Prediction for the 3 schools that will be added to Big 12: Louisville, West Virginia and TCU. Not a bad football league. -

Pete Thamel, who apparently broke the Syracuse and Pitt to the ACC story this past weekend, had this to say:
My final thought for the night is that I'll be STUNNED, after talking to 3 people today, if Mizzou ends up in SEC.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Cannot believe Mizzou goes to SEC. What I have seen is that was a conditional deal based on the Big 12 blowing up. They will bide their time for a Big Ten invite in the Big 12.
What seems to make the most sense right now is that A&M will go to SEC still, and they will also add West Virginia. Big 12 will add hopefully three teams. I would love BYU, Louisville, and West Virginia but as WVU is headed to the SEC I think, better make that one TCU more realistically. That leaves the Big East with 5 members which is the minimum required to hold onto a BCS bid as long as they reload back up to a minimum of 8. Who knows who they add, but Navy, ECU, UCF, etc. would all be decent bets.
It seems that the Big 12 will structure itself differently after replacing Dan Beebe as commissioner, with some form of equal revenue sharing and some sort of restructuring of the Longhorn Network - I have seen partial revenue sharing on that TV tier tossed out as an idea, but we'll see. Have to imagine all conference games will be banned from it and all high school games and highlights will be banned as well.
Pretty funny to go back and look at all the posts and Tweets about the imminent Pac-16 and demise of the Big 12. I will be the first to say that I got some things wrong about this but it's good to see I'm not alone.Last edited by TheGamingChef; 09-21-2011, 02:12 AM.Comment

So I'm seeing that the reason the Pac 12 isn't expanding is because Texas didn't want equal revenue sharing. Oklahoma really wanted to go there, and didn't start to back off until they realized the Pac didn't want them without Texas. And Texas never wanted to go west.

Thank goodness. A reasonable end to this mess is still possible. Maybe we'll just have to deal with a bloated ACC and an unbalanced SEC.NFL: Indianapolis Colts (12-6)
NBA: Indiana Pacers (42-13)
MLB: Cincinnati Reds (0-0)
NHL: Detroit Red Wings (26-20-12)
NCAA: Purdue Boilermakers (FB: 1-11, BB: 15-12), Michigan Wolverines (FB: 7-6, BB: 19-7, H: 15-10-3)Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
"West Virginia won't be leaving for the ACC or SEC after overtures were denied by both conferences, according to a report on CBSSports.com. The Mountaineers explored the potential of a move to either the ACC or SEC, but school officials told the Big East they were denied and would remain in the Big East, according to the report."
