    i HATE THIS MOVE!!!

Football politics is getting out of hand. Sure it helps the football team (for now) but we just sold out and screwed over our biggest program in Basketball. Sterk better have something better up his sleeve than the Big West or WAC.

One thing I dont like is they are completely throwing geographical distance away. It helps the football conference and the teams invovled(mainly for recruiting), but it will take a toll on the players.A team like Rutgers might have travel to San Diego, go home for home game, then travel to Houston or SMU.

But aren't they talking about two divisions?

        SDSU
        Boise
        Houston
        SMU
        Air Force (if they come)

Then all the East Schools in their own division

This is what college football has come to. San Diego State, a school on the Pacific Coast of California will be playing games in Piscataway, NJ; Storrs, CT; Tampa Bay, FL and Louisville, KY.

          THANK YOU ESPN/BCS $$$$

That is what I expected, but I still see a team like SDSU facing a team like Rutgers one week then Houston the next week.

We've done all we can................whatever. While the new Big East would be somewhat a step up, it is not much of one.

I assume AFA is the 12th, so one division would seem to be Boise, SDST, AFA, Houston, SMU, UCF. Then the remaining 5 current teams with Navy. If AFA says no, then I assume 12 is Temple. Then I think it would be Cincy and the Ville in the West.

The New Big East >> Current Big East

Although the geography sucks Boise football is a step up from WVU.
UCF and Houston is better than Pitt and Syracuse. This would be a win for the Big East. The AQ status is safe with these teams.
                      NCAA >>> Madden

come on Tova..you like a State school too judging by your AVY...its SDSU not SDST.

Sorry, that really bugs me when people type that. Just like Oregon State is not OST

Fair enough, I think the basketball program will be fine in the Big West. It took some time for the MWC to get to where it is now, and they'll only have UNLV and UNM now for basketball so the conference won't be as strong anymore. It's obvious that the conference right now is a sinking ship like many "mid-major" conferences and SDSU has to look out for its own survival unfortunately.

In other news, University of Alaska and University of Hawaii are mulling over Big East invites. So is the Japanese National Football Team.
                            Football: Denver Broncos

                                $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Don't blame the Big East or the schools involved. They are just doing what they have to do.

I guess you could blame the ACC for raping and pillaging the Big East twice, but further down the root of the problem is the money forked over from the BCS and ESPN.

Pitt and Syracuse haven't been very good in years in the Big East, but they were relatively big-name programs. WVU is obviously a huge loss for the Big East, though. In all, the Big East might be stronger after this whole realignment, but perception-wise, it won't. People are more likely to think a 10-2 Pitt team is good than a 10-2 San Diego State, IMO. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is.

I hope that this helps WVU to move to the Big 12 in 2012.
