Idaho annouces its Indy schedule for next year. Also, they are headed to the Big Sky in 2014 for all other sports. I'm susprised, but they were able to get the 5 home games they needed for FBS status. Also they are playing New Mexico State twice in the same season.

That's so strange. I really didn't think Idaho was gonna be an FBS program. But I tell you what, the CAA is like a springboard for jumpin up to FBS. you got UMass up there now. Georgia State and Old Dominion are both paticipating in the CAA now but can't compete for the CAA championship cuz they're moving up to FBS next season.

Georgia State i believe has only been a part of the conference for a year or two and they're movin to the Sun Belt. But Old Dominion is the real story to me. Also in only their second year in the CAA, they've only had their program since 2009 (last time they played was in 1941 under a different name), and they've had huge success in that time. They'll still get a playoff bid this year even without the ability to win the CAA. They're movin up to C-USA next year, and I'll be very interested to see how their inaugural FBS season goes.

Idaho has to stay in 1-A for at least 2 years because they are too far over the 1-AA scholarship limit. After 2 years as an Independent, it's highly likely they'll drop back down to the Big Sky.

Unless we get another wave of re-alignments and the Mountain West will take them

Yea, this is just a band-aid. This not a viable situation for them long term. New Mexico State maybe has a better shot to pull it off, because you are actually able to get to Las Cruses, NM pretty quick after a flight into El Paso. They can actually get teams to visit them. Trust if the Mountain West got that desprate, they'd chase Montana first. UTEP will be the first choice.

Yea, they have some talent too. I'm curious as well. UTSA started their program last year yet UTSA is showing that they really weren't ready for the move up to FBS. They are getting killed in the WAC, and will in CUSA.

I think ODU has a better base and foundation laid than UTSA, who just fast tracked the whole thing and will pay for it later.

Where are you hearing this from? The last two schools invited to the B1G were Nebraska and Penn State. Maryland seems more like a Missouri as far as the Big Ten is concerned.

As long as Rutgers gets to tag along as the 14th team I'd be happy.
