If Memphis can keep their program on the track they were on this year, could be worthwhile. Problem is I can't see them doing that.

They're also trying to get the waiver to get a conference title game without 12 teams.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
Why? Let's say Baylor doesn't lose to WVU this year and are 12-0, 9-0 in conference (or maybe they go back to 8 conference games so the championship game looks like it is needed). They and TCU meet in the Big 12 title game and TCU wins. Both are now 12-1, 9-1 in conference, and split a game against each other. Is TCU champion just because you called it a "championship" game, because everything else points to the fact that they are tied? And maybe both still get left out because they beat up on eachother in championship week while Bama, Oregon, and OSU coasted, and of course, you wouldn't leave out that so-called powerhouse FSU.
If they go back to 8 games, then I think it's at least somewhat justified. If they keep playing 9 games and tack on a championship game, you're just asking for more trouble, especially since a situation like this could certainly happen again.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
I mean if Arizona beats USC (28-26 L) and UCLA (17-7 loss), we have that same exact scenario he described in his post in a 12-team conference.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
I don't see the Big 12 expanding, quite the opposite: I expect it to go the route of the old SouthWest Conference. If the SEC could steal Baylor, they'd never feel like they were being railroaded by the Commissioner. The SEC takes care of their own.T-BONE.

Re: Conference Re-Alignment Thread Part Who Knows
I always liked the 10 team, 9 conference game system. You didn't have the chance a team gets in/wins a playoff because their turn in the rotation meant a cupcake schedule *shrugs*
You don't have co-champions in that system though, that is just stupid. Baylor beat TCU, records equal Baylor won the title.
Get 12+ team ones can/do/should do a full slate of division games so the division winner is that, though don't most pick on conference record and not division record (brain fried right now)? Rather it be division and thus clearly sorted out. Yeah the other games become just filler but oh well.Comment

I've always been a fan of the round-robin. I liked it in the Big East. I like it in the Big 12. It's the best way to choose a champion.Comment
