Re: College Football Off Topic
"Power 5 conferences are now asking Congress to bypass NCAA & move to give college athletes rights to earn $ from name, image, likeness.
Nice to see some autonomy. However, not holding breath on federal action. Glad to see Florida has applied big pressure. https://t.co/DzbwknLbxl"
Definitely feels The Power 5 knows NCAA is reluctant to actually doing anything about NIL.Attached FilesComment

The College Football Hall of Fame was damaged during the activities in Atlanta.
EDIT: The "good" news, if it can be called that, is that the people involved were unable to get to the museum/artifacts. The damage is mainly restriced to the gift shop.Last edited by TripleCrown9; 05-30-2020, 01:04 PM.Boston Red Sox

Re: College Football Off Topic
R.I.P. Pat Dye. two stories I always loved about Dye, who just so happened to also be one of Bear's boys, when asking Bear Bryant what he thought of leaving Wyoming after one year as their HC to take the Auburn job, Bear told him dont take it, he'd never beat a Bear-led Bama team. Dye told him maybe not, but he'd beat whoever replaced Bear like a red-headed stepchild. And after Dye accepted the Auburn job, after losing 8 straight Iron Bowls, the Auburn family wanted to know how long it would take to beat Bama. Dye gave the perfect answer: 60 minutes. Rest in peace coach.OSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: College Football Off Topic
Hornung had thought Majors was upset over the voting for the Heisman. And Hornung was right.
Years later, Hornung had Majors on his radio show. They were going to settle the argument over who should have won the 1956 Heisman. The very first question Hornung asked, "Ok, who should have won the Heisman in 1956?"
Majors answered, "Jim Brown."Comment

Paul Hornung of Notre Dame had won the Heisman back in '56, with Johnny Majors finishing second. It was a controversial win for Hornung because Notre Dame had finished with a 2-8 record and Hornung hadn't even received the most first-place votes. Tennessee had finished #2, led by Majors.

"BREAKING: Florida @GovRonDeSantis is signing the college athlete name, image & likeness bill.
Effective July 1, 2021, college athletes in Florida can sign paid endorsement deals. FL jumps CA as 1st state to give athletes these rights. Honored to have been part of this effort."Comment
