Re: Week 1 Discussion
I was expecting a blowout in the Hawaii, Washington game. Pleasantly surprised at the heart Hawaii showed, they statistically had a better game and should have pulled out the W.
Good game, but seeing how it played out I'm disappointed. Warriors looked good though.Comment

Re: Week 1 Discussion
Oh, I'll definitely take Auburn's start to the season.
After shaking that first half rust off and making some defensive changes, we scored 24 unanswered in the second half and didn't allow another point.
The gameplan was pretty vanilla and still produced big time. Then there's Jeremy Johnson and Duke Williams, who emerged as the guy Auburn fans knew he could be. As the season goes on, I have a feeling his value to the offense and receivers will exceed or at least match that of Sammie.
I'll be interested to see if we continue to improve once we actually get into that tougher SEC schedule. We still don't know exactly how good Arkansas will be. I do think there will be a few games where they give teams problems with their running game.
A SEC West win to start the season is hard to complain about. The only thing that worries me is that I'm actually feeling a little confident.
Auburn tends to accomplish the most when I'm nervous.Last edited by RebelHog; 08-31-2014, 11:58 AM.Comment

Re: Week 1 Discussion
Enjoy this, it won't last. WPS. Oh and when the Tigers return to Razorback Stadium, we will make sure the clock operating and elevators work just as well. Just so you know when he was a HS football coach at Shiloh Christian in big time games against teams that like to ground and pound and run the clock down, for some strange reason, the clock would also have an issue. Hmmmm....

Re: Week 1 Discussion
Lindquist just forgot how to play football completely in the second half. Hawaii's running back is a bull. They were saying that the team last year was actually much better than the one that won two more games the year before. Seems like they might have been right.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: Week 1 Discussion
Are you excited about tonight's games? Utah State vs Tennessee and SMU vs Baylor. Even after all those games yesterday, and especially the Washington Hawaii game, what a barnburner that was, well to quote Ryback FEED ME MORE College Football!!Comment

Re: Week 1 Discussion
Someone at the SEC Network or FS1 should have picked up the phone and called the other and agreed not to air their games simultaneously. I could be watching 7 hours of college football if those games were back to back. Now I only get 4 and I will mostly ignore Baylor-SMU because I would rather watch Chuckie Keeton.Comment

Re: Week 1 Discussion
I hope Eddie Jackson is back soon, or at the least Humphrey and Brown start getting a lot of time. Hard to believe they'd do any worse than Sylve but even then at least they'd be getting some good experience before they take the starting spots later on. Ol' bo had 11 looking like Larry Fitzgerald out there and can't tackle for **** either.
I know DePriest was out but I figured the linebacker situation is shaky at best, even with him. Wish CJ had another year of eligibility.
Skill positions were fine, even though it's ****ed up to have the kind of TE OJ Howard is and not even see him targeted. Yeldon/Henry/Drake is ridiculous. Cooper is Cooper. Really hope White is okay, such a talented guy with terrible injury luck. Feel bad for him. If there is a bright side to the situation, it would be that there is plenty of depth at the position so if he does have to miss some games there is quality talent to help take up the slack. Sims probably looked better on TV, but while he was decent, I think I want to see what Coker can can do sooner rather than later.
In any case unless the defense gets better very quickly, it's gonna be a long and disappointing season.
At least we seem to have decent kicker now. JK Scott did well punting too.
A win is a win I guess but we all left pretty disappointed overall. Without a couple of dropped passes from WVU receivers and the result would have been a lot diffferent, and a lot more disappointing. An all nighter from Twin Peaks to PinUps helped to improve the mood though. The WVU fans were all great too. Good luck to the Mountaineers in the B12.Last edited by trobinson97; 08-31-2014, 04:03 PM.PS: You guys are great.
