Im loving this demo and from what I can tell the final build will put this game over the top if they tell us at E3 that coaching changes is in. -

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Played all the match ups in the demo. I will try to give some objective opinions.
Negatives
-I have seen on a few occasions the receiver warp to catch the ball. It doesn't happen every time, but did a few.
- I have also seen some bad blocking logic on the tosses and sweeps.
These are the only negatives that I have noticed or bothered me so far.
Positives:
- Locomotion is a game changer. Player movement hasn't felt this right since last gen.
-Looks like there are a lot of new animations. I have seen some brutal tackles.
-Blocking is much better overall. Best its been in Next-Gen.
-No more zig-zag running.
Overall I think its pretty awesome. IMO its the next gen football game we have been waiting for.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Just played the demo for the first time, and I had a blast with it. Pretty fun game, sucks there's a month until it releases though.
I did incur one strange glitch, I haven't read through the whole thread so I don't know if anyone has noticed it. I was running the option and I pitched the ball to my RB, and it fell to the ground but was ruled an incomplete pass. From the naked eye it looked like it was pitched backwards, although with no replay I couldn't be 100% sure. Was wondering if anyone else had noticed this?Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
Theres so much I could say about this comment, but most likely lead me towards an infraction eventually. So, I'll just say your completely right, EA is not known to have glitches in there final build, they never let us down there
By the way, I'm sure the majority wouldnt touch that beer until it was ice cold.
Football gamers are ALSO known to leap head 1st off of tall buildings, usually resulting in catastrophic bodily harm.
Point of the beer analogy is that its a sample you can have over and over and over. It may not be perfect (or ice-cold) but it is free.
Point is, guys who are having fits over a demo (not you, the guy you qouted) need to sip some of the beer I spoke of earlier and just relax. I understand the problems with EA's football titles...really I do. I just can't understand why anyone would get SO upset over a demo. I'll wait and get my scrip for prozac AFTER the game comes out....all I'm saying. Take it for what it is and wait to go bear punching when the retail version drops.Last edited by thesublime; 06-14-2010, 04:42 PM.Comment

I don't if anyone has posted this yet, but has anyone looked at UT's third string qb? He has 96 THP and 86 THA...seems a bit overrated for a froshComment

Good:
-Locomotion!~! works pretty well for the most part. I think hard sideways cuts could use some more slowing down but overall it's nice.
-Run blocking is much better and combined with the movement makes running a lot of fun. I do wish there were more animations for when you come into contact with your blocker.
-I like the feel of the passing too. It's no APF, but nothing really is. The ball path is good though and I've had no trouble putting the ball where it needs to be.
-Overall animations just aren't as awkward and are smoother with more variety. There's still some bad ones but much better on average.
-The CPU really puts pressure on you when they run the no huddle. I was definitely having problems keeping up at times.
Meh:
Presentation. It's better, but I wouldn't call it great. The commentary just stinks and is stale as month old bread. The cutscenes are ok, but they get old fast. The pre-game is also ok, but kinda lame that you don't ever see the announcers in the booth.
-The playcalling screen isn't horrible but it's too laggy. Really I thought they'd have menu lag figured out by now.
Bad:
-DL play. This absolutely should be gameplay priority number one next year.
-Warping by WRs and DB's on the end of routes to get to the ball.Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here
about the warping for catches...im suprised none of the "user catchers" have mentioned this but i will try as ive noticed this in every next gen EA football game to date...
the reason i believe this happens is becuz the cpu controlled players do not run at their highest speed. if u user catch then u will know what i mean. try a hail mary or a streak route and user control the WR when the ball is in the air to try to user catch it...as soon as u switch hit turbo and your guy will take off in speed. before ur very eyes, the cpu WR wasnt running full speed, or as fast as they could with turbo i should say!!!
but when u throw that ball and they can get to it with turbo, what i think u guys are seeing is the cpu hitting turbo to catch up to it...but it looks weird cuz they turbo into a catching animation. if they cant get to it, u will see no warp and they wont try and let the ball sail past.
this is all from my speculation, but it makes some sense IMOComment
