Re: NCAA Football '13-Team Ratings
That's fine, but the Prestige rating in NCAA Football 13 has one major focus...it aids in recruiting top players. AU recruits as well as anyone so the rating in the game according to what it is designed to do is fine IMO.
#2. If folks think AU is a 5 star, fine. Then since we won a NC in 2010 anyway, we would be a 6 star in the game regardless at this time.
Either way...again..the 6 star rating is fine.
No point complaining about it anyway...it's not going to change.AUBURN TIGERS

Re: NCAA Football '13-Team Ratings
Oregon nor Auburn deserve six stars from a 'prestige' point of view. But like another poster mentioned the prestige rating is little about prestige and all about recruiting in the game, so it is really hard to argue against them for not being top quality in that.
As for Texas' ratings holy crap, how did Mike Davis get a 90? His career stats are something like 950 yards, 3 tds and 90 receptions.SOONERS |THUNDER |COWBOYS | CHELSEAComment

Re: NCAA Football '13-Team Ratings
The prestige rating is about recruiting, so Notre Dame and Michigan do deserve 6's. Have you seen Michigan's 2013 commit list yet? They are the clear #1 in the nation for 2013 so far.Comment

Re: NCAA Football '13-Team Ratings
So the prestige system should work like this.
Schools with higher prestige typically have better programs. - Schools that break ncaa rules and face serious probation issues should be considered a star degrade.
stand a better chance at getting into the BCS - Teams that have been competitively involved in the BCS should also help their stars.
attract better high school players - Teams with good recruiting classes should effect their stars.
Even though the developers said this, we all know that this is not how it works.Comment

Re: NCAA Football '13-Team Ratings
There is NO WAY it is all about recruiting. Where does it say this at?
Prestige is the number of stars the school's program is worth, from 1 to 6 stars, with 6 being the best. Schools with higher prestige typically have better programs, stand a better chance at getting into the BCS, and will attract better high school players. - IGNComment

Re: NCAA Football '13-Team Ratings
The BCS thing would depend to Notre Dame. They haven't been to the BCS since '06, and they were blown out. So as far as the BCS part, are the developers referring to alltime BCS or the past 5 years or something.Comment

Re: NCAA Football '13-Team Ratings
I take that excerpt to mean the program has a better chance of being picked for a BCS bowl due to the school's "name" power. Like how Michigan is more likely to be selected than Mizzou based on national popularity.Comment

Re: NCAA Football '13-Team Ratings
Things happen. Vandy was clearly the better team, but had some unfortunate breaks and stupid plays.. We threw a 70 yard pass down to UT's 1 yard line but it got called back due to a clipping penalty way behind the play that was inconsequential (it was a good call - just a stupid play by our lineman). UT, down 7 late, lines up for a FG and we have a guy come scott free off the edge who lays out to block it, but Palardy kicked the ball so bad it went under the guy who was in perfect position to block it...the ball didnt get 2 feet off the ground and hit some offensive lineman in the back..but our blocker slid into the kicker so it was a penalty..UT scored a TD on the next play..just fluky stuff like that... not to mention the ref blew his whistle on the overtime TD (yes I know Gordon's knee did not hit the ground - but once the whistle blows, inadvertent or not, the play is dead). It happens in football. But we beat Ole Miss by 23, UK by 30, had chances on the last play of the game to beat UGA and put the Arkansas game to OT, lost by 5 at Florida, beat Wake Forest by 34..and like I said before, we have everybody back..and they will be better players than they were last year... 2nd year of the offensive and defensive system. Oh, we will be Northwestern by double digits. Go ahead and book that.Last edited by thehardknoxlife; 06-06-2012, 04:23 PM.Comment

IN THE GAME... Prestige is a recruiting attribute. Boise gets it for their 10+ win seasons every year so yes. But what does prestige affect in the game?
Recruiting. As I said, AU recruits at an elite level under Chiz so in that regard, the rating is fine.
If you don't like the rating, that's your prerogative. But regarding it's major functionality in the GAME, recruiting, it's very plausible.
Auburn has a NC and a boatload of 4 and 5 star talent on the depth chart (all underclassmen it seems as well). I don't see the reason for the hate.
UF has been mediocre to bad the last 3 years.
Ohio State isn't exactly in tip top shape right now BTW.CFB: Ohio State, FSU

Re: NCAA Football '13-Team Ratings
Vandy had a chance to win late IIRC but opted to throw a INT instead. Threw another one in OT as well. It's funny how Vandy fans call foul play on a call the refs actually got right. A play, even if was called down, wouldn't have mattered as UT would only have just had to kick a short FG. I guarantee Tennessee will beat beat Vandy this year. Last year UT was beat up pretty bad by injuries (#1 WR out for season, broken thumb QB, #1 S out for the year, #1 LB out for the season). Vandy caught a banged up Vols team just coming off a brutal schedule where they played the 5 best SEC teams consecutively(all top 15 teams) with a freshman QB. I don't see how you can say Vandy was the better team when all their players were hurt (2nd string still pulled out a win). The Vols will have depth this year for the first time since Fulmer. Best case scenario for Vandy will be starting 2-5. Although I highly doubt they beat NU.Comment

Re: NCAA Football '13-Team Ratings
Auburn is one year removed from a NC.
Ohio State is about to go through a season on probation with no Bowl.Last edited by AuburnAlumni; 06-06-2012, 04:41 PM.AUBURN TIGERS
