All these teams signing 35 players in these videos, shouldn't the number be dropped to 25?

Or the points only count for the best 25?

This could be EA's way of simulating situations like that.

I can give you this example, I went to high school with a guy that was a 4 star LB/RB. He had recruiters from ALL of the major schools (UVA, Virginia Tech, Ok State, ect) give him a visit. He ended up playing his college career at JMU because he had a major injury early in his HS career and that scared off the offers from the major schools. He lucky went on to be an All-American and play 10 years in the NFL.

So I say all of that to say that this situation isn't all that unusual in real life.
Recruits don't have injury histories. There is no mechanic for off-field issues leading to suspensions or the sorts.

We can't explain it away with examples like that in real life because it's not what they are trying to replicate. It's simply an issue with the recruiting logic in the game.

If you want to act like that is the reason in your head in your dynasty that those players are being ignored, that's one thing. But we can't sit here and try to excuse away a clear issue with real life examples of things that are not programmed into the game.

No, there are no limits in real life on class sizes. That rule has been changed, that's why this game doesn't limit you at 25 signees now.

Re: Let's Talk Recruiting (CFB 25)

I looked through last three years of 4 star recruits from 247 sports. There's roughly about 425-450 4 stars a year. 90% of these guys committed to blue blood programs.

A few would go to the likes of Vandy, NC St., Maryland.

Near 0 went to any one star program. One safety ranked like 250th recruit in the nation committed to ECU.

Now I get this is a video game so they don't want to make it impossible like in RL but they really should've put in some kind of tuning for those who really wanna grind it out and rely on their stick skills to win games and boost program prestige.

Looking at some of the rebuild videos I've seen it seems a 1* school can pull plenty of 4 stars and be competing for titles in three years. Kinda scary. Think some of us are gonna be doing house rules unless they tune it.

Yeah, I'm doing self imposed rules for the first couple seasons of my 1 star TB dynasty. I won't recruit 4-5 stars, only will recruit from pipeline, I will only recruit players that interested and have me in their top 5, and I'll stick to guy that align with my best pitches.

              Well that's...concerning.

I missed this over the weekend, but Ben Haumiller was showing off dynasty and recruiting. He specifically talked about the NTE video where NTE was able to get 4* and even a 5* guy at a small school, and Ben basically said that the game was working as intended. It was okay that NTE was able to get those guys because he had to spend all of his recruiting points to get them and only ended up with a handful of guys

Hopefully that was just him not wanting to be critical of the game during a marketing tour, or at the very least he internally acknowledges that top ranked guys shouldn't be going unrecruited. But yeah...

From Fendler who played the game for a lot the past week

expect an early Recruiting patch. 4 and 5 stars were “falling through the cracks” with no offers, so low prestige schools could sign them just by being the only offer.

Another thing I might do to make it more challenging is not choosing Recruiter path. I wasn't originally going to choose Recruiter, but I decided Recruiter because I want to start as a 1 star school. But seeing how recruiting is, I'll see decide between a Motivator and Tactician DC. I might do a Motivator primary and hybrid with Tactician. But, I still Ideally want the rest of coaching staff to be Recruiters

I think it was exactly that, he was doing some damage control and trying to assuage some fears and avoid any negativity. Even NTE in his Reddit AMA agreed what he was able to do was at least a bit too much and that the dev team would at least make sure 5 stars were not falling through any cracks. Remains to be seen how much the tuning will fix things, but we can be assured that some change will happen.

Yea that would be another thing to have in our back pocket if it becomes to easy along with in house rules. I've purposely avoided every skill tree perk so I can see for myself

This is why I wish they would have had a recruiting slider or at least 4 difficulty levels for it. People who want an easier time building up a small program could slide it down or put it on Freshman. People who want to put a ton of time in and have a rewarding long term rebuild could slide it up or put it on Heisman.

Agreed. If not I'm just gonna self impose something like Can only recruit one star higher than my prestige, maybe 2 players 2 stars higher and 1 player 3 stars higher. Not sign but only recruit. Obviously I hope they do patch it and it's not even an issue. Still interested in seeing if the sliders work too because I can see some things that I want to address, but that's another topic.

I think going down the recruiter path will still be fine for people to do. I don't think the recruiter skills are looking OP in the videos. They aren't the reason these content creators are getting better classes than they maybe should.

The main culprit is the amount of players free for the taking that the CPU aren't recruiting. But, for the recruits that are getting chased by an appropriate amount of schools, recruiting seems balanced decently well and the content creators are losing the battles they should. If the CPU actively goes after a recruit, it seems to play out fine, it's the kids they ignore and basically gift you if you take advantage of it that are the issue.

I haven't really seen the Motivator or Tactician skill trees at all. I would want to see what the Skill Trees are before starting. Since I want to be a DC to start, I'm leaning towards Tactician. But, I want my team to be able to develop and progress quicker. I don't plan playing many games year 1. I plan on recruiting and playing select games.

Another thing to go on top of this now that you mention it. With the slow coach progression and starting at level 1 you obviously will have less perks to buy each year. With they way they did recruiting perks and breaking them up by position. It shouldn't be as OP as the past just bc its not every position.

Also kinda cool to see this thread still hanging on to the 1st page after a few months
