Re: Let's Talk Recruiting (CFB 25)

Another reason I'm leaning away from Recruiter, I like the potential long term benefits of Motivator and Tactician over Recruiter. I rather bank on my school's recruiting pitches improving and leaning on that. Yes, we can get more insta-commits, improving our pipeline, faster scouting. But, I'm curious to see the long term benefits of Motivator and Tacticians. The main ability I want from Recruiter is Mindreader.

I do hope someone puts out a video about which pipelines produces specific archetypes. I want to build through the Trenches. Since i want to recruit from pipelines only to start, I would want to pick a pipeline that produces a lot of big fast OL and DL

Wanted to test the instant commitments. Without have any upgrades on my coach and filling my board with only players who was #1 at my school (i used Oregon) I got 5 to verbally commit right away out of 35.

I got a 1 insta verbal commit with coach level 1

I lost out on several 5* I shouldn’t have got with South Carolina in my test

I have 6 commits two 4 and 3* so overall initial impressions I’m cool with it im seeing. A lot of 1 and 2* had me blocked out. The 1 five * remaining on board I should miss out on him officially next week

This is like week 6ish and all 5* have offers. I do see 20ish 4* without a scholarship offer with some of those having dealbreakers I can’t go after.

Quick question, are there any breakdowns of positional requirements per scheme? I just need to know if I can finally run a proper spread offense and not be forced to waste a roster spot on a FB I will never use due to EA forcefully hardcoding it in or having to fill one of the unused OLB spots in the 4-2-5 set that never actually gets on the field

Many rosters in the game don’t have a FB, but I’ve not checked it myself in dynasty

                Looking for advice on recruiting...

If it's very early in the season, and you're in 1st for a guy and he's super close to having the bar full and no other team is very close so you have a huge lead... Do you leave as is, or give even less hours so you can use your hours for guys who may need it more?

Or do you try to go full out to get that guy to commit ASAP so you can then reallocate his points elsewhere?

I'm still in my first year of my dynasty, and have 0 recruits at UMass, so maybe my advice is not the best, but for the few guys I have like that, I am going all in on to secure commitments for now so I have more resources to go harder after guys I need to compete for later on in the year.

This is my method which is still in the testing phase.

I break down my prospects to about 10 must have guys and then the others. If he is in the must have then I keep maxing it out. If its the other stack then I'll dial back the hours. It does seem like CPU teams can come up from nowhere and get the guy.

Thanks for the feedback, I think this makes the most sense.

If you can secure the commitment as soon as possible, do it. I had one year in dynasty where I was #1 with 10 recruits all season. A bunch of power 5’s came and stole them from week 12 to 14, and I ended up only securing a recruiting class of 7 players. I had one tight end #115 in the country who I was his number #1 choice all season. He was stuck on almost fully commited from like week 7 despite me sending the house and bringing him in for a visit. He would just not commit to me no matter what I did (probably because I was a .500 team). Week 12 Alabama came in and offered him and I’m assuming sent the house, and the almost made up all of the ground I had gained for several weeks of time investment. By week 14 they had his commitment and I was left scrambling because I hadn’t recruited anyone else. I was sure I had his commitment. Be careful. Even the guys who are close to committing can get stuck with their interest and you can lose them

My best advice is to not get lost in the chase for the “big fish”. Secure depth guys you don’t have to out a lot of time into. Go for the players you know you will get a commit from. If your not bringing in about 15 players per year in recruiting you are going to have major depth issues down the line

100% agree with this and I experienced similar. My recruiting class was 17, but that's still the 3rd smallest in the nation and my depth is suffering a bit because of it.

I've been doing some test with Army who somehow is a 2.5 prestige. I'm using in house rules so very limited 3* and mostly just 2* as for some reason I'm always blocked out of the 1* recruits. They are a brutal rebuild bc only 4 freshman and 27 senior and not able to use the portal.

With the in house rules and despite not much competition from who I'm going after its a blast. The one additional in house rule I think I will be adding Athletes that's a QB. I'm seeing some even as 2* that are mid 90's speed and throw power. The CPU does seem to be going after those guys as I'm losing most of them

While the guys I'm getting are usually 55-60 overall range. I'm just focusing on one specific grades like finding OL with 85 strength.

Athletes are the main position you want to go after

Scouting is huge and you want to find those 2* gems. So if you have any extra points use them for scouting. Ideally from pipeline states

I just hit season 2 of my dynasty and I've noticed recruiting feels different. Way more competition for recruits and a lot fewer 3-stars interested in me. Not sure if it's just me.

Does anyone know if there is a list of stadium songs used by teams, or anyone interested in a community effort to put together playlists for the stadiums to just play during games?
