Re: How is your dynasty going
Makes sense I play on 7 mins and get about 40-50 throws in and about 30 carries. Which is a little bit exaggerated compared to real life. It's too easy to put up a 40+ score game for me even against decent opponents as an OC for army. Not to realistic and that's what I'm going for. Oh wellComment

Re: How is your dynasty going
First game of my Akron dynasty as OC went terrible, I lost 55-17 at UCF. I'm using a custom playbook heavily based on the Army playbook, and Akron's running back is the best player on the offense. However, I passed way too much and that's what ruined me, my QB went 14/28, with 286 yards and one TD, but 3 INT's, including a pick six. Hopefully I'll win my next three, all at home against Colorado, then #19 Michigan, then ULL.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
Been using the Community sliders and the modified Mr. Nation's conferences that was posted in the realignment thread and playing as Georgia State(played 5 games so far).
So far, my team has been dreadful in the passing game. I had to replace the original starter Ben McLane, but even with Ronnie Bell, it's not been good at all (both have a combined 2 TD/10 INTs[Bell with 7 of those picks, but he's been the more accurate passer at 59%.] with 24 sacks.) Bell at least gives me the duel threat that I have some plays for (using a modified Purdue playbook), but it's all about Travis Evans, my starting RB, and Albert Wilson, my Wildcard. Evans is 30th in the nation with 542 rushing yards and Wilson is a great guy to return kicks and run/catch the ball.
I'm only staying in games thanks to my defense (outside of the 35-7 whipping I got in Morgantown.) They are tied for 5th with 10 picks (I'm probably going to turn down the sliders here and with sacks) and 27th in sacks with 16. Outside of West Virginia, I haven't allowed more than 21 points and average 18.4 points a game, I'm happy.
Overall, if I could get a QB and a line that could pass protect, it could be good times at Georgia State. When you only beat two FCS teams by a combined score of 37-17, you know you have issues (even though GSU is basically a FCS school anyways.) Oh well, I get to face the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide this coming week. It's going to be a long week, especially if West Virginia can put up 35 on me.NFL: Houston Texans / Carolina Panthers

Re: How is your dynasty going
Decided to start a new dynasty with K-Weezy-8's updated rosters, just to see how the season will turn out compare to real life.
I'm an OC at Georgia State, worst team in the game at 61 OVR. I'm using MSU's pro-style playbook since they're my favorite school and I hope to eventually take over as HC.
Noticed that Georgia State played 3 FCS teams so I simmed those games and played my non-conference game vs West Virginia. Got blown out 58-27 but not a bad showing from my offense playing in a tough environment. Unfortunately I was only able to win 1 of the 3 FCS games I simmed so I stand at 1-3 going into my game at #1 Alabama. Not expecting any miracles but hopefully I can gain some confidence going into the in-conference portion of my schedule.
Also I've decided to implement a few house rules for my dynasty
1) can only recruit a player who is no more than 2 stars above my team's prestige rating. So since Georgia State is a 1-star I can only recruit up to 3-star players
2) once I sign a contract with a team I must stay at least 3 seasons unless one of the following happens
*I'm fired
*I'm offered a job at another school of similar prestige-rating(up to 1 star above)
*Or I'm offered a job at Michigan StateXbox One/360: BionicBeard52

Re: How is your dynasty going
I'm loving the realistic scores I'm getting in my Boise BIG 12 dynasty. All though the day that both teams score less than 20 ex. 17-10 I will cry tears of happiness.
1-1 lost conference opener on the road at Texas A&M 35-25. I did a decent jump of containing Manziel and Evans but because of all my focus on them the RB killed me. I was down 3-21 at halftime. Lost my awesome kr/pr/WR with broken ribs for 7 weeks. Really hurts my special teams and screen plays.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
Just finished year 4 as Head Coach for USF. I have been to a bowl game in all four years and now just won the Fight Hunger Bowl against Cal. 37-24 to finish the season 10-3, second in the Conference. Puts my bowl record now at 2-2.
Going into year 5 is going to be a challenging season having seen my roster get depleted with grads and not getting too many stud recruits to help with the turnover. However this year for the first time I'm now getting interest from some higher star level recruits, given the success on the field we've had. Hopefully I will be able to build the program up.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
Just played vs #1 Alabama in my Georgia State dynasty and it was not pretty, 71-7 final score and my offense didn't even score the lone TD(a kick-off return TD)
Rough day to say the least for the Panthers but I think after 5 weeks I've made my decision on who my starting QB will be for the rest of the season. Ronnie Bell will start over Ben McLane mostly because his scrambling ability and I need someone who can get out of trouble with this poor offensive line.
My record is now 1-4 on the season, it will be a miracle if I can get to 6 wins this season but we'll see!! Back home next week for my conference opener vs Troy!Xbox One/360: BionicBeard52

Re: How is your dynasty going
Finished a season in my test dynasty as OC at FIU. Finished the season 13-1 (the loss coming in the opening game of the season against Maryland) and winning the Auto Zone Liberty Bowl. Got a few head coaching offers ultimately stay at FIU to become head coach after Ron Turner accepted the job at Syracuse.
I will definitely need to find some good sliders and start over. With a few rules in place to add a degree of enjoyment to the game.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
I just finished my second season as UMass's OC and saw some improvements and things I need to work on on my end.
<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /><link href="http://dynasties.operationsports.com/css/osdyn.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"></head><body><table cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1" class="osdyn" width="575"><tr class="masthead_alt"><td bgcolor="#9F011A" colspan="7"><span style="color:#9F011A">MAC Conference Standings - Updated: Jan 6, 2015</span></td></tr><tr class="stathead"><td width="40%">TEAM</td><td align="right" width="10%">REC</td><td align="right" width="10%">PCT</td><td align="right" width="10%">CONF</td><td align="right" width="10%">PF</td><td align="right" width="10%">PA</td><td align="right" width="10%">STRK</td></tr><tr class="oddrow"><td>UMass</td><td align="right">4-8</td><td align="right">0.330</td><td align="right" class="active">3.5</td><td align="right">270</td><td align="right">352</td><td align="right">L2</td></tr></table></body></html>
Offensively I moved the ball a lot better than I did during my first season. I was able to run the ball a lot better which helped me open up more deep passing plays.

Passing wise I really had an issue with sliders this year. I found myself really having issues with the slider at 5 where my QB would just miss my target by 20 yards at times, but at the same time I found 10 to be way too easy. I do need to learn to throw the ball away and not force the ball into coverage as much as I did throw the most INT's I have thrown in a dynasty before.
Running wise Jordan Broadnax really turned into my go-to guy on the ground and a gave me a dependable running game I was able to utilize a more ball control offense.
JR WR turned into an impact target on the outside utilizing his big frame; 6'4" and 227, to become a big time redzone threat to compliment the best athlete on my team in JR WR Sharpe on the other side of the field.
On the defensive side I had two FR really step up and became leaders of my defense in my big time recruit from the year before in LB Matt Morgan and DT Blake Lott.

Recruiting wise I didn't land an impact recruit like the year before, but I was able to sure up some holes in my defense and again on the OL. I didn't look at any players on the offensive specialist side as I am more concerned on getting my defense clicking as they did cost me a couple games this year where I offensively scored points but my CPU defense just caved in.

Re: How is your dynasty going
in year 4 i'm playing with CAL Bears 2nd year with them.
1st year simmed real life coach.
2nd year 1st year as ULL Ragin Cajuns created. went like 7-5 or 8-5 with a bowl game. simmed half season. Schedule strength A
Had a HC who could recruit so didn't have to focus on it.
3rd year 1st year as DC for CAL Went 8-5 with bowl game win against the Cajuns.
HC can't not recruit and refuses to upgrade recruiting so kind of have to do recruiting duties. Recruiting class good got top 10 player and 2 5 stars. I got the 5 stars during OFFseason by just recruiting b/c no one were recruiting them.
Year 4 going into Just set my schedule A. 11 games season.
RS my 97 Star stud QB b/c had a back up 94 QB who were both Seniors and only 2 FR QB's so going need a stud QB for next year. Most of my starters return. & of my players were drafted.
Run a 3-4 multiple.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
So, I opted to restart my FIU dynasty using BYU's AA sliders and using Pitt's playbook, and the game is much more difficult... but still opened 1-0 with a 37-22 win over Maryland. It's like Maryland didn't come to play, was running the ball relatively easily. Still, it was much more difficult overall, definitely helps with this playbook to have a balanced attack.
And played the second game of the season vs. UCF. This one was a little tighter than the opener, I guess UCF wanted it more. Final score ended up 43-33, with less than a minute in the 4th it was 36-33. Very exciting, and satisfying to get a win against a team many see as better than mine.Last edited by tattoosandcigars; 12-30-2013, 10:42 AM.Comment
