Re: How is your dynasty going
UL-Lafayette suffered its first lost last night to Troy; fell into too deep a hole in the first half to climb out of once the offense woke up in the second, so we're 8-1 now and pending a fall from our #24 spot in the Coaches Poll. Running what amounts to a Pistol Run & Shoot offense with the Zone Read as the run base, my I-back rushed for 120 and QB threw for nearly 300, but it wasn't enough to save the day. Playing in Coach mode, as I've been playing this title since '97 (skipped '02 because I was too broke to afford a PS2 at the time) and now enjoy being a straight-up playcaller, seeing how my players perform w/o "undue" direct influence from me. My QB throws some of the wildest misses (Tebow-style) around, so I'm considering an adjustment of the user QB accuracy slider from 5 to 10. Does anyone out there run their dynasties similarly (coach mode), or is that what everyone means by "sim" playing?Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
So I'm starting my second season with Nebraska (coming off a 38-28 Nat championship over USC). I was shocked to see Texas State go undefeated... including a Sugar Bowl win over Alabama. Now they've started out season two 4-0. Anyone else experience anything like this? A nobody team sitting on a 17 game win streak?INACTIVEComment

Re: How is your dynasty going
Uh oh the gameplay is starting to turn stale for me. Sucks their wont bee a new NCAA to keep things fresh. Maybe if I take a break and come back it will be fine again.
The little things are starting to bother me. Especially CPU being very predictable on defense. They telegraph whether they are blitzing, man to man, or zone, I had to make a house rule of no audibles once I choose my play.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
Finished season 1 of my UNO (Nebraska-Omaha) dynasty. Went 2-2 to start the year including a near upset at Nebraska in the opening week, losing 24-27. The next week, I got blown out 49-17 at Indiana before registering two wins vs Akron and UNK. I simulated the rest of the season except for recruiting as I am anxious to start the next season with a few good gems I've found. Finished the year 4-8, with 6 out of the 8 losses were decided by 7 points or less.
Key recruits:
***QB Patrick Pace 74 OVR Scrambler
***G Avery Roberts 75 OVR
***DE Will Wright 68
***OLB Josh Hall 65
Finished with the #75 class, not bad for being ranked 112 in the preseason polls.
CONFERENCE CHAMPS:
ACC: North Carolina beat Florida State 31-26
American: Temple
Big 12: Texas
Big Ten: Ohio State beat Nebraska 49-17

MWC: Boise State beat San Diego State 28-7
PAC-12: Oregon beat USC 42-26
SEC: Texas A&M beat Florida 24-17

Re: How is your dynasty going
Just finished my first season with Iowa State. I went 8-4 and 5-4 in the Big XII. Started out 5-0 with wins over rival Iowa(who is ranked #20 now), Texas and Texas Tech on the road. I then lost the next 2 games to Baylor and Oklahoma State, before upsetting Kansas State who was #2 at the time. 2nd time in the last few years an Iowa State team has pulled off an upset against a team in the top 2 of the AP poll. I would lose to TCU and Oklahoma, before going to West Virginia and playing a clock draining running game to pull it out 17-13. I don't have any players up for final awards. I mainly ran with both senior RB's Jeff Woody and James White. Usually I just like to have one guy to ground and pound.
We are also ranked #23rd in the polls and next take on #25 Michigan State Spartans in the BW3's bowl in Arizona. A win, and Iowa State can have 9 wins in the season for the first time since 2000.

Re: How is your dynasty going
I won the Almo bowl with USC over Iowa state 23-3.
Andre Williams from BC lead the nation with 3,078 rushing yards.. Ridiculous.
Oregon defeats Louisville 45-38 in OT to win the NC. There only loss of the year came from Oregon State.. Going to be interesting to see how that rivalry plays out.
0-12 Cal hired Oregons offensive coordinator as HC. We'll see if he can turn the bears around.
Now it's time to play Madden.NFL - Las Vegas Raiders
NBA - Los Angeles Lakers
MLB - Los Angeles Dodgers
NHL - Los Angeles Kings
MLS - Los Angeles Galaxy

Re: How is your dynasty going
Should I delete my EWU dynasty. I feel like I'm just wasting my time cause nobody looks at it I feel. And I just started a dynasty with Tennessee on AA and beat USF like 106-31. I'm doing a 2 qb systems with Worley and Dobbs. Whoever had the better game last game starts. They play one quarter and the other plays the second quarter. Whoever played better plays the second half. I use Auburn's playbook and it is basically unstoppable. Both guys were nearly perfect and I was perfect on third down. 13-13. But Worley dominated. He started 6-6 for 4 TDs. He ran for 80 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter. He got hurt early in the 3rd though but Dobbs did a good job. Pig Howard had a monster game. He had like 10 catches and 6 of them were TDs.NCAA-Ohio State

Re: How is your dynasty going
It took six seasons of working up from Georgia State, but I finally managed to put together a 14-0 season, and take the Natty as Stanford's HC. Great comeback win against South Carolina and their Heisman winning QB. Totally shut them down in the second half after going down 17-0 early. Ended up winning 31-17 behind our Jr. Qb Marcus McDaniel, a great supporting cast, and a defense that really found itself in the second half of the year.
After going 26-2 in two years at Stanford, and with a top 5 recruiting class on the way in, I had every intention of staying, but then Mack Brown retired. Since I had cut my teeth as an OC at Texas four years earlier, I couldn't turn the job down when I was at the top of their list.
I'll just give a bit of a recap of my first year as the new HC of CFB's largest brand (after starting from, perhaps, the smallest brand in FBS).
Interesting situation coming into the Horns, absolutely loaded everywhere, but QB, where they were hurting hard. A 77ovr rated RS Senior, 6'0" 190lbs, with average passing ability and 52 speed, and a 6'4" 245lb RS Freshman rated 74ovr, with poor passing, and rated as a scrambler with 65 speed. There is one other QB on the roster so bad he isn't worth mentioning.
First game was the Cowboy Kickoff (or whatever it's called) against Florida, and man was it a hard one. We ended up overcoming two horrible QB performances to prevail 24-23. Couldn't move the ball at all in the second half.
Game two against FAU both QB's got a chance and struggled equally. Our defense scored two td's. We won 38-34, and gave up all of those 34 points in the second half.
Game three we blew out Wake Forest 44-17, but again, QB play was horrible, and there were some real consistency issues run blocking, and just in general offensively.
Game four was the Red River Rivalry, and our lack of polish on offense finally caught up to us. We turned the ball over seven times (!!!), but still managed to keep it within a touchdown halfway through the fourth quarter—before ultimately throwing a pick six and finally caving. We lost 38-17 in the end. Lost the nation's #1 recruit to OU in the loss too. Worst game I played in in my six year career so far.
Game five against Iowa St: More horrible play by the offense. Couldn't run the ball, couldn't pass, just a mess. Thankfully, the defense pitched a gem of a game, despite being on the field the entire time. Still rotating the two QB's out of necessity at this point. Ended up winning 38-3, but the points scored flatter the offense's execution. The defense and special teams gave them awesome field position all game long.
Most recently, game six vs. TCU at home. Offense was horrible in the first quarter and the defense took this game off. At one point in the second quarter I was down 24-3. My run game, despite having a 98 and 94 ovr HB, and what should be a great line, could not run the ball (nor have they all season). I essentially had to abandon the run, and...it...worked? TCU had zero pass defense in this one, and my terrible interception machine of a RS Senior QB had the anomalous game of his life. He ended up 38/52 434 yards, 5td's and 2int. I don't run the air raid or anything, and I don't think I've ever had to throw the ball that many times in an NCAA game. We won 48-45 after a 15 yard FG to cap a wheezy final drive where we kept pumping the brakes, and almost braked too soon, and then not soon enough.
I just hope we have a QB now who can dish to the incredibly deep and talented corps of receivers we have. Our pass blocking has been pretty good all year, but we cannot run block to save our lives.
Currently 5-1 in my first year with Texas. We're ranked 5th in the land, but this team is nowhere near elite in terms of execution. These guys couldn't sniff my old Stanford squad (who are currently #1 and pounding the hell out of everyone). Heck, they probably couldn't beat my UCF team from three seasons ago either.Comment
