Re: How is your dynasty going
Just had a tough loss in my dyansty. Took the HC job at Utah who is coming off of an 0-12 season. Like an 84 ovr team right now. Started the season off with a loss to Stanford then a loss to USC. Had Cal next
Went up early. I made some bad decisions and threw 2 pick sixes to let them back into the game. Was down by a FG with about 3 minutes left but drove easily downfield conserving clock. I got stopped short on 3rd down at the goalline though. Debated going for it, but decided to go into OT as I had no issue moving the ball. in OT I get the ball first. I'm at the 2 yard line on 2nd and goal and audible to a pass play. my WR appears to have beat the press coverage on a quick out so I try to throw to him. QB is hit as he throws and the ball squirts out in front of him, ruled a fumble. Cal's d-linemen picks it up. watching the replay his arm was clearly going forward but I can't challenge because it's OT. Cal kicks the gamewinning FG and I am now 0-3.
Right now I currently have the 2nd worst job security in the league, in front of Cam Cameron for Arkansas. My target wins is 7, hopefully I can string together a couple of Ws and hit that 7 win markComment

Re: How is your dynasty going
Well I'm an offensive guy. So I usually pick ones that usually keep it interesting offensively for me. That eliminates the Wildcat plan to me since using just that formation would get very repetitive & boring to me. 1* to 6* is usually cool to me since I have to put a lot of work into it. "Restoring the glory" is sometimes cool to me too, as long as the team is not that good right now (Restoring Tennessee might be more fun than Nebraska, unless you like playing in the B1G).Who Dey!

Re: How is your dynasty going
I want to start a dynasty with a team where I can work my way up the coaching ranks. I want to start out at a small school and stay there for a couple years (3-4). Any ideas?Gig'em Aggies!Comment

In the previous 3 seasons Vanderbilt had only won 5 games so my hopes were not high for this year but we were playing a soft nonconference schedule that included Troy, Middle Tennessee State and FCS Southeast. If everything went right I thought we might get to 6 wins on the year, well we got out to a 3-1 start on the year edging out a tough Ole Miss squad 42-33 before we lost our next two games against Missouri (9-4) and Florida (11-3) to bring our record back to 3-3. Behind the strong arm of fifth year senior Patton Robinette (193/326, 2886 yds, 24tds and 4ints) along with the running back tandem of redshirt sophomore John Davis (175 car, 940 yds, 12 tds) and redshirt junior Raphael Webb (160 car, 825 yds, 9tds) we managed to win six of our last seven games including an Outback Bowl victory against Iowa to finish the year 9-4. We had the 33rd best offense in the country and only the 78th toughest schedule but our defense was terrible at 97th in the country. We exceeded all my expectations this year but I know a crash back to earth is coming next year with many of our best players graduating, our defense will not improve much and we will be playing a tougher schedule.

NEWS:
We managed to pull in the #1 kicker in the nation Alex Malone (6'0, 177, 83ovr) from Wrightsboro North Carolina. His interest were Academics, Conference prestige, and Playing time, all of which I was rated an A+. Florida was battling me for his services but we won out. We also signed sophomore JUCO QB Riley Brown (6'1. 175, 71 ovr, 86 spd) who will hopefully be able to help us in the coming years. Overall the class was about as good as I could expect for us being a one star team. We finished #83 in the nation but dead last in the SEC again which does not bode well for our future. Our national ranking was helped by the computer signing seven players I did not go after (all of which were cut in the offseason).

Re: How is your dynasty going
Year 5 (Year 1 as Oregon OC) went exactly as it did in real life this past year. Losses to Stanford and Arizona had us worry if we would compete for the Pac-12 title, but Cal beating Stanford in the 2nd to last week of Pac-12 play put us back into position to win the North. We come out against Oregon State and drop 73 to clinch the North, but UCLA came in and avenged a earlier collapse against us in the CCG. Ended the season in the Alamo Bowl, and we bounce back against TCU with a 56-30 win to finish the year 11-3.
The offense was led by RS Jr QB Evan Cox. The 2nd-team All-American led the team in passing (nation-leading 3905 yds (school record), 39 TDs (school record)) and rushing (1220 yds, 15 TDs). RS Jr RB Kory Hick also rushed for over 1000 yards, while RS Soph Marcus Ward was our leading receiver (school-record 1145 yds, 10 TDs). Cox finished 2nd for all 4 awards he was eligible for.
Now for the review of the year I will like to call "The Year of Mid-Majors"

Re: How is your dynasty going
Decided to get back into NCAA after watching the Bowl Games... Abandoning my old NMSU OC Dynasty since I was running the Read Option and I was just doing too well (We had 9 wins my 2nd year... That's literally almost unheard of at NMSU lol)
Decided to start up with Idaho and be the OC there using the Spread Playbook. Using Yukon's rosters... We have a pretty good QB, 2 Good WR's and a Decent HB. I like the Spread playbook since you can throw it 60+ times a game or you can have a more run oriented offense. I plan on using it both ways depending on how good my players are...
First 2 games were disasters. Lost At North Texas 7-48 the first week and 3-45 At Wyoming in the Second Week. I am actually having fun though even with the blowouts.
It was funny because I looked up the scores from real life and Idaho lost 6-40 against NT and 10-42 against Wyoming so the scores look great so far. Auburn also barely survived Wazzu the first week like irl.
Also using some recruiting restrictions to make the game more fun for me. Since I am a 1 Star I am only allowed to recruit a max of 2 *** only from my Homestate. **'s have to be interested and from my pipelines and * are free. This way I cannot pull in 10+ *** every year with a terrible team like I did in my NMSU Dynasty. All 14 of the guys I am going after I am in the Lead for so it's promising so far (including both ***)Last edited by jjbreez90; 01-08-2014, 06:07 AM.Green Bay Packers - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim - Washington HuskiesComment

4-0 as Pitt's head coach with a 24-21 win in Iowa. Then a 35-7 win over North Carolina, 4 turnovers (3 INTs 1 Fumble Recovery) played a huge role in this game. Now I'm halfway to the goal for season wins, with a game at Duke on the docket next.Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
Have a dynasty with USC I'm 10-3 ranked number 12 heading into the Almo bowl to play 24th ranked Iowa State who is 8-4. My losses were to Notre Dame on the road who is 9-3 and ranked 14th to Stanford at home who is 9-3 and ranked number 4, and to Oregon in the PAC 12 championship who is 12-1 and playing in the national title game against number 1 Louisville.
Oregon was on it's way to an undefeated season before they lost the civil war to Oregon State the game before the PAC 12 championship.
Cal went winless at 0-12.
Andre Williams from BC came in second for the heisman despite. Having 402 carries for 2952 yards and 29 TD's. He still has the bowl game to get 48 yards to hit 3,000 for the season.
Kasey Carrier from New Mexico won the heisman with 334 carries 2,072 yards and 22 TD's. New Mexico is 11-1, but not ranked in the top 25.NFL - Las Vegas Raiders

Re: How is your dynasty going
Have an off-line dynasty going with 1* Louisiana-Lafayette (I've got a thing for teams with helmet pride stickers). Started off 6-0 with unaltered AA settings before I found this site and learned about slider settings; tried the unleash infinity 3.0 set and won my last two, though neither was easy and I actually struggled to beat NMSU at home (an ESPN classic). Learning tons here!Comment

Re: How is your dynasty going
So I'm starting my second season with Nebraska (coming off a 38-28 Nat championship over USC). I was shocked to see Texas State go undefeated... including a Sugar Bowl win over Alabama. Now they've started out season two 4-0. Anyone else experience anything like this? A nobody team sitting on a 17 game win streak?Comment

ULM - 49
BAY- 24
(NORWOOD CONTINUED HIS STELLAR PLAY THROWING THREE FIRST HALF TOUCHDOWNS)
MONROE- Coming off a win over TCU where he was 21-23, Sophomore Vince Norwood continued his mid season transformation by lighting up the Baylor Bears at home and helping the Warhawks win their 27th straight home game. Norwood would throw all three of his touchdowns in the second quarter finding Holland on a 23 yard touchdown, then connected two more times with Anthony Thomas from 16 and 34 yards out. The Warhawks would hit the half up 35-17 and never looked back going 7 for 7 on third downs while Heisman front runner Nathan Ervin added 130 yards and three more touchdowns.
NEAR PERFECT!!!
ULM - 42
TTECH- 10
(A TIPPED PASS THAT LED TO AN INTERCEPTION WAS NORWOOD'S
ONLY INCOMPLETION)
MONROE - During the week the Warhawks moved up to the No. 2 ranking in the BCS, giving them hope to defend their national championship. The momentum carried over into the Texas Tech game as the Warhawks won their 28th straight home game. Vince Norwood, who struggled to start the season has lit up the oppostion as of late and that hasnt stopped against Texas Tech. Norwood was 19-20 for 357 yards passing and four touchdowns, his lone blemish a tipped pass that led to an interception. Nick Gibson and Ron Holland went over the century mark in receiving yards and the Warhawks stellar defense shut down the nations fifth best passing attack. Averaging 410 yards per game the Red Raiders and quarterback Mark Madison only threw for 158 yards and was sacked 7 times losing two to fumbles.
ERVIN-THING AS ADVERTISED!!
ULM - 66
ARK ST- 21
(NATHAN ERVIN GAINED A SEASON HIGH 320 YARDS AGAINST A DEPLETED ARKANSAS STATE TEAM)
JONESBORO - for the most part Nathan Ervin has been putting up quite the numbers, in fact the finalist for the NCAA end of the season awards were announced this week and he was a finalist for three top awards including the Doak Walker for the nations top running back. He didnt disappoint on Thursday night. Ervin, who only touched the ball 11 times scored four times and averaged 29 yards per carry. He would have touchdown runs of 80 yards, 59, 35 and 13 yards on his big night. In fact the Warhawks took a 42-0 lead into halftime and went up 56 points before Arkansas State finally scored on the second team defense. His performance helped Norwood who started slow throwing two early interceptions. Gipson and Holland were still able to get over 100 yards receiving for the second straight game and the defense recorded five sacks to go along with its two interceptions which both were returned. The Warhawks return home for the seasons final two games.
SECOND HALF KNOCKOUT!!
ULM - 44
OU - 14
(IT WAS A LONG NIGHT FOR OKLAHOMA QUARTERBACK
RYAN RICHARDSON, THE HEISMAN HOPEFUL MAY BE LEFT OFF MOST BALLOTS AFTER THIS PERFORMANCE)
MONROE - Coming off of a bye week the Warhawks finally grabbed the No.1 ranking in the BCS after the Florida Gators were upset by unranked South Carolina 31-10. Coming into town on a ABC Nationally televised game was the No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners who were 8-2, those coming by way of No. 3 Ohio State and No. 4 Texas. The Sooners, also led by Heisman hopeful quarterback Ryan Richardson were on a four game winning streak and looking for the schools toughest game on the road since traveling to Ohio State to start the year.
Richardson would lead the season into the half tied at 14. But the Warhawks opened up the second half on another level.
The Warhawks defense led by Nagurski finalist Sam Harris recorded two sacks including one on the first play of the third quarter, safety Andy Henderson on the next play picked off a screen pass and returned it 11 yards for a touchdown and Malone stadium was rocking putting the Warhawks up 23-14. The Warhawks defense would forced another interception and force a fumble from Richardson as well as a safety, and after a 34 yard touchdown run by Nathan Ervin the Warhawks were up 37-14 heading into the fourth quarter.
Richardson was 17-24 for just 159 yards and two intercepitons while being sacked four times all in the third quarter. His counterpart Vince Norwood was 18-22 for 237 yards and three touchdown passes two going to Biletnikof finalist Nick Gibson. The Warhawks improved to 29 straight home games and have a showdown with Texas for the Big 12 South title.
HOW THE SOUTH WAS WON!!
ULM - 52
UT - 38
(IT WAS ANOTHER HUGE GAME FOR NATHAN ERVIN BUT DEFENSE PROVED TO SEAL THE DEAL FOR THE WARHAWKS)
MONROE - The Warhawks have won 29 straight games at home, but that didnt deter the Longhorns from trying to pull the upset Saturday afternoon on Senior day. Star Linebacker Sam Harris and 10 other players were playing their final game at Malone Stadium and Texas made sure it would be a memorable one. Last season the Warhawks went into DKR Memorial Stadium and battle back to an overtime win over the Longhorns, this time they didnt let it get to over time. After taking a 24-21 lead into halftime the Longhorns looked to have the edge after going up 31-21 when Smith hit wide receiver M Greco for a 79 yard touchdown. Smith was playing the game of his life as he passed for 295 yards and three touchdowns on 14 of 14 passing.
The resoning behind this was coverage bust according to head coach Eddie Polly. "The Longhorns have the seond best rushing attack in the country, we focused on that and bit hard on play fakes, but we made the right adjustments."
Sticking to their offensive gameplan after seeing Norwood throw two first half interceptions the Warhawks fed the monster in Nathan Ervin who had 6 runs over 20 yards. His long runs set up short touchdown passes for Norwood in the first half and in the third quarter his 34 yard touchdown run put the Warhawks down three points. Smith was feeling the pressure as the conference top defense was finally getting to him and he threw his first of three interceptions which led to the Warhawks tying the game. After trading scores to tie the game at 38 points in the fourth quarter the Warhawks used Henderson 26 yard interception return to take a 45-38 lead. The Longhorns with just three minutes remaining would get all the way to the Warhawks five yard line when junior corner Justin Allen grabbed his third interception of the season stalling the longhorns. Back up tailback David Pollack kept the crowd pumped when he squeezed through a small whole up the middle bursting for a 65 yard touchdown as the Warhawks tried to run the clock out putting them up 52-38 where the final score would stand. The Warhawks now have a NCAA best 30 game home winning streak and clinched the Big 12 South and a trip to the Bog 12 Conference Championship game.
SOONERS AND WARHAWKS TO MEET AGAIN!!
THE WARHAWKS ARE 3-0 AGAINST THE SOONERS INCLUDING A VICTORY OVER THEM IN LAST SEASONS BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. A FEW AGO THE WARHAWKS ALSO BEAT THE SOONERS IN MONROE 44-14
