Re: How is your dynasty going

Here's something that's never happened to me before. I started my dynasty as the OC at Penn St. After two good years (made the NC game year 2 but lost), I took the HC job at Hawaii. Two good seasons there beating up on the MWC and I was ready to take a big time HC job. Texas A&M passed me over but my next offer was from Penn St! Coming off a 2-10 season they were looking for a new HC and wanted me back. Cool part is a few of my best recruits from my first year are seniors now and really good.

I made a post weeks ago about a stud athlete I recruited who could've played about 6 positions. I left him as a QB when I left for Hawaii. Now I'm back and he's a 96 OVR senior with throwing skills in the 90s and 98 speed! Plus O'Brien put together the #1 recruiting class despite going 2-10 so I have some good freshmen to work with too. Should make for a fun year..

Started over with Iowa St. Figured they have never really been a powerhouse and always in the bottom of the Big XII, so wanted to see if I could have them take over the big XII.

First game of the season we played Texas St. Wasn't even close. 45-13 was the final. Soph QB Sam Richardson was awesome. Went 13-18 for 241 yards and 2 TDs. He also added 102 yards on the ground and 2 more rushing TD's.
Our Senior RB Jeff Woody had 89 yards and 2 scores. Receiving wise we had our Senior TE Ernest Brun with 80 yards and a score, with junior receiver Jarvis West adding 3 catches for 52 yards.
MLB Jeremiah George also had a big day. 6 tackles, 2 for loss, and 1 interception. RS freshman Luke Knott did well taking over for his brother who was ISU's linebacker for many years, compiling 5 tackles, all of them solos.
Next up is a bye before we take on in-state rival Iowa @ home.

Re: How is your dynasty going

Conference play opened up in the American conference. The SMU Mustangs travelled to Memphis to take on the Tigers. What looked like a close game to begin as Memphis had a 6 point lead after the first quarter but that proved to be their only lead.

The Mustangs lead by Senior quarterback Garrett Gilbert were at full force as they took a 14-6 lead into halftime. Halftime opened up with a 101 yd kick return touchdown by SMU to widen the lead even more. After that it was a blowout as SMU ran away with it 49-6.

Gilbert ended up with 430 yds and 3 passing touchdowns to lead the way. Neal Burcham came in for mop up and threw for 100 yds and a passing and rushing score.

Up next for SMU is a home game as they're hosting Temple along with two heralded recruits. A 4* quarterback and a 5* receiver. Stay tuned for some more Pony Express Revived!

Tulane Football: From Worst to First

              Here's today's (somewhat) brief summary:

Week 11 @ Tulsa: This game was close at first, but as the game continued Tulsa simply over us. Their running game was AMAZING. And we came into the game with a top-10 run defense. They did everything, we couldn't do anything. But still, Final Score: Tulsa 38, Tulane 23

Week 12 vs. North Texas: THIS GAME WAS A HEARTBREAKER!!! We didn't do much of anything at first, then QB Tim Ashley did his usual thing at the end of a game. It's become a thing now, as Devin Powell continues to miss time w/ a rib injury. Down 27-6, Ashley would lead the Wave down the field for THREE straight TD drives. Draws it to 27-26. Then the UNTHINKABLE happens...

After scoring the third touchdown to pull it within 1, Coach Willingham decides to go for the win. He wants to end the game right there. We line up, in the Wildcat. The play was "Mtn Option Pass". The CPU, being stupid, called 3 straight timeouts. I hesitate & contemplate just kicking the extra point. But I had confidence in the play I was gonna run (it got me the last TD, after all). I run the play, AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENS???

The WR was supposed to run in motion to the QB, then help facilitate the Option play. But the Camera View in the game screws up before the ball is snapped, and when I press (A), the QB took off with the ball before the WR completed his motion. THE PLAY GLITCHED!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I instant-replayed, I was shocked. What could've been a BIG upset (not really: North Texas was 1-7), turned into a shocking, heartbreaking, appalling LOSS. Final Score: North Texas 27, Tulane 26. The Green Wave have to win out now to even have a CHANCE at a bowl bid.

Week 13 vs. UTEP: The Green Wave rebounded from the heartbreaking loss to North Texas with a BIG second-half performance on Senior Day. Again, it took till the 2nd half for the Wave offense to get going, but once again, its players came up big. Tim Ashley (in his 3rd straight start at QB) had a MONSTER game, racking up 124 yards in the air to add to his 114 yards rushing (23 carries). I ran my QB HARD in this game. RB Orleans Darkwa also carried much weight in his last game in the Superdome as a member of the Green Wave, gaining 112 yards on 20 carries. The defense played AWFUL in the first half, giving up 4 touchdowns and over 250 yards. But they played LOCKDOWN defense in the second half, not sacrificing a single point. Tim Ashley was "Player of the Game" in a sensational performance. It was a comeback again, but a win's a win. Final Score: Tulane 34, UTEP 28

The Green Wave (5-6) travel to Houston, TX to battle the Rice Owls in the season finale. It's a winner-take-all: winner gets a bowl bid! Tune in later for the Rice update!

Not bad. Though I don't really care for the font.

When I get home I'll send you some more logos to try out. I wanna sport multiple looks for Season 3. Thanks!

Rolling with UNLV in season 2. I'm 5-6 heading into the last week. I lost the de facto West division championship game to SDSU in a 40-37 classic game. I was able to score 16 points in under 3 minutes to avoid losing in regulation, but I was picked off on a 4th and 13 in overtime as my kicker did not have the leg to make the long field goal...what I would do to recruit a decent kicker.

Week 11 of my 2021 dynasty with Georgia. Our next opponent was Ole Miss. I had probably the tightest game in my entire career. It wasn't a shootout, but it was a defensive battle. My QB only threw, like, one touchdown pass and got intercepted four times. We were tied at 10 and then Ole Miss scored a touchdown to make it 17-10. I ran for a touchdown to make it 17-16. Went for a two point conversion but failed. I managed to get the ball back with under a minute left in the game. There was a crucial moment where it was 4th & 7. Thank you to my TE who jumped in the air for the ball to convert it. Once it got down to three seconds, I was at the 40 yard line of the opposite field to attempt a field goal. I called timeout before the clock went down any further. Three times....THREE TIMES! Ole Miss called all of their time outs to try to freeze my kicker. Well, Antifreeze was activated. I kicked the field goal and it....is.....GOOD! Final Score: Georgia 19, Ole Miss 17.

EDIT: I finally had a game that wasn't a blowout. I was on All-American difficulty for both offense and defense. As good as a game it was, I may adjust the sliders because even though it happens in real life, no way do I want my QB to get intercepted four times like that again.
