Re: How is your dynasty going
In about season 5, Mid Tenn State Blue Raiders. Playing as OC. My offence is 95 OVR, Defence about 78. I went 12-0. I only beat 1 "good" team, in Nebraska. The rest were around my mid 80's overall. Some close wins, some FG as time expired wins, and a few blow outs of mid 70's teams like Old Dominion.
As I get to the C-USA Championship game, I'm the #1 ranked team in the country. Despite only beating one ranked team all season. And in the Championship game, I'm playing Rice, who have the #2 next to them.
I don't know much about college football, and the hierarchy of it all, but isn't the C-USA not terribly good? Based on the teams I beat in it, and their overall ratings, it suggests the division is fairly average. Anyway, I beat Rice by a FG, and now I'm playing the Oklahoma Sooners for the National Champs, they are 99 across the board so I'm likely to get spanked.
I think the super sim on defence helped me to go undefeated, plus a weak schedule, but it all seems a little strange!Comment

Tulane Football: From Worst to First
LAST blog for the 2013 Season (Season 2 of the series). Gotta vent a little bit, though. This last game against Rice LITERALLY almost made me rage quit this dynasty as a whole. But I guess that means I FINALLY have a true challenge on my hands. So I'm gonna "keep on truckin' " as expected. Wish me luck!
FYI, I'm gonna start posting offseason stuff tomorrow. Got a lotta big recruiting news! Also gonna unveil some new things I'm gonna do for my series for Season 3. Including PHOTOS and more! I'll also be unveiling some new decorative banners thanks to BleedGreen710!
David Sinclair's latest blog post can be seen below or at http://www.operationsports.com/kswgr...-rice-flopper/.
Enjoy!
Staying Home for Bowl Season after Rice Flopper
by David Sinclair
Tulane's Green Wave football team entered today's game vs. the Rice Owls with one goal in mind: GET TO A BOWL GAME. Well, doesn't look like they'll be crossing that off their list this season. After today's 55-38 debacle in Houston, which left many frustrated, the Wave will reside on their living room couches this Bowl Season. Coach Kaelyn Willingham vented his frustrations after the game.
"I'm just disgusted. Not disgusted, but disappointed. I feel for this football team and this University. While our hopes for a bowl bid were sky high, THIS is not what they deserved. I'm very frustrated right now."
Tulane will finish the season with a 5-7 record including going 4-4 in Conference USA play. While they did win 50% of their conference games to finish 5th overall in the 14-team conference, by NCAA rule their seventh loss prevents them from receiving any sort of bowl invitation. As for the Rice game itself, it left more questions than answers.
"Who's the quarterback next year? That's something my assistant coaches & I will decide, as players return in February for Spring practices."
Devin Powell returned to the field for the Rice game for the first time in over a month, much to the chagrin of many Tulane faithful. They had seen Freshman QB Tim Ashley do a fine job leading the offense the past few weeks and wanted to see that streak continue. Powell played the first half and was largely ineffective. Though much of that can't be placed on his shoulders. The Wave offensive line was lackluster for much of the game, giving way to a sack-fumble that Rice would return for an early touchdown. The Owls would strike gold in the same fashion on the very next drive. Before the Wave could get a first down, Rice was in the lead, 14-0. Again, playing catch-up seemed to be Tulane's approach.
"We've gotta improve that going into next season. You can't win games consistently when you're always playing catch-up." said Coach Willingham.
The Wave wouldn't quit just yet, however. Sophomore CB Renaldo Thomas, who's been making plays all season, would intercept a Taylor McHargue pass in the endzone & return it for a 105-yd TD return. As expected, the game would be a 14-7 shootout early in the first. To everyone's surprise, all three 1st-qtr touchdowns would be on DEFENSE. The Wave would soon tie things up after RB Orleans Darkwa returned his 2nd kick return touchdown of the season.
To no surprise, Willingham would turn to Tim Ashley (dubbed "The Freshman Phenom" by students on campus) in the second half. Ashley did as expected, turning a likely blowout into a close contest. But even he would have his struggles. The Green Wave would pull the game to within three at 41-38 Rice late in the 4th quarter, but turnovers again would kill this team, a team coming into the game at -11 in turnover ratio (120th in the nation). The defense also provided no help, as Rice HB Turner Peterson gouged the Wave front seven, gaining 173 yards on just 19 carries, including two long touchdown runs. Before it was all said-and-done, Tulane knew their season was drawing to a close. Final Score: Rice 55, Tulane 38.
"We just gotta improve for next year. That's all. No doubt about it." said Willingham.
Coach Willingham also mentioned the recruits that the Wave are bringing in, which includes a number of 4-star players.
"We're excited for the players we're bringing into the program, and we're excited for our future. The future of this football team and this program. But as this season has shown us, sometimes you gotta get through grunt work before you can achieve glory."
That will be the message for this team in the offseason. "Work for Glory." It will be posted on banners across the Tulane campus as it is a good message for both athletes and students. Recruiting information on the Green Wave football team will be posted in the coming weeks.
Willingham: "We're close, we're just not their yet. We got a ways to go, but with hard work and determination, we'll get there."
The Green Wave close out their history in Conference USA in losing fashion, but there were some highlights during the team's 35-year run. Including the high-flying days of Mack Brown & Tommy Bowden of the 1990's. The Wave will embark on a new journey into a new conference, as they join many other former C-USA teams in the then-Big East, now American Athletic Conference. They'll encounter old foes such as Houston, SMU and Central Florida, but will also meet some new friends in Cincinnati, UConn and Temple. 2014 Green Wave football information will be distributed in the coming months well into the offseason. Stay tuned!
Roll Wave! See you next season!

Re: How is your dynasty going
I just cant get into it again and just cant keep going on with UK. I dont want to rebuild in the SEC and I've frankly had enough of UK lol. Last restart I promise.
I've narrowed down my choice of school to Clemson or Virginia Tech. Relevant teams nows that I can create challenges for, and not just hope into a national title year 1.
I honeslty cant choose between the two so far though, so I need help from the OS world to decide. Please PM me who you'd rather I take over for, Clemson or VT, and the winner will be the school.
PM me dont post here... I dont wanna spam the forum and I won't be checking his thread enough anyways.

Training for next seasonAlso trying to decide who will be my starting QB and HB. Thinking of starting my backup tight end (who was a converted fullback, after being converted from halfback) at halfback. He has all the right ratings and he's a senior (I usually give the edge to Seniors in position battles). Currently a 94 OVR HB but the other HB is 95 with similar ratings. As for QB.. Junior Jamaal Williams is in a battle with a sophomore and a freshman.

They're both ACC teams that have lots of orange though so I realize it's hard to pick hahaComment

Re: How is your dynasty going
I should mention too please dont take into consideration ratings. Both teams will be "adjusted" to be lowered in terms of their overalls, and some of their uber prospects will be slightly nerfed, so that they're both starting from the same point. This should be about which school you'd find more enjoyable to follow as far as the personnel goes and other small things.

Re: How is your dynasty going
Here goes my Year 7 recap, to be honest I really just wanted to get started on Year 8 so I just copied my notes I take during the games/season and pasted it here. If you have any issues understanding what some of my shortcuts mean, just pm or ask. And if you really would rather have the 15-page writeup, be sure to let me know as I really only do it for you guys. Reading dictionary.com and thesaurus.com isnt for my benefit. lol. Without further ado....
Key to understanding Notes
-= either something the other team did good, or something my team did bad or just a general note. Read over it a couple times and look at the context.

1. Michigan- simply because of the tradition
2. Ohio State - Been a fan and love the Scarlet and Grey though I doubt that job will open any time soon with the success Urban Meyer has been having
3. LSU - would look good in purple also could keep Texas roots in recruiting and also get to play against SEC.
4. USC - Lawson's alma mater and would be good to return them to prominence
5. Oregon - My players would look good. Would also be fun to try and conform the first few years till I recruited to an offensive and defensive scheme I like

2 WR Cedrick Morton SR (99)
Players I am most excited about/looking forward to playing with:
QB Korey Gandy SO (89) Starting QB 6'2 193lbs
I always had a liking for this guy ever since I was recruiting him since he's from a town that's 10 minutes away from me (Which is really crazy considering I live in Maine). He has high speed and better ball carrier ratings then last years starter Jamaal Williams, including a nice 79 carrying compared to Williams 55. They both have the same accuracy (90) but Gandy has a weaker arm. Its still good enough to get the job done though. As long as he doesn't commit turnovers every game he is an improvement from Jamaal Williams. I should note that he is much smaller then Jamaal Williams, who is 6'5 233lbs.
HB Demario Sparks SR (94) Starting HB 6'0 224lbs
Demario was recruited as an ATH, and was put at fullback to fill the teams need at the time. He never really got to show his full talent because the fullback was never involved much in my offense. After 1 year of fullback where he only had 4 rushes and 6 catches, he got moved to tight end where he was a backup. In 2019 he caught 6 passes and in 2020 he caught just 2. Its now his senior year and Coach K feels sorry for the kid, so he decided to move him to halfback, his natural position, and give him a shot as a starter. He is more of a power back then speed back. 89 Speed, 91 Trucking, 90 Elusiveness, 97 Stiff Arm, 99 Carrying to name a few ratings. Expect him to be a huge threat running routes out of the backfield or going in motion as he has 90 Catching, 82 Spectacular Catch, 90 Catch in Traffic, and 83 Route Running. That time as a tight end really improved his receiving.
WR Cedrick Morton SR (98) Starting WR 6'1 216lbs
Morton has just 1 career reception after being far back in the depth chart his first 3 seasons. Last year he was moved to the #4 WR, but with Leon Robbins catching everything his way there wasn't much passes going out to anyone else. Morton has good size and exceptional ball carrying abilities. He has 88 Trucking and 91 Elusiveness, along with some impressive receiving ratings like 99 Route Running, 98 Catch in Traffic, and 93 Catching. His only downside is his average 88 Speed, but look for Morton to make a lot of big plays with his yards after catch ability. He is also my #2 Kick/Punt Returner.
TE Buster Bryant FR (82) Starting Tight End 6'6 237lbs
Buster was the #1 Overall Recruit last season, and had Wyoming #1 on his list all season long. He has great size, and some really high ratings for a true freshman, including 81 Catching, 82 Route Running, 86 Catch in Traffic, 89 Break Tackle, 89 Trucking, and all blocking ratings in the mid 70s to low 80s. He wont be making many defenders whiff though, as he has just 75 Speed, 60 agility, and 78 acceleration. But it should be really fun plowing through the poor defensive backs who have to try and bring this man down.
DT Tim Bowser JR (95) Starting DT 6'0 259lbs
Tim is a converted defensive end who is an unbelievable athlete. He has a stunning 86 Speed, 86 Strength, and 86 Acceleration. 88 Tackling, 93 Hit Power, 90 Power Moves, 85 Finesse Moves, and 92 Block Shedding make him tough to block. He was overshadowed last season by former Cowboy Leon Patterson (recent Wyoming Hall of Fame inductee), but this season he will be anchoring the defensive line. Look for him to have a big year.
OLB Will Savoy JR (91) Staring LOLB 6'2 226lbs
After being a backup for 2 years, Savoy is finally getting his chance to start. He has decent size but incredible toughness and athleticism. His best attributes are his 88 speed, 99 acceleration, and 99 hit power, along with 82 strength, and mid to high 80s in all defensive lineman ratings. He could be one of the leaders of my defense.
I will be playing my first game vs BYU shortly. They should be completely overmatched. Should be a fun season! Special thanks to the people who follow all my posts, you make it more fun for me!Comment
