Off to a 3-0 start in season 2 as Army OC, about to be 4-0 with an epic come from behind 27-24 win over Syracuse, and the game freezes in the post game highlights

Year one of a Miami Hurricanes Dynasty.

The Canes were the surprise of the entire nation. Expectations were not extremely high, but challenging for the ACC title was certainly in the fold. The Canes had stumbled out of the gate in week one needing a last minute drive to pull out a win vs FAU!! Down 17-13 Stephen Morris who up until this last drive was having a dreadful day tossing 4 count them 4 picks, led the Canes to a TD finishing off the drive with a swing pass to Duke Johnson Jr. who scampered in from 12 yards out with 12 ticks remaining. The Canes prevailed 20-17.

The local papers were hot. People calling for Ryan Williams to replace Morris and Coach Sword was already on the hot seat in year one of his 7 year contract. Sword who is a Stanford alum took what he called his dream job as Miami was home where he grew up before going west for school.

Well The Canes would proceed to reel off impressive wins at Florida (28-13), at USF (56-21), and then play a tough hard fought defensive battle in beating Ga.Tech 17-16.

Duke Johnson had been tearing up the country, but UM's defense was even more impressive. Chickilo was terrorizing QB's. Also S.Morris found his rhythm with Hurns and Dorsett as well as his TE Walford.

The Canes would then have wins over NC and Wake to climb into the top 25 and come into FSU ranked 15th.

In typical UM/FSU fashion the game was hard fought. Going into halftime the Canes clung to a 14-10 lead. FSU would take a 20-14 lead in the 4th quarter. UM with 3 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter would be pinned back on their own 5 yard line to begin a drive that would hopefully give them a lead. Morris would hand off the ball to sophomore sensation Duke Johnson Jr on a simple stretch play to the weak side when he would find daylight and take advantage of a run blitz to the strong side. He would go untouched 95 yards for an incredible TD run.

Canes would hold on for a 21-20 win in Tallahassee.


All of a sudden it was becoming apparent the Canes were for real this season. They flew up to #7 in the country. They would go on to reel off 2 more wins vs the Hokies and Blue Devils and reach #2 heading into a home game vs 2-8 Virginia.

Then things went horribly wrong.

The Cavaliers would jump on the Canes early in the 1st quarter. First a 15 play 80 yard TD drive. Then a Canes FG to cut it to 7-3, then the Cav's hit a quick strike 58 yard TD toss to their TE! 3 missed tackles would doom the Canes on that play.

14-3 at the half.

The Cav's would then only manage 3 points in the second half but it was enough. The Canes were marching in the 4th quarter down 17-13 and inside the Cav's 20 when Morris would get hit on his blind side while dropping back to throw. The ball squirted out like a watermelon seed and the Cav's would fall on it.

Game over. National title dreams are over.

The Canes finish up at Pitt and then on to the ACC title game. Recruiting class details will follow with an end of season report.


Needless to say NCAA 14 IMO is now for me hands down the best football game ever made.

Using buffeye's rosters with Matt 10 community sliders ( All American set with a ton of tweaking by myself but a great base with that set).

I have had a bit of bad luck in my Texas dynasty lately. I lost 2 hard fought Rose Bowls and then in year 5 I lost the National Championship to South Carolina 14-13 after my kicker missed 3 field goals. Year 6 has a new face at QB as red shirt freshman Ray Lemon takes over. We are 6-2. We lost to USC by 3 and Oklahoma by 7. Believe it or not USC is ranked #2 and Oklahoma #1. I am ranked 7th but it might be safe to say that I'm the 3rd best team in the country.

Finished the 2nd season as GSU's OC. Finished 6-6, turned down a contract extension until at least after season 3. Hoping to get over the hump and nail down a bowl bid this season as my offense has matured and my defense has some sweet new faces.

Wrapped up season one of my Army option dynasty and we finished 8-5, before you get all upset about me getting 8 wins let me tell you what happened. I scheduled a ton of cupcake schools, no fcs schools though. And we rolled through them. I didn't think we would do so well but we did have a ton of seniors who were decently effective. I am the OC and my original plan was to change them to an air raid team by season 3, but i ended up liking the Army option and just ran with it. This year i scheduled nothing but BCS conference teams, besides the warm up game and the rivalry games against Air Force and Navy.

Week 3 at Rutgers (Rivalry game)
Bye
Week 5 vs Maryland
Week 6 vs Air Force
Week 7 vs Illinois
Bye
Week 9 at Kentucky
Week 10 at Southern Miss

I red shirted Junior QB AJ Shurr last year to keep him around and that should help. My weakest area though is HB. I red shirted two senior HBs last year but want thinking clearly as they are both slow so the running game will be interesting. We did bring in two stud freshman WRs through recruiting which will help. Another area we are hurting is on defense but i landed two stud DEs to help minimize the fact our DTs look like players that would be starting on the fcs schools roster.

I think i am in for a tough year, i got lucky last year but this year i don't know.

What sliders are you all using? I don't remember which ones I had plugged in exactly, but during games I'm not registering assisted tackles at (and pancakes are super slow). If I sim games though there isn't any problem though...

Assisted tackles are rarely counted. It's been a glitch the last couple years.

Assisted tackles are rarely counted. It's been a glitch the last couple years.

It's just odd because in the first year of my dynasty they worked, but now in year four they hardly ever get counted. oh well

Entering season 3 as OC at Georgia State, and I really like the state of my squad. Sitting at 2-0 with a 38-10 win over New Mexico State and a ridiculous 68-62 OT win over Western Michigan. That Western Michigan game led to new school records in TD passes, Passing yardage, TD catches in a game, Receptions in a game, and a huge boost to the PPG average that my squad shows helping me stay employed at Georgia State. Once this season is over, I may accept a head coaching role, though I'm leaning towards sticking until the end of the initial contract and then seeing from there what opportunities are out there. I'm kind of hoping the Kansas job opens up, I think it could be a fun 1st Head Coaching gig for this specific dynasty.

Year two of my Army option dynasty as OC is off to a rough start. We are 1-2 going in to our week 4 bye. Just lost a heartbreaker to rival Rutgers 42-35. We had to change up what we did in the 4th and we named to get back in after being down 35-14 but our defense couldn't stop their offense and have up a td with a min left and we didn't get a good chance at tying it up.

Week two was a loss to Duke 24-16. We ran well but the defense couldn't keep us in it and some costly turnovers doomed us in. Our only win so far was against lowly Georgia State in week one, our own tune up game. We won 31-10. Our next game after this bye week is vs Maryland. Should be fun since they are ranked in the top 25.

Yeah, I believe EA took this stat out because it hadn't worked in a long time. Also deflections are being counted as tackles so stat tracking is a bit off. Tacklers are not properly compensated for tackles, other players sometimes get credit for tackles in the area.

After calming down I replayed the Syracuse game and managed to win again. Then smashed Ball State to move to 5-0. Fairly weak schedule so far but very promising.

My freak freshman QB (81 overall) leads the nation in pass yards and has already set the Army record for passing TDs in a season.

Congrats man. I like that you are going to an air raid. I was gonna but then i saw the Army option in game and fell in love with it.
