Re: How is your dynasty going

In my Texas dynasty Bryan Harsin got fired by Auburn (obviously) and after my OC Kyle Flood took a head coaching job elsewhere, we hired Harsin to fill the void. Part of me wants to edit him into Brennan Marion to elevate him in our system but we will see.

      How is your dynasty going

Just went through the entire offseason with Texas.

Bijan Robinson declared early for the draft and went 1st round. Roschon Johnson graduated with him and was selected in the 5th round. We are left with Keilan Robinson (88 OVR), Jonathan Brooks (80) and Jaydon Blue (80) to carry the rock for us.

WR Jordan Whittington transferred out to Maryland to become a WR1 to showcase his skills for the draft instead of playing behind Xavier Worthy who is now a 99 OVR. The thought of losing Whittington has me scared until I saw the incoming freshmen’s ratings:
      - Lorenzo Randolph: 6’5”, 236 lbs, 81 OVR with great athletic and receiving skills
      - Demarious Murphy: 5’9”, 205 lbs, 82 OVR with prototypical slot skills
      - Jacquez Wilson: 6’2”, 200 lbs, 80 OVR possession receiver

That doesn’t include sophomore burner Brenan Thompson (80 OVR, 95 speed) who is coming of an All American season as a return guy as well as redshirt sophomore Casey Cain (85) who is just a solid all-around player. Biggest issue will be getting all of these guys some playing time to keep them from transferring.

On the offensive line sophomore guard DJ Campbell goes from backing up last season to being the highest rated lineman we have in the program and should make our line that much more impressive.

At QB, Quinn Ewers improved marginally to 84 OVR while redshirt freshman Maalik Murphy showed great improvement and is an 83 OVR. QB controversy? We will see. Hudson Card transferred to Tennessee so our QB room is thin with one other scholarship QB on the roster.

Our defense is pretty good and we added 3 freshmen linebackers that should either start or immediately be in the rotation for playing time while also adding two freshmen safeties that are behind 1st team preseason All American FS Jerrin Thompson and 2nd team preseason All American SS Koran Crawford. Again, to keep the freshmen in the program I need to find a way to get them on the field.

The Big XII welcomes in #10 BYU, #19 Houston, UCF and Cincinnati this season forcing the league into two divisions and now a conference championship game. For the Longhorns, they open the season on the road against #2 Alabama in the final game of their home-and-home series before Texas and Oklahoma head to the SEC in 2025.

Re: How is your dynasty going

Launching a new dynasty with a custom roster with historic teams I made. I'll probably only do a season since recruits will change these rosters a lot/wont fit a lot of the schemes. My last one with a similar roster I won the natty with 2008 Florida over 2010 Auburn, both undefeated heading into the game. Tebow won the heisman and Newton was a close runner up with Percy Hsrvin 3rd. I play with J-Kit's settings. I am going to use 85 Oklahoma and try a 2 QB system with a healthy Aikman starting

Rankings with this roster are very random every time but I'm starting at #1. Unfortunately my conference isn't ranked well, my schedule is a B after adding 2 top 3 out of conference games to my schedule. I've tried to make sure all teams are using team and era specific playbooks, including myself.

          Week 1: Bye
          Week 2: @ #3 14 OSU
          Week 3: Bye
          Week 4: @ #2 67 USC
          Week 5: @ 89 Houston

Week 2 down. Nice win 35-6. Started slow with 0-0 1Q, but got momentum in the 2nd with a Boz sack and FF on back to back plays. Keith Jackson went over the top for TDs of 28 and 62 yards in 2Q because Von Bell was playing in the box to stop the run. Defense played great most the game, 5-2 as your base can be tough against a spread but held up well since OSU runs options a lot. Only allowed 320 total yards and two field goals. My dual QB system worked well, they didn't let me run much with the QB but I gashed them with my pitch man and dive backs after the long TD passes.

            Key Players:
            T. Aikman - 11/20 296 yards 2 TDs 2 INTs (greedy deep ball as time expired), 6 rushes for 17 yards
            L. Perry - 21 rushes for 155 yards, 3 TDs
            K. Jackson - 9 catches for 219 yards, 2 TDs
            B. Bosworth - 13 tackles (all solo), 4 TFL, 1 sack, 1 FF, 1 PBU and 2 carries for 0 yards. Trying to use him as a short yardage and goaline FB/TE to see if I can get him in the heisman running

            Opposing:
            B. MIiller - 25/32 218 yards 0 TDs 0 INTs, 21 rushes for 7 yards
            E. Elliott - 17 rushes for 72 yards, 10 catches for 27 yards
            C. Smith - 3 catches for 66 yards
            V. Bell - 8 tackles (all solo), 1 TFL

Next game Week 4 at #2 1967 USC

Worst big win I've ever had. Won 48-17, lots of turnover and gave up lots of yards. Just a bad game with lots of lucky breaks my way. Onto undefeated 89 Houston next week. Weatherspoon is leading the nation is rushing, #1 overall offense so should be fun to play against.

Tight game against Houston until the second half. Outscored them 20-8 in 3Q and held off a late charge to win 38-27. Ware carved me up 29/42 384 yards with 4 TDs and 1 INT. Held Houston to 76 yards on the ground. Aikman has 312 yards with 2 TDs and added 50 yards and 1 TD on the ground. 140 yards and 1 TD for Perry and got the Boz his first rushing TD of the year, a 7 yard FB Iso out of the Maryland I. He added 13 tackles, 4 TFLs and a sack on defense. Next up is undefeated Major Harris and 1988 WVU. #5 scoring offense in the country at 44.0 ppg, top 10 in total, rushing and passing offense. #3 rush defense in the country too.

Pulled out a 57-52 shoutout win against 88 WVU. I tossed 6 INTs being an idiot when I was frustrated so had to claw back down 3 scores in the 4th after starting the game up 13-3. Tried to punch in a game ending TD up 55-52 with 1:30 left but got stuffed on 4th and goal from 1. Boz got a sack safety the next play to close out the game. Of course I dropped from 1 to 3 in the polls with 2 of my 3 wins coming against top 3 teams on the road.

Up next is the 4-1 1982 Pony Express.

                    Texas State Bobcats

So far, Coach Gurley's Texas State Bobcats are 6-2 overall and 2-2 in C-USA. Our QB is an interception machine. We lost to an 0-2 FAU team (in the third game of the season). We lost to a 2-5 UAB team in the 8th game of the season. We should not have lost the UAB game. The fumbles and a 96 yard pick six were the undoing.

On the recruiting front, Coach Gurley is focusing a lot on defense. We are first on a lot of 3 star players, but no one has committed yet.

                      Texas State Bobcats

Coach Gurley's first season is over. It was a success. A 10-3 (6-3) season including a big win against a higher ranked Temple team in the Beef O' Brady's bowl. A 42-28 bowl game victory allowed the Bobcats to reach the 10 win plateau. The Bobcats held a 35-17 lead at the half. Temple came out with some halftime adjustments and outscored the Bobcats 11-7 in the second half. Bobcats QB Jamey Ward had one of his best games, and he indeed saved the best for last. During the season, Ward was called an "interception machine". This game, he only threw 1 pick, but the other stats were fantastic. Ward went 11 of 20 for 316 yards, 5 carries, and 3 touchdowns. Bobcats' RB Darrell Fraser didn't do too badly either. A great bowl game showing with 22 carries for 125 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wide receiver Michael Washington had 4 catches for 140 yards and 1 touchdown and wide receiver Kerry Jackson had 1 catch for 73 yards and 1 TD.

During the offseason, Coach Gurley landed one 4 star, seven 3 stars, seven 2 stars, and one 1 star. He brought in the 49th best recruiting class.

Preseason: Texas State is ranked 64th in the preseason poll. They are predicted to finish first in the C-USA West division.

Been awhile since my last update. Since the Michigan State lost we started up another season. Predictably we ran through the country and won another BCS title and conference. I been trying to use the 4 playoff team mod however…it doesn’t work.

Anyway we went into year 29 with 10 seniors all our top players. 2 Being QBs 1 being our senior RB. Started 4-0 however our run game with our senior RB and our offense as a whole was terrible. So i made a change at QB and lifted the red shirt on our running back. Our new QB in 10 games threw 31TD 4INT. Our freshmen RB was a superstar. As the season we weren’t as dominant and had some close games. We beat Texas who is now running an option offense in the conference game…and Michigan in the title game.

We now enter year 30 with 19 titles in 29 seasons.
For the record i am playing on he is man difficulty with a slider set.

In the 2021 Season, with Alaska-Fairbanks.

                          Went 4-8 (4-5 in conference) in 2018.

                          Stayed the same, 4-8 (4-5) in 2019

Made progress in 2020, going 8-6 (6-4) and lost to Indiana (simmed) in a bowl. The highlight was an 18-point comeback versus Hawaii.

                            Coach Buck Gurley
                            Texas State Bobcats

Season 2 is under way. After beating Western Kentucky 38-22, the Bobcats were riding high knowing that a trip to Moscow, Idaho would be pretty easy. Nope, not a chance. The Vandals in the Kibbie Dome are dangerous. "They absolutely owned us," Coach Gurley remarked. "Offense, defense, they had the tools. Idaho came in ready to play, and we didn't.". Coach Gurley was right. A 24-14 final score wasn't even that close. Texas State threw multiple interceptions and fumbled once. But they could not stop the amazing Vandal run game. Next up is UMass in the first conference game of the season.

Geography aligned dynasty (states stay together) - Year 10 results (not revamped)

Pretty happy with the parity. Only things right now that are lopsided worth noting are BYU hasn't won a holy war game yet, but that does make sense, since Utah has dominated the MWC, winning 8 of the 10 titles.

                              National Titles (title game appearances)
                              Georgia 2 (3)
                              Nebraska 2 (3)
                              Appalachian State (1)
                              Michigan (1)
                              Notre Dame (1)
                              Ohio State (1)

                                Coach Buck Gurley
                                Texas State Bobcats

The 2nd season came to an end. What a great season for Coach Gurley's Bobcats. They finished 12-2 (10-0) and C-USA Champions and a Liberty Bowl victory over Navy. A little side note: After Texas State beat UTSA in the last game of the season, the Bobcats were ranked 25th. Then, the Bobcats beat Eastern Michigan in the C-USA championship game pretty handily, and Navy was ranked 25th, and we were out of the top 25. We had a ton of trouble with the Navy offense, but the Bobcats grabbed a 21-20 victory.

In the offseason, Gurley was a recruiting machine. The Bobcats brought in the 30th ranked class including five 4 stars, ten 3 stars, and six 2 stars. The Justin Nugent era is about to begin at Texas State. A 4 star mobile QB with great arm and super accuracy. He will be behind an all senior offensive line.

Another plus for the Bobcats is RB Darrell Fraser returned for his senior season. A major reloading effort was a top five priority at WR as two great receivers graduated. On the defensive side of the ball, Texas State has a total of 10 juniors and seniors.

Texas State is ranked preseason 51st and projected to finish first in the C-USA west division.
