Re: How is your dynasty going

Just lost my last game of the 2018 season with A&M. Alabama dragged me around the field. Finished 7 - 5 . Lost my #1 corner, safety, and running back early in the season. I was pretty much lost without them. We're rebuilding somewhat and I might get fired.

Pretty good end to my 2032 (2026 in game season)

Picked up my Clemson dynasty after a few months off (non-CFBR, but use Utility Tool to run playoff & edit my bowls).

Made it through regular season undefeated & #1 after previous-#1 Purdue was upset in B10CG. SEC champ Alabama was #2, Pac-12 champ Arizona State #3 after upsetting UCLA, and B12 champ Arkansas ended up being #4. The Razorbacks had originally been #5 or 6 due to late season losses to Alabama & Auburn (due to the scheduling quirk of keeping former conference foes as non-conf opponents) behind 9-3 Texas. However, the Razorbacks had won H2H over the Longhorns to win B12 South and defeated Ok State in B12CG to knock the Cowboys out of contention. Made it an easy choice to bump them up in the poll editor.

The game with Arkansas was closer than final score showed. Was only up 24-17 after 3 and the Razorbacks were just a couple yards away from tying it up. 1 of my safeties jumped a route and raced 98 yards for a pick 6. 2 more turnovers led to additional points. Meanwhile, Arizona State (making their 1st CFP in my dynasty) upset Alabama to set up one of more fun games. Had a beat on the Sun Devils, but 2nd half turnovers allowed them to score with minute late & have the game come down to onside kick.

        NCAA on Varsity/8 minute quarters.

Ended up winning the national title with FIU (time to increase difficulty) as a defensive coordinator (fake Deion Sanders).

        @ Duke 38-24
        @ North Texas 37-14
        vs Louisville 14-9
        @ Louisiana-Lafayette 31-6
        @ Arkansas State 45-14
        @ Middle Tennessee State 38-28
        vs Troy 30-3
        @ Western Kentucky 17-12
        vs UTSA 38-0
        vs FCS Southeast 30-0
        vs FAU 41-7
        vs Louisiana Monroe 19-0
        vs Louisiana-Lafayette 31-7 [CUSA Title]
vs #2 USC 31-7 [National Title]

Really wasn't expecting this result after the near losses to Duke and MTSU early on in the season.

I ran 3-4 against 12/22+ personnel and 4-3 against 21. 3-3-5 that would slant opposite of the back in the gun or turn into penny against Y attached under center looks and slant strong.

I've only been able to get three commits in recruiting so far. I focused on Florida for about 10 weeks before branching out. I forgot you can promise playing in-state for kids and probably messed up the early portion of my recruiting. Trying to only bring in players who are 67+ overall but I'm not taking a bunch of big swings.

        Commits:

        TE #4 Al Dixon (6'3", 248, Mulberry, FL) ****
        76 (+3) overall, 77 speed, 78 strength, 70 catching, 74 run block
UConn and Boston College were the other teams in the running.

WR #55 Kevin Jensen (6'3", 193, University West, FL) ****
        71 (+4) overall, 83 speed, 68 catching, 79 route running, 75 release
No other team offered him a scholarship.

DE #26 Keith White (6'2", 250, Kings Point, FL) ***
        73 (+3) overall 70 speed, 76 strength, 78 power moves, 78 block shedding, 75 tackle
No other team offered him a scholarship.

The following players have me ranked top-3 going into the offseason:

        #1, no other offers:
FS Derek Wright 69, Marion, AL
T John Williams 68 (-1), New Albany, MS
        T Nic Brunner 67 (+1) Mullins, SC

        #1, other offers:
QB Scott Cook 72 (+1), Kissimee, FL (Iowa)
RB Joel Herron 69 (-1), Kendale Lakes, FL (Navy)
DE Peter Robinson 67 (-3), Coral Terrace, FL (Navy, UConn)

        #2, no other offers:
WR Chris Smith 69 (-2), Newport, RI
WR Shannon Moss 68, Greenwood, SC

        #3, no other offers:
T Kyler Ruffin 76 (-2), Presque Isle, ME

        #3, other offers:
ATH Lee Woods 77 (+2), Rockledge, FL (Virginia Tech, West Virginia)

In my own dynasty, I made a teambuilder team ages ago and I'm using them. The Alaska Snowdogs. I've given myself pretty harsh rules when it comes to recruiting. Can only recruit players that are equal or below your teams prestige star rating and as I am starting out as a one star team. There are three exceptions to the rule. 1) If a recruit from is from Alaska, I can recruit them, regardless of stars. 2) If a recruit is from a pipeline, I can recruit one star level ahead of my teams current rating (eg. if my teams star rating is 1 and Washington is a pipeline and I want a 2-star recruit from Washington, I can try and recruit him) 3) If a recruit has Alaska rated as their top school at the beginning of the recruiting (aka in pre-season), I can also recruit them.

I like a challenge with games so, this is my way of extending the climb in this one. Biggest issue is back when I set up the team, I messed up by not including any senior players (I know dumb) so I want to edit the team, maybe the amazing CFB team have something or there's some tool I can use from here to sort it out, but I'll do my research and sort it out. Should be fun though.

I think you definitely upgrade to heisman. I don't know how far ahead in the future you are so UCLA could just be really good in your simulation, but UCLA is not winning 35-7 against #7 Washington. Heisman will make the game so much more fun for you.

Started a Super Sim dynasty on NCAA 09 (PS2) w/ NIU. Currently 6-2 (4-1) in Year 1. Thanks to pcsx2 i can slow down the sim and follow it play by play like I do in Madden 23!

Coach Fanning is 3 years in @ Western Michigan. After 3 winning seasons and most recently a MAC Championship, UTEP and Notre Dame called to enlist his services. Fanning decided to stay in Kalamazoo though.

Coming off of a 9-4 season, which included a 12-point win over Akron in a bowl game, Coach Fanning was offered the Auburn job. He chose to stay at Tulsa. He's yet to win the conference so he'll likely try another challenge after doing that.

Proof that I wasn't destined to win

Just finished up year 15 of my Clemson dynasty (would be 2034 season, as my 1st year was done w/ 2019 roster and schedule edit).

Entered CFP as #1 team, only undefeated team in nation. Faced #4 Notre Dame (B10 champ in my dynasty this year) in Peach Bowl SF.

                          During game:
*My All-ACC RB suffered torn quad
*My All-American and award winning DE was knocked out with bicep injury
*My All-American FS was knocked out with concussion.

Drove down for what I thought would be a game-winning TD, milking clock down along the way. Backfires as Notre Dame, after 2 incompletions, torched my SS and CB for a 75 yard TD. Some desperation passes got me on ND side of 50, but my last ditch pass was intercepted at the goal line as time expired.

Though I had avoided the carnage, as CCG week had claimed the then-2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th ranked teams.

Year 8 is in the books. Coach Fanning has his 2nd MAC title and 2nd bowl win. He has offers from Ohio State, Arizona and UCLA to consider along with the option to just remain in Kalamazoo...

Coach Fanning gave his heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the AD, boosters and fans of the Broncos but ultimately decided to leave Kalamazoo in his rearview mirror. His next stop? The old coach will be taking his talents to Tucson as the headman of the University of Arizona!
