I'm about to start yet another franchise to once and for all test all the draft glitch.



I choose to take EA at their word and truth that they fixed the issue at hand and I will be able to put 10+ hours into this game and not deal with the draft glitch.


They are an honest company and I go in with full positive expectations. Will let you know more as I progress

Started a new online franchise, same problems. Constantly getting disconnected only to return and find all my progress has not been saved.

For all the people banking on this update to save their beloved franchise mode, I hate to break it to you but you're only setting yourself up for disappointment and a waste of your time.

No custom draft classes, coach firing set to OFF, doesn't matter, still same issues for me on PS5

This is a horrible sign.

I just started one on Series X, and was able to get through all of pre-season, and play week one of the regular season. This includes cuts, weekly strategy etc etc.

No drops or anything.

USER WRs still aren't attacking the ball on their own. Threw it deep 3 times. 3 times intercepted on 1 on 1 coverage because the WR wouldn't jump for the ball but the DB did. Pressing the WRs defensively is still a no go. Maybe next year they will fix that.

Yes, it didn't use to be this way, and I understand that a lot of people hate that is, but the game is 100 percent designed around User catching. Also, press a fair amount, and reasonable amount of success if I'm not trying to do so against a totally mismatched DB. Is it User vs User games where it doesn't work at all?

Does anyone know if the Face of the Franchise issue was fixed where it would change your position to QB? For example, you’ll be a CB but you’ll be switched to a QB save file with QB ratings and the QB skill tree but still able to play CB? Happened to me everytime I restarted. If this isn’t fixed, I don’t know what they are doing.

Had this same thing happen to me. My CB became a QB with progression and superstar x factor.. on-field, I remained a CB tho.

It was always in the game, but was invisible to the User, they added a visible tackle battle "A" button for the User team.

You are the first person I've seen mention what I also noticed. The tackle battles existed when the USER was on defense, but no visible tackle battle meter existed. How....how did this make it out of QA?

Was able to continue my franchise that was stuck in the Draft. I'm now in week 3 of season two. And when i restart the game: i'm in week 3 of season two.

Hopefully that means this bug is gone.

Unfortunatly i get the game disconnected me after every game because of inactivity. Yeah... 10sec after a game or while im sorting my depth chart... at least my game was saved. I only had to do the player upgrades again.

WR still do not attack the ball :-/ But: Armor & Swords slider sets works: i had zero INTs. But i should have had at least 2 or 3 on those deep 50:50 passes while my WR was looking elsewhere an the DB just dropped ball.

I got two games in last night (Thursday is wife watches bad TV and I play PS5)
I chanced turning the interception slider up to 25. I'd think with it not working it was acting as at 50. Pre-patch my INTs was always close to TDs.
My first play, first pass, intercepted! My fault though.
First game pretty close. That INT cost me momentum and took some work to overcome and get back in the game.



Second game, typical case of getting momentum, vs a poor QB, lots of sacks 3 INTs. Big win.


Hard to judge improvements. Gameplay was pretty good apart from the INT and momentum issues before anyway. I'd like to see if some of the cases of run blocks missing entirely are resolved, and if play action works.


The more important fixes were the back end anyway: fix the crashes and improve AI roster and fatigue management.

Impressions after update:

1. Interception slider definitely works now. I’m slowly increasing it from zero to get to a reasonable point.

2. CPU RB appears to be more aggressive. Especially when it comes to cutbacks to exploit open lanes. I’m going to do some ratings tests because if what has changed is what I’m thinking has changed, the RBs can have unique personalities based on which evasion technique has a high rating, I.e I hope all RBs aren’t tuned to just aggressively cutback, I’m hoping it’s tuned to ratings so if there’s a high truck rating they’ll truck more often.

3. Fatigue appears to have been tuned. I have fatigue slider at 70 and noticed more rotation with CPU RBs than before the update.

4. CPU QB Acc is better. When I say better I mean more errant throws to empty places on the field (my CPU QB slider is set to 40 by the way).

5. Observed some amazing Dline play here and there as the CPU D line crashed down on running plays.

6. DB / WR play seems to be more smooth. More swats, etc.

7. I’m noticing speed threshold having more visual effect as far as pursuit.

This is only two games in. I didn’t really notice too many major issues before the update, so for me to notice these things, they definitely did a good job. Will report back as I go.

Just spent all night starting a new franchise, skipping the first season, doing the off season, going through a draft, making trades, starting the next season..

Only to log back in at round 7 in the draft..

I want to frisbee this crap right out the window on the way to work. Janky EA

I was so pissed I deleted Madden. Gave myself a breather and reloaded it. Started back at round 7 again. Went through preseason again. Making sure to completely exit after each advance.. Each time, the season would start correctly.

Then I get kicked out for inactivity even though the controller is in my hand. I sign back in and I'm on round 2 of the draft...

I just deleted the season and Madden again. What a waste. Why even play franchise and work on scouting/drafting/offseason if you have no clue if it's even going to save or let you continue.


Guess I'll wait until mid-November

From what I gathered:

-Turn off coach firing
-Don't use custom classes
-play online

Don't forget you must control all 32 teams i.e. have 32 characters created. Otherwise there will still be coach firings regardless of the ON/OFF selection. And too many coach firings/retirements triggers a crash eventually.

You can of course put league Settings on so that 31 teams manage themselves in Auto and you just look after one team properly.

I have not had any of the save or draft glitches. Mass int's was my main issue and EA def fixed that. I'm also commissioner of a CFM with 27 current members. We have reached max capacity of 32 with nobody getting kicked. Only reason we are not full is bc some ppl cant take a loss. Just adv to week 10 last night. Use custom draft classes by escobar. Also playing on PS5. Thankful i dont have a lot of the issues im hearing about on here. Hope they figure out a way to fix this.
