Similarly, Jason Kelce didn't have any Superstar ability in the slot where on the base roster he now has Linchpin.

Additionally there are now new tiles in the ability edit UI in the franchise player card to assign the new abilities.
My guess is they will be corrected tomorrow for franchise via the next roster update.

      I'm kinda there with ya.

On defaults, I do think there needs to be a bit more risk-reward for things like using undisciplined players or in-game using mechanics like fake hikes, aggressive blocking coach adjustments and so on. At the current baseline levels, there really is no significant risk.

To arbitrarily hike-up the levels simply to "match real life" for no reason other than "to match real life" is not something I am particularly interested in.

Obviously, the sliders need to work properly for those that desire a different experience.

Excited to see the results of people testing progressive fatigue. Maybe after 3 years the feature will actually work correctly for us all.

We're a month into the season, but the game may finally be in a state for me to finally begin a franchise. Now, if only EA still kept up with their Live Start feature and I could start a franchise in week 5. I guess you take what you can get.

It shouldn't even be a debate or questionable at all. Regardless if the game is tuned by default to have a realistic amount of penalties or not, the sliders should work so that those who want a realistic number of penalties can tune them to achieve that and those who don't want penalties can also do the same.

I could not care less if someone wants no penalties, a realistic amount, more than real life, or anywhere in between. Play the game how you want. Nobody should care. We should only care and demand that the settings in the game work properly. Unfortunately, far too many settings in this game do not work as one would expect.

Exactly what I said...."Obviously, the sliders need to work properly for those that desire a different experience."

MY point is that irrespective of what people WANT, the game, on defaults, should be balanced (with the appropriate penalties) to ensure that all gameplay elements carry an equal amount of risk/reward. At least prior to today's patch, they did not. That is a fundamental game-balancing flaw vs one's opinion on what the game "should be".

It would be like if "run commit" did not leave you susceptible to the deep bomb....see what I mean?

I do wish Run Commit in Madden would more intelligently only affect defenders in the run fit and wasn't just a kamikaze blitz which pulls literally every defender out of coverage, but that's neither here nor there lol.

for the love of god, did they fix the west coast game times coded as east coast. Meaning all west coast games start late afternoon and end at dark? It's been this way for 3 years and reported on it each year.

I would add unrealistic simulation stats, which like penalties, is more of a decision to leave a broken system in place than a bug per se. For years now QB passing yards and running yards, LT sack totals, and Kicker stats are WAY off compared to real life. For penalties Defensive Holding has been completely turned off to appease to the competitive crowd, and zero penalties are called at realistic percentages.

No offense since you contribute on OS a lot for a long time, but seeing this view is so frustrating for me… EA if you’re reading this, please do NOT listen to this man.

If EA actually put in realistic penalties you could just turn off or tune down penalty sliders and get what you want. But the way things are now those of us that DO want realistic football can’t turn real penalties on at all!

If realistic penalties are ever finally put in the game both of us could be happy. Please EA, I implore you, put real penalties in the game. The competitive crowd can turn them off and continue to be happy. The sim crowd has been ignored on those for over a decade now.

Football games have penalties. There should be penalties.

                      They were.....Madden 16.

And the sliders worked amazingly well.

That’s all I am asking for.....fix the sliders so we can tune it the way we want it and add back defensive holding.

So, do we have to start a new franchise for the draft bug to be fixed? I saw an earlier post in this tread that this update fixed the issue with in a current franchise.

Man, I knew it. I won't get to update or play anything for a day or so. Please, can anyone confirm what did or didn't happen per the QB accuracy that everyone has been debating? I wanted no nerfing, myself.

Do you mean "IR doesn't work in Madden at all", or do you mean "The IR rules in Madden do not match the present-day real life IR rules"?

Because as far as I know, only the latter of those is true.

Yuuup. There’s too many mechanics in this game that are way too extreme instead of being made with a football mind lol
