Re: Madden NFL 24 Patch Fixes Draft Class Issues, Slow UI, Franchise Mode & Much More
“Play ball” was intentionally removed and EA says it was not going to have any effect on their new “catch/tackle” system on 24
So it was placebo. And they simply removed it.

im more of a career mode guy so yeah lol and after my rookie deal you can choose to sign with any team i got offered a deal from the team that drafted me (broncos) but declined cause they shortchanged me i think i was about a 90 ovr by then and we had just lost the super bowl... ended up signing with seattle. Currently in the final year of that contract but i will probably stay since we are on the verge are repeating.Comment

Starting at roughly 6:13, I'm not seeing any sort of placebo, this dude breaks down each setting quite nicely....

Look I am going off what the people who made the game said. From the horses mouth.
So I guess they are lying.

Re: Madden NFL 24 Patch Fixes Draft Class Issues, Slow UI, Franchise Mode & Much More
Quick question re: post-patch visual settings: I’m now seeing the CPU’s max passing circles and meters and stuff, and I want to play with a clean screen. I don’t think I changed any of my visual display settings—is there a way to get rid of this?Comment

I am happy I didn't buy this game. I still have 8 hours of EA play. Some how I got to play it for free all year last year and likely only played 5 games. the NFL needs to end their agreement with EA. It's awful!Comment

Their premise is what’s going on in H2H play, not ao much against the CPU & no the CPU/outcomes/animations don’t trigger the same, esp as the different Play Styles have different under-the-hood settings.
A lot of AI logic “is not” applied in Practice mode (inside or outside Franchise) so a lot of these type testing and their data turns out to be inaccurate when you enter into an actual game.
Coach Adjustments and Gameplan both are poorly implemented features as they both cause AI logic/Animations to go bonkers by forcing every player to adhere to an chosen animation &/or outcome, removing rating matchup differentiation and their dynamic animation/outcome triggering.
The individual player Play Ball Trait only applies a small % towards type triggering and not an 100% adherence application.
***Jump Rating (for DB’s)
= impacts DB logic for triggering an In-Air attempt interaction or Play Receiver.
- 65 rating = 50% mix of both
- 0 rating = 100% Play Receiver
As the rating increases above 65, the % of triggering an In-Air attempt Interaction increases (what min rating level where the 100% triggering occurs
is unknown & I didn’t test)
Same for AI Pass Catchers dealing with Aggressive vs RAC attempt
- 65 rating = 50% mix of both
- 0 rating = 100% RAC attempt
Above 65 carries same notation above relating to Aggressive Catch attempts by AI
Ratings are just individual Sliders which all of these type video testing fail to note that context is added towards the asserted suggesting outcomes.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 24 Patch Fixes Draft Class Issues, Slow UI, Franchise Mode & Much More
I finally got my hands on the update a little last night. I specifically wanted to look into the player editing of appearance and such. Here's what I've got so far:
The gut and chest sliders seem to work solid, but I will say that if they aren't matched - or one crashed, one maxed (seriously didn't intend this to be the case, haha) - it looks a little wonky. Not horrible. Just a noticeable offness..? [edit] I meant to add that this is mostly noticeable when a player is wearing the flak jacket / rib protection gear.
Arms and definition sliders are solid.
The rear sizing slider is absolutely backwards. Maxing it makes it smaller. Unless it's to mean a more muscular hips and rear when maxed out, and the crashed slider is just a fat hips and rear look, then okay.
The thighs slider is solid.
The calves slider is the real anomaly. On what you would expect to be a "legacy coded player" in the game, I don't see the calves slider doing anything at all. For example: I tried to make Mahomes rail thin calves thicker. Nothing doing. No change. But when I go and mess with Sam Howell, I can give that fool cankles or beanstalk shins. I haven't tried this per any OL or DL, but I'm going to assume it may be the case, as well. Absolutely not a gamebreaker for me. I'm going to start a franchise, but I'm going to keep an eye on this, especially per the draft classes going forward.
I'll dig in deeper over the weekend.Last edited by Dagan; 10-06-2023, 12:19 PM.(...brought to you by Carl's Jr.)Comment

Not at all. I played 2 hours and put it down. This is not a "simulation" football game. Not remotely close.Comment
