I would never suggest that Brady was declining simply because he was out for the entirety of last season.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Ratings: Top 10 by Position (ESPN Videogames)
That's BS Aaron Rodgers is clearely better then Jay ****ler, yet ****ler is on the list and A-Rod isn't. Do you people even watch football? And Greg Jennings is better then half those WR's, like Steve Smith, TO, Boldin, and White. Jennings should be at least a 95 overall. And where is Nick Collins on that list? He had 80 tackles, 7 INT's, and 3 TD. and that is not good for at least a 94? I am sick of the big market team bias when it comes to Madden. Every year the Packers are low balled and I'm sick and tired of it.
And there is no way Rodgers is "clearly" better then AR. AR has less then 600 career attempts. It is still early in both of their careers but AR only have one season under his belt. I think they both around the same.
I think we should just start making everyone's favorite players over 90 so everyone can stop crying. Obviously, I am not serious.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Ratings: Top 10 by Position (ESPN Videogames)
Again, I'm not saying that Brady can't play. Or even that he sucks. I'm saying that he's only good because the NFL passing rules are rigged.
Having said that, explain to me how he is any better than Drew Brees. A guy who is amazingly LESS TALENTED than Tom, AND short to boot! But he goes out and throws Marino numbers on a pretty weak team.
I think that given the team and system there are at least 10 other starters, and 20 other backups in the NFL that could do what Brady did if they had the opportunity. Playing QB in the NFL is all about accuracy and timing. All the rest is just media hype.
There are probably several hundred ex-high school QBs who are bagging groceries and driving forklifts that could do what Brady did if you gave them the same team and circumstances to work with.
Being on forums I had come to realize that people are just haters of greatness. Tom Brady wasn't even projected to be a great QB. The guy put in th work and dedication to be a good QB,and he is one. This guy put up 3,000+ yards throwing to Reche Caldwell and Jabar Gafney. What did you think would happen when he got a monster to throw to?I'd expect Manning's numbers to be astronomical if he was throwing to Moss.
The proof is in the pudding. The guy was putting up numbers with average WRs,winning SuperBowls with game winning drives with average WRs. I can't stand the Pats, but I give them and Tom Brady especially RESPECT for being one of the elite.
You guys with these wild dumb comments should go to a corner. You really have no idea what you're talking about.People need to learn to respect the great talent you see instead of bombing them with dumb insults. It's not even criticsm,it's just dumb mindless opinions of a *****.
I guess me being an athlete myself,I can respect the talent and greatness of elite athletes. They are where they are through their hard work, study skills, and dedication to what they do. You can say system all you want, but you still have to make the reads, you still have to make the throws. And all those grocery baggers are bagging because they couldn't do it.Last edited by droopizzle34; 05-27-2009, 07:46 PM.Ca$hville 4 Life...

Re: Madden NFL 10 Ratings: Top 10 by Position (ESPN Videogames)
Saying Brady is great in his wins is completely understandable, and it's not his fault that he only needed FGs to win the Super Bowls. But defending him in his losses is a bit much. He threw a redzone pick against Denver that Champ Bailey returned 100 yards back to the Pats 1 yard line in the Divisional Round in 2006 which pretty much sealed the game for Denver, he threw a game losing INT to the Colts (and don't even try to say the Colts were vastly superior... they had a HORRIBLE defense that season, although they tightened up in the playoffs) and the Super Bowl he actually did have a go ahead TD to Moss, but left too much time on the clock. But Brady is also very lucky. I remember a game against the Chargers in the playoffs where Brady threw a pick and the defender fumbled it and the Pats recovered and then they went down the field to get the score and win the game. And as far as luck, the tuck rule is obviously the first thing you think of. And this is completely leaving out Spygate...Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Ratings: Top 10 by Position (ESPN Videogames)
dude, are you REALLY mad about that loss by the vikings to the eagles? seriously, EVERY post you make is about taking westbrook down. westbrook hasnt had the attempts most backs have, hence he has less yds. for the 02 and 03 seasons he shared the load, and was at one point part of a three committee backfield. in all his years of starting the year as the number one back he has a career rushing avg of 4.6, he in the injury plagued year he had scored 14 tds, 9 on the ground, you dont get those going to the outside every play. and damn reggie bush, he cant hold westbrooks JOCK. im tired of this myth that brian cant run up the middle, ITS WHERE NEARLY EVERY RUN GOES. the eagles, when they decide to run, are a straight ahead team, we have our stretch plays but as far as running we take it up the middle. last year, he did that well battling injuries, NO FB, washed up tackles, with his best o-lineman out, and with no blocking TE. please, give up on making westbrook average, hes an outstanding back.Last edited by Candyman5; 05-27-2009, 08:38 PM.PS4 Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/candyman5os

Re: Madden NFL 10 Ratings: Top 10 by Position (ESPN Videogames)
Brady obviously is the golden boy of the NFL. That's why he gets a second NFL rule (after the Tom Brady tuck rule) after he blows out his knee. Why didn't they make that rule for Carson Palmer? And I know the Steelers have rules named after them too (the Hines Ward rule for blocking and the Mel Blount rule that completely altered passing), but those rules hurt the Steelers.
Also, I don't have to deal with anything. My Steelers have won 2 Super Bowls since the Pats have last won one.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Ratings: Top 10 by Position (ESPN Videogames)
I was saying the Patriots haven't won a Super Bowl since the 04-05 season, and that the Steelers have won 2 since then, meaning my team has been more successful in the past 5 years than the Pats or any other team for that matter.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 10 Ratings: Top 10 by Position (ESPN Videogames)
I hate on the guy but there is no doubt he will go down as one of the greatest, Jim Kelly type guy. Maybe Aikman with the rings but for some reason he remind be of Kelly.
I personally think, at this stage of his career and coming off an injury, he should take a hit on his ratings and someone like Brees should be slightly better.
That isn't to say that next year or with an update he wouldn't be right back up there.
Unless I am wrong that was by far the worst injury he has had in his career and sometimes that effect players in a big way.
I think Big Ben, McNabb, and Culpepper were different QB before their injuries.
I can't believe this debate is still going though. His ORV rating is close and of that there is no doubt. Maybe his ThP and accuracies need some tweaking but it is in the ball park.Comment
