Matt to say that Madden 09 was heading in the right direction is very disturbing. You are entitled to your own opinion and I respect that , but Madden 09 was a DISASTER. I also didn't need any videos from RyanMoody or Apex to acknowledge that.

It took nothing more than a few games to see how wrong the game was, and to notice that Madden finally went away from being sim completely in any way shape or form. The A.I was horrendous. Animations where painful to watch. The game had zero life for atmosphere, and the same with presentation. Matt Madden 09 is a embarrassment.

I have to kind agree with Matt on this one. As bad as Madden 09 was, it was still better than Madden 06-08. You can't deny that. It did improve, but that doesn't mean it's a great game. I had my moments with it, but ultimately it ended up like those other 3. On the shelf...actually at gamestop now.

Wow, I'm excited for 10, but 09 was boring to me. I didn't think it was much better than 08.

Robo QB was still going strong and presentation was null.

Compare Madden 09 to all of the other next-gen/current-gen games and it is definitely the best one. You can put up a poll on this, but Madden 09 was a step in the right direction despite it's many flaws. I'm sure about 80% of the people here would agree with me. Madden 09 kinda set the foundation for Madden 10.

Agreed, but now they need to right a wrong.

Can't change the past.

That's the point everyone is making here. EA has never changed anything in the past. Unfortunately it seems to get worst. Now if Madden 10 falls in A.I and logic we can't keep saying "Can't change the past". When Madden 11 in development. It's going on 5 yrs now.
The bad development of Madden really has to stop.

I feel Madden 10 will be much better than 09, but it will still fall short on reaching the true sim experience. I don't blame the EA team on this. I truly blame the Engines they use to develop Madden on. I feel those engines are holding back Ian and his team from succeeding.

The reason I say this is based on the fact when they worked on last gen Madden it keep getting better and better, so this tells me that on last gen they were heading in the right direction, and when they got to next gen with the new engines. It all changed for them. Its not like they forgot what to do, or lacked experience. Its more that the tools they now have don't work the same and not as well. Players physics, momentum, and animations are still ugly for Madden 10.

They really need to get rid of those engines. Don't admit it 1 or 2 yrs from now how bad these engines where. Do something about it now. Let it go, and bring back last gen till you find the right engines to utilize for a true next gen Madden.

LOL. Naw man it's just usually when i read a thread someone has already more or less said what i'm going to say so i don't bother. These forums have also been a great help over the years with rosters, pre-release videos, etc so i guess i'm classified as a lurker.

Notice how #92 was able to quickly break off the block and started pursuing Johnson. Look at how he goes after him. Its like Johnson has a magnet and 92 is attracted to it

Instead of trying to cut him off, he runs directly towards him and continue to follow his moves after failing to reach him.

Now I bought Madden 09 and I had the most fun with it I could. But the basics of football not being abided by frustrated me thoroughly. I'm becoming more pessimistic about Madden's core physics and AI engines. I'm starting to feel like it's impossible for Tiburon's engines to mimick the natural laws of physics and body movement and football realistically. Furthermore, because of all the money EA makes, I think it's impossible for them to care, unless (as someone stated before) they stop profitting from their abominable game.

I would boycott the game, because I feel it should be, but my problem is that I have an annual void for an NFL game. I think a lot of Madden players do and that's one of the reasons EA profits so much.

These EA fat cats don't care if you don't like the game, they don't care if you make a video bashing the core of their gameplay. If you even bought the game and realized you hated it and made a video to manifest it, they're still happy because you impacted their wallets in a nice way. When they see an Apex or an RMoody video they probably say thank you. Disgusting. I'm starting realize why David Ortiz got the hell out.

I think the only way things get any better at EA is an old-fashioned mutiny. Customers and developmental employees.

After watching that video. I'm really very appreciative that EA has developed a PS2 version.

I remember those comments. Madden 09 won in the poll. Madden 06-Madden 08 was terrible!!!! There is no way that Madden 08 is better than Madden 09. Like I said - Madden 09 was definitely not a great game and had many flaws, but it is the foundation for Madden 10 and was an omen to a brighter future for the franchise. Before Madden 09 came out, I was very disappointed in the direction that Madden was headed. People probably said none of the above because there haven't been a next-gen or current-gen game released that can compete with last-gen Maddens especially in the game play department.

What also concerns me , and at the same time gives me hope, is the fact that some from CD have informed Ian on some issues that involved the A.I. They where concerned with the way the defense would take angles and react to a play. They felt the awareness was not correct.

I have concerns cause it was there and don't know if they can nail it, but have hope because it was brought to their attention, and those that informed them can help them nail it.

We will know shortly how this will unfold.
