I remember those comments. Madden 09 won in the poll. Madden 06-Madden 08 was terrible!!!! There is no way that Madden 08 is better than Madden 09. Like I said - Madden 09 was definitely not a great game and had many flaws, but it is the foundation for Madden 10 and was an omen to a brighter future for the franchise. Before Madden 09 came out, I was very disappointed in the direction that Madden was headed. People probably said none of the above because there haven't been a next-gen or current-gen game released that can compete with last-gen Maddens especially in the game play department.

I agree completely about M09. Hell, I made a thread about it last year. I fail to see how some people fail to see the improvement.

Yeah, Madden 09 was a huge improvement over the other next-gen/current-gen games. I'm surprised that many people didn't know that. We need more people like you.

I buy EA products if they are good. Example : NHL 09.

In many ways, the NHL game has opened my eyes of how good of a franchise game EA is capable of developing. EA Canada anyway.


The NHL dynasty mode is simply filled with activity, of player movement and injuries. Players being sent up/down, trades etc. I've even been contacted by another team interested in a trade. Quite a contrast from the lifeless franchise experience of current gen Madden. I also find the gameplay to be rewarding...vs frustrating. I'm hoping this years Madden can capture some of the solid gameplay and franchise experience found in EA's hockey game.

^^^ Madden 10 and their earlier installments are not mathematics, thus N/A.

I felt Madden 09 was an improvement and had fun for about a month. Would've played longer, but the gameplay got frustrating and the franchise wasn't deep enough. Hit Stick 2.0 with Patrick Willis was exhilirating!

I just don't see how Madden will be back this year. You can tell which battles Ian chooses to wade into. He will fight against BBreaker because it is far behind Madden in every facet since it has not even been released. But he really will not be able to address the 2k games much anymore because he could not beat those animations like he wanted to. This is not a flame, but just fact from the many M10 vids I have seen.

The BEST thing everyone can do is rent Madden 09 and rent APF. Everyone needs to play both games and draw their own conclusions. APF will not have the NFL players..so get past that and just play the game. Run isos, draws..scramble out the pocket and try to make passes on the run..compare BOTH games like many of us have done. Then ask yourself if you want to continue to support a franchise that has let us down on next gen EVERY YEAR and will continue to do so as long as sales are up.

The Moody video has exposed the many flaws in the fundamental core of Madden. there is no argument to it.

EA has been wrong many many times. I remember when one of their devs stated that "online was not a huge focus" back around 2003 or so. I knew the company had no real vision for Madden then and have been trying to play catchup ever since.

Why does anyone still care about Madden 09 when Madden 10 clearly is gonna destroy it? All these video's mean absolutely nothing anymore because 09 is last years game. If Madden 10 comes out and you can make these same video's then you will have a point but until then, this topic is worthless.

Also for moody and whoever else doesnt know that the replays in Ncaa and Madden 09 were compressed and that is why you see things like balls warping though hands and ect...... Theres a thread somewhere stating this but im not gonna try and find it so dont believe it if you dont want to but it is the truth. Also Madden 10's replays wont be compressed this year so crazy things like that should not happen.

Imo this is like beating a dead horse to death. We know 09 had problems. Apex showed us most of them. This is just a copycat in the making. Heck if I was apex I would make a video about these video's plagiarism.

All this negetivity is insane when Madden 10 has not even been played yet .

Some are not fully getting the point yet. "10" is "09" is "08" is "07".... The games CORE, the code its all built upon, is the problem. Each given year they tweak and tune, add a feature or two, slap the next digits on the box and wallaa...

Madden 10 will feel a bit different, its new features will give it some differences, but overall its the SAME GAME because its the same old, dated CODE. Until they fix the core code/game/engines/engine, all the pro-tak's, procedural awareness, tweaks and tuning won't fix the legacy problems.

Exactly! It's not as if they scrapped everything and built from the ground up for Madden '06! It's the same engine since legacy gen people! The game of football has changed so much over the past 10 or so years and Madden doesn't capture that!
