Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I said this earlier, not one sports game in my library is has sliders right of the box that are playable and usable.
Everyone has their own cup of tea of what is realistic and what isn't. What you think is realistic out of the box, someone else may feel differently. That is why sliders are there.
Even the great 2k11 is majorly tuned by me before I start my association.Comment

I personally think the demo is amazing and I'm on ps3. I haven't played it much but from what I've seen, I'm very impressed. The problem is usually the series getting stale and being the same from year to year, but this year they actually seemed to change it a lot and I'm glad. Let's all remember this a stripped down, old version with no commentary, so the retail copy will be even betterComment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
NFL2k5 and APF considered by many to be the gold standard of football games, required significant slider tweaking to play balanced. Some swear that 2k5 required a pretty significant re-rating of certain attributes amongst the players.
The Show, NBA 2k11 all require slider adjustments to play to everyone's tastes.
The sliders are there to use, I don't see the issue here.Comment

Anyway, the demo to me is much better than retail NCAA and it's an early build. I'm sure the retail version will be better and I will begin the process over of adjusting sliders the way I play once I have the retail version.Comment

I disagree with NBA2K11. That took minor slider adjustments out of the box. Someone else mentioned an NHL game.Comment

There are a bunch of issues when a game starts off so unbalanced. A slider adjustment here to make one part of the game more realistic can cause more of an unbalance in another part of the game. You waste a lot of time chasing your tail and never get something that's satisfactory.

I think you're making something out of nothing here. Most issues can be addressed by sliders, so I still don't see a problem.Comment

I'm afraid this one you need to feel, "to each their own."Comment

Watch to learn about the NEW pump fake mechanics!
This is just my opinion, nothing factual (with the exception of a few things). I'd really appreciate feedback (my 1st video). I know it ran kinda long. . . a lot to discuss. Hope this is informative, just discussing some issues/much discussed topics with the game. I'm not trying to say I'm for or against this game, and I'm certainly not trying to sway people one way or another. That being said I hope you all enjoy!Last edited by R0M0mentum09; 08-10-2011, 06:03 PM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I did something that caught my eye and really impressed me. It was a 3rd and about 9 and obviously I called for a pass play and I expected te CPU to be in a pass prevent/zone set which was true. This isn't what caught my eye but what happened when the play occured. The play seemed to break down with the zone coverage covering all it's areas and while my o-line held their blocks for as long as possible it finally broke and I found myself scrambling with Rodgers looking to find an open receiver when I saw Jennings break from his route wave his hands at me... and I fired a bullet on the run while te DE was chasing me... Hold up. On the run passing!?!? I haven't seen that in madden maybe ever... Usually when our on the run like that.. You get the animation of the QB stopping in mid run to set up and throw... This to me is huge!!!! Still haven't rely played a full qtr let alone game but that play stood out in the few minutes I could play.Comment

I'll be looking for slider suggestions after the retail comes out.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
You have to use custom sliders if you don't want the CPU to cheat. You can find videos of it online. They make your running back slow down, QBs throw way off on an easy throw, ect.
I use custom sliders and there is a point and tweaking you have to do so the CPU doesn't turn into cheat mode.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
I'm not talking about 2k5. I'm talking about Madden.
History with Madden tells me you are wrong. It's been difficult to get an accurate number of plays per game and get accurate stats. That's always been a struggle. I would like to see realistic stats for a realistic number of plays and have it realistically match what an NFL game would have. It's a struggle trying to get sliders to to that. So I guess we agree to disagree.
I'll be looking for slider suggestions after the retail comes out.
2k5 was an example. You're complaining about lack of game balance and having to use sliders. 2k5 is a perfect example of a great game with the same issues.
History of Madden means what?
It really appears you're reaching here to find an issue even if one does not exist.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 12 Demo Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)
The problem here is that so many of us play Madden differently. What one calls "cheese," another calls fair play. What one calls "unrealistic," another says "it's in the game!" Some are great on the sticks, others want to allow the CPU to catch the ball.
Someone might buy Madden, play it on Pro with default sliders, and feels great about the outcome. Someone else needs to ramp it to All Madden, slow, speed diff. to zero, and sliders all over before they're happy. It's VERY subjective, and asking EA to "get it right, out of the box" is also subjective. Who does EA cater to? Which style of play?
In contrast, EA gives us a bevy of sliders for us to tailor the game to our style.Comment

The only real annoyances to me are the super jumping LBs that still haven't been taken care of, and the fact that d-lineman can wrestle you down so easily while being heavily blocked...Last edited by The Amaizen Blue; 08-10-2011, 06:14 PM.Comment
