The Eagles fans are some of the worst in the NFL. They've treated Donovan like trash despite being one of the more classy players in the league. I wouldn't expect a lot of them to welcome Vick with open arms.

Another one pulled from the backside of Mr. Knuckles

I poke at Eagles fans myself, but one thing I will always agree with them on is if you don't win when the advantage is in your favor OR you keep reaching a chance to go to the big game, yet keep finding new ways to lose...you deserve the criticism you receive. Classy or no.

1-4 in NFC Championship games = Derserved criticism

And we all know that quarterbacks win and lose games all by themselves. The other guys don't even matter. They're just there to watch!

Lol, yup. That's the thing about playing quarterback. You're pretty much always either going to get too much credit or too much of the blame.

I guess it was a coincidence Philly went from having a top 5 draft pick and being the punching bag of the NFC East, to 5 NFC title games, and perpetual contention for the championship since McNabb arrived.

Favored, at home, against TB and Carolina and McNabb absolutely crapped the bed. Not the Eagles, not the defense....McNabb. Never mind the fact that we won the division all those years on the back of a dominant defense and not on the back of #5. And despite not being favored in either game, we watched him have golden opportunities to lead drives to beat the Rams and Patriots at the end of those games and he failed miserably both times. Compare his performances at the end of those games to real QBs who know how to win big games like Kurt Warner, Big Ben, etc. McNabb will never lead a drive like that and all Eagles fans know this to be a fact.

Nobody's disputing that McNabb is a great player who has brought much success to the Eagles. But it's pretty indisputable that he has proven, time and again, an inability to close in big games. Like P2K said, his record in NFC Championship and Super Bowl games merits a lot of criticism.

Their late game defense, and lack of commitment to the run killed them as much as anything imo.

Still, before McNabb, even dating back to the Jaworksi/Cunningham days, the Eagles never had this type of longterm success, and went through a long down time. I think sometimes Eagles fans forget where they were before McNabb showed up.

Can't say I disagree with this. I agree with P2K though, McNabb does get bashed and take alot of criticism from people, but let's not pretend like he doesn't deserve any of it or that it's unwarrented criticism when that's far from true.

1-4 in NFC Title Games = deserved criticism. Now if it was 4-1, then it'd a different story.

Agreed 100%, Win or Lose still a great accomplishment.

Back to Vick Topic...Not by any means a fan of him and honestly sick of hearing all the media continuously examining his return. I will give him credit I do think he was genuine with the apology and it was nice to hear him finally talk without his "team" writing a script for him.

As long as he follows through with educating children about the seriousness surrounding Dog Fighting then I wish him luck. But I have a bad feeling this enthusiasm to help out will wear out quickly.

I don't know man. Did you hear his heartfelt message to the youth on 60 Minutes tonight? He said, "Love your animals..."

He is already off to a fast start of dropping wisdom for our youngsters. Even though, most people already do love their animals, because that is the reason why they have them in their homes.

Seriously though, I really hope he proves a lot of people wrong, and and can come back strongly. If I was a Philly fan I would embrace him, and as a NFL fan I do embrace him also. I just hope other fans don't go overboard when the Eagles come to town. Don't need to see any dogfighting signs at the game.

Seems like a PR move to me, more than heartfelt contrition. He's doing what he needs to do, but I in no way shape or form believe he's sorry.. I believe he's sorry he got caught, and if he didn't get caught he'd still be involved.

                          But we'll see.

I agree and I am happy that JB presented the question "Why did you lie at the beginning of this?" Because I was so sick of people saying that Vick has been honest throughout the situation. IMO Vick would not have pled guilty if it wasnt for his two buddies turning on him.

But yea I agree this seems like he is doing this for PR reasons instead of to help the youth but like I said I wish him the best and I hope he is being sincere.

This is probably very true, but sometimes it takes a wake up call for people to do some soul searching and really reflect on what it is they are doing. Only Michael Vick knows if he's truly sorry are not though.

^Exactly. Even if he's not really sorry and he's just acting like he is (I mean with the children and stuff) a good thing with bad intentions (just to get outta trouble) is still a good thing, even if you have to look at it through a metaphorical lens. Like, it's not the same, but it's better than nothing.
