putting Emmitt Smith as one of the greatest = bias?

Give an example. If my bias is so delusional it should be easy to refute

Which category would you like the example in? I'm having a hard time choosing with all these options.

Emmitt was a better reciever than Payton?

Better than Jim Brown or Payton at grinding out tough yards?

                    ok.

It's really not more than usual.

                      found this Payton clip.

Can't embed it. But nice Tribute clip for Walter.

I should have put Payton in the catching category, thought I did. Emmitt certainly belongs as one of the best in that category though considering he is 4th all time in receptions in Dallas Cowboys franchise history

and I didnt number them. The players arent necessarily listed in order

So his longevity has nothing to do with the number of receptions. LOL.

pretty sure longevity has to do with any player being ranked highly in all time franchise categories

but people who actually followed the Dallas Cowboys in the 90s are aware that Smith was one of the best catchers of the football from the running back position...from 91-95, Emmitt Smith averaged 55 receptions a season. Barry Sanders, for example, never had 50 receptions in a season

Considering Dallas lack of big passing numbers in the past, being 4th on that list, doesn't mean a whole lot. That's why Tony Romo is already shattering so many Dallas passing records. Even Aikman's numbers as many SB's as they won, really put up pedestrian passing numbers.

Not to mention averaged less than 7 yards a reception.

There are plenty of backs who were better receivers than Emmitt. Guys like Ronnie Harmon, or Darrin Nelson made plays in the passing game, Emmitt simply was not capable of. What about Tony Galbreath, or Tony Nathan? Keith Byars, Herschel Walker. All were more capable receivers than Emmitt. Not better runners but better in the pass game.

Barry Sanders also played in an offense that had multiple WR's getting 80,90, 100 catch seasons. Can only spread the passing game so far.

Not that Barry was a particularly good receiver.
