Re: Official CBA Thread
In a post CBA world is there any reason to play running back?
If you eliminate big money rookie deals, rookie running backs will be run into the ground and discarded every 3 years."Good music transcends all physical limits, it's more then something you hear, it's something that you feel, when the author, experience, and passion is real" - Murs (And this is for)Comment

Re: Official CBA Thread
Yup. Up here noone cares about college ball. And I think a good chunk of people who watch pro couldn't care less for college. They wouldn't have a choice and college ball will see significant attention placed on itComment

Re: Official CBA Thread
I foresee a lockout, but everything gets fixed in time for the season to start on time. The NFL can't afford to lose a season, not the owners nor the players, it's damaging to the sport and their brand.
An extended lockout opens the door for the UFL, CFL and any other potential football league to rapidly grow in popularity and if they wanted size. There are plenty of rich business owners who are crazy enough to throw boatloads of cash down to start franchises and pay NFL talent.Last edited by mvb34; 01-19-2011, 12:05 PM.Comment

Re: Official CBA Thread
I have to agree 100%. What could happen though is some fringe NFL guys that need money may go play UFL ball. I mean obviously guys who have been making millions should be okay, but a guy like Arian Foster (for example) who is making around $370,000 ($21,000 per game check) this year may need some income should there be a lengthy lock-out.Moderator

Every player I've seen has said that they've been saving money for awhile, so i'm sure most of the NFL players will be able to surviveSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Goodell and Smith had a meeting recently to advance the negotiations but no actual bargaining was done.
That kinda seems the opposite of constructive but whatever.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Official CBA Thread
I just won't be surprised that if there is an extended lock-out (which I don't see happening.) some of the guys filling roster spots 48-53 on NFL rosters make their way to the UFL.Moderator

Re: Official CBA Thread
Well some of the bigger name low contracts like Arian Foster will get money handed to them by their agents, etc. This really sucks for some of the rookies drafted in the 3rd round on, making little money comparatively and had no chance to save any money before the seasonSaints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment
