Off the top of my head the Chiefs, Cards, Vikings an Jags are where Vick could easily start.

Pretty much there are 32 teams in the NFL only 25 or so have starting quarterbacks. Several are QBed by career back-ups. Mike Vick will be okay.

Bills, Browns (if they give up on Weeden that quickly?), Cardinals, Chiefs (should draft a young qb but will they start him?), Jets, Jaguars, Raiders, Rams (will they give up on Sam?), Titans (Locker?), Vikings. That's 10 teams that i see in the market for either a starter or viable backup, and even then you have to consider teams drafting rookies or already having young qbs.

Would a team take Vick starting over giving a young qb a shot? Or over guys like Palmer, Smith, Fitz who'll also likely be looking for jobs? Its not a lock in any case.

Weeden is playing great for the Browns. Sam is also playing great for the Rams. Their issues are definitely NOT at QB. The Raiders have what they'd get from Vick in Palmer, who's also a home town boy they just gave up a ton to get. I think an argument can be made for the other teams you listed.

Agree about Sam and Weeden, that's why i put those guys as questionable. Palmer i mentioned because he's set to make Brady type money next year and obviously isn't worth that much.

He'll be gone if he doesn't take a paycut, and Mckenzie/Allen didn't make that trade you speak of and have no reason to hold onto Palmer if he isn't performing up to his contract. Palmer isn't the Raiders main problem, this team is years away from contending. Knowing that and the fact that there isn't an elite qb in this draft from what it seems, they could cut Palmer and bring in Vick for cheap to try and fill seats and be a lame duck until they get a qb of the future. Not saying it will happen, especially if Palmer does take the paycut.

Plus saying Palmer will stay bc he's a hometown boy is as faulty as saying Lebron would for the same reason. If the money isn't right, on either side, then ties will be severed.

Actually you're looking at it from the wrong angle but the Lebron thing is still a bad example. One is working on being a top player in the history of his sport, knowing his legacy will be tied to winning a championship... but he was in Cleveland. The other is on the tail end of a solid career that was spent with ups and downs in Cincy and now back in California where he's from. But the point is he has a fan base out there (I'm looking at it from the angle of the Raiders and their fans, not Palmer). He wasn't a splash signing for a championship but he's still a very good QB who people from the area have known since high school. I'm sure that's why they got Leinart to go behind him as well (who I think they'd make the stopgap if they were worried about paying Palmer). Even if they wanted a Vick type, I think they'd use Pryor as the stop gap.

Vick brings them nothing they don't already have. Compared to Palmer, he doesn't bring them closer to a championship and wouldn't fill any more seats. Compared to Pryor he should be a better player but we're talking about a stop gap so they'd go with the younger and cheaper option.

That is true but the main point remains - if Palmer doesn't take the pay cut he'll be gone. That was the main reason why I speculated about him in the first place. If course if he takes the pay cut he'll stay as a transitional QB, but if not then he'll be gone.

Him being from Cali won't change the price tag he's currently slated to get next year, and McKenzie didn't trade for him. The draft picks are a lost cause now, no reason to hold onto him to merit a trade that has no chance of living up to what it was made for. Pryor? lol. Depending on the price, Vick would certainly merit a look at that point is all I was saying. Is it likely? No, but is it possible? Yes, and that's why I listed it.

All of that is certainly true too. I just don't see them turning to Vick if that's the case. Vick's not coming for a bag of peanuts. That happened in Philly bc he was just out of jail and wanted anyone to give him a chance. Considering what he's making, I could see him waiting it out a bit (like Palmer did) before taking a huge pay cut to play for a non-contender. That's where Pryor comes in. The Raiders aren't going to throw a ton of money at Vick... it just wouldn't make sense. They might as well see what potential they have in home town boy Leinart or exciting double threat Pryor if they're going the stop gap route. Otherwise, it'll be some other bleh player like they did up until getting Palmer. At the end of the day, they'll be looking at the draft so Vick really wouldn't factor no matter how we look at it.

I could definitely see Vick on the Cards, or Jags next season.

Cards aren't going anywhere with Skelton, or Lindley and giving Kolb that contract looks like a giant flop now. Maybe they gamble on another Eagles QB?

With Jacksonville it seems like they want to give Gabbert more time, but if the GM, and Mularkey are out I can see the next regime wanting to start over fresh and Vick would fill the seats, and be the face of the franchise they've been missing.

Palmer is such a bipolar quarterback. Even if he had an amazing team around him he'd still only be average.

He hasn't been the same since he got wrecked
