Yes he has. He still can't recognize blitz, can't hold on the the football, and makes terrible decisions. He won't ever be a starter again

No, he's not. 9 Interceptions, 10 fumbles in 9 games.

      He's a backup.

I can't say that he will stay, but part of me wouldn't be surprised if Alex Smith stayed in San Francisco as a backup. He's only had success at the NFL level working with Jim Harbaugh, and there aren't many teams that have the total talent that the Niners have for Smith's limited skill set to go to. Even as a backup I think he could have more value to SF than as a potential starter for anyone else.

Assuming Smith does move on - NFL Network was playing matchmaker the other day and indicated the Jets as a possibility, and Smith certainly fits there from a team philosophy standpoint (what the Jets try to do, anyway) - pound the rock, pass off playaction, play great defense. That's exactly the model Smith is in with the Niners.

The Jets would need an insane running attack. They dont have that. If Smith goes to NY he'd be eaten alive.

There will be a coach that thinks he can fix what is wrong with Vick this year.

There will be an owner who wants to sell a ****load of jerseys.

The point is that Vick will be a starting quarterback somewhere next year.

Agreed. He will be a starter, but not based on his play.

This is a terrible idea. It would totally change the dynamic of the game. Teams would go for the 4th and 15 like crazy in the 4th Quarter. We've already eliminated 50% of all kickoffs. I'm well aware 8% of all concussions take place on the kickoff, but eliminating it entirely takes away a unique aspect of football. I'm not a fan of this idea.

Forget the guys that make a living off being on kickoff. Or guys like Terrell Davis that got there start on kickoff.

I'm not against it. Lost of injuries happen on kickoffs. Maybe if they could find a way to make the kickoff play less dangerous.

Remember that guys used to seriously run full speed all the way down the field and launch themselves recklessly at the wedge as a "job". They kind of eliminated that, so maybe they can change the kickoff dynamic to have less injuries

Guys, Kolb, Skelton, Fitzpatrick, TJax, Colt McCoy, Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez, and Blaine Gabbert have all started at some point the last two seasons.

                                Vick will be ok.
