He was a solid corner at UW before he decided on basketball. Had potential. Think he would've made it to the NFL if he had chosen football.

It was obvious he took most of the year off
Yeap. After Philly played Tampa this year, I was telling all my friends that Murray was not trying at all. He was definitely not giving any effort to run the ball and was falling down at the slightest contact.

Didn't he get too many touches that one year in Dallas?

Cowboys used him up before they let him go.

Well this is embarrassing, I was thinking of old Tigers stadium :o

i think we're still paying Sheffield though so I demand partial credit (how deep is the deepest straw I can grasp for?)

Football Outsiders pegged the Eagles' RB-independent rushing offense (i.e. their offensive line's ability to run block) as 3rd-worst in the league last year. Meanwhile Murray still averaged 1.8 yards after contact, which while that isn't what he posted with Dallas in 2014 (2.1 yards after contact), it's reasonably close (those stats per The Tennessean). To that end I question the assertion about low effort level on his part.

If the spin is that the Eagles' run game problems were primarily Murray and that getting rid of him is addition by subtraction for their rushing offense, fine, but I distinctly remember Weeks 1 and 2 where Murray was frequently getting met in the backfield literally the moment he got the ball. We'll see how Murray does with the Titans this year - I think he will do well - but it strikes me as intellectually dishonest to blame him for the failures of the Eagles' rushing offense this past season.

I think his issues were with Chip, the offensive makeup, offensive line ability. And the contract.

I was looking forward to how he'd do in Pederson/Reich's offense, but that ain't happening now.

I think he's got plenty left in the tank. He's always been a productive RB when he's on the field. But him saying last year felt like a year off doesn't help the perception of him and it's untrue. He was hurt last year too, just like he's always been outside of his 1900 yard season.

I think it was primarily scheme, coaching, and line play myself, but he really didn't seem like the running back we had hoped for when he was acquired. I just don't see why you would actually say that.....however not a bad as what Jenkins said about being lazy.
