It seems he was not. I guess media darlings are above the rules? I think the NFL should suspend him for a game though. If not for the bumping, that kick is a definite. Suh's nutsack shot is not nearly as egregious nor blatant as kick.
Yeah, and like Suh last year at Thanksgiving and like how Golden Tate didn't push off during the Inaccurate Reception.Afterward, Newton said he apologized to Boger, and got caught up in the heat of the moment. Big fine, i'd be shocked if they ever suspend a QB for on the field antics. Granted they could suspend him to make a point since the panthers are out of it since that seems to be NFL's way to do things, but once again doubt it.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

I like the sport, but the way the league has conducted itself as of late is worthy of spite. The blatant hypocrisy and what have you.
Newton deserves to be suspended for two offenses. The kick is the first offense, and the bumping of the ref is the second offense. If he does not sit, he should at least be fined separately for each offense.Thanks to LBzrules: So these threads won't be forever lost.

The Pagano story is a great one but what might be overlooked is that Bruce Arians may have coached his way to getting a full time head coach position in the league next year what with so many job openings to be had. I wonder if he'll get any calls and serious consideration.
It's hard to believe that a couple years ago quite a few Steeler fans were critical of his offense/play calling and now he may be on the cusp of a head coaching job thanks to filling in for Pagano.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Richard Sherman's defense is that his sample was contaminated because the cup was leaking and they unsealed it to place it into another cup. Apparently he has a shot at winning his appeal because of this.Originally posted by BlueNGoldComment
