Good for Cam. Cam, Big Ben, Vick (when he mattered) RGIII and QBs of that ilk don't get the same calls that Brady,Palmer, Brees get and its painfully clear if you watch enough games you see it. Before the conversation gets into TOS areas I don't think its a race thing its a play style/size thing. Shots that take Cam and Ben to the ground don't look as bad because they are huge compared to Brady/Brees so the same hits looks worse on them. What can the NFL do? I have no idea because clearly human whatever is driving the difference in calls. Denver was lighting Cam up in week 1 and he got one call that was off-setting it was rather sickening to watch if I am being honest.Moderator

I understand Cam's beef here as there does seem to be discrepancy in how mobile/big QBs are handled by the refs in comparison to others. I saw something similar to that in the Buffalo game yesterday when Tyrod Taylor was running down to the sideline and Hightower tackled him out of bounds and there was no call. Later on in the game on virtually the same spot a Bills player got called for that when he tackled a Pats receiver.
If you're going to put a "halo" around guys like Brady and Brees then you either have to do the same for the big/mobile QBs or call it the same way you would with a Cam or Big Ben. There can't be one set of rules for mobile big guys and one for your "regular/star" QBs.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I don't entirely agree with the Ben/Cam stuff, but the low shot on him was absolutely illegal, should be a fine, and hopefully starts being called better before an injury or two turns it into an unfortunate point of emphasis.

Refs have their favorites and those they think need more protecting than others. Vick had been destroyed his entire career to a blind eye by refs while refs bend over backwards protecting Brady Manning and Brees. It has been comical and it's not gonna change, ever.
Then again, these are the same refs who decide what is a penalty and what isn't by flipping a coin most of the time.Comment
