Eli cashed in off the strength on his 1st superbowl. He's still on that contract now but its not no 20 mil per! Hes a 12 mil per player.

What qbs get that kind of money today? Only Peyton from this admittingly half assed search I just did. I hope the Ravens dont get violated here.

The pro bowl won't change, not are there any viable changes to make to it.
Ok the Beach was a bad idea, but I don't see why they can't play Plain Flag Football on a regular field. I seem to recall a Legends Flag football game. It was a few years back and was being played for charity with players like Joe Montana, Kurt Warner, Emmit Smith and casual fans and the proceeds went to charity.

Players had no problem with it, I don't see the issue if they screened the fans heavily, so no wackos and of course there would be super tight security.

It's flag football so I doubt anyone's going to go hard, I would tune into a Game to see Peyton Manning just lofting air balls to Fireman Ed, if I was bored and had nothing else to do.

Legends is one thing, but it's so easy to be normal and throw a cheap shot at the knees and such. There would be nobody willing to put either themselves or their investment on the line with fans.

Robert Edwards strongly disapproves of the beach flag football game idea.

Ok you win lol. I pictured it as Harmless fun.

In my head I just pictured Peyton Manning easily lofting up half arsed beachball passes, to some Joe Shmoe with Champ Baily jogging and letting him run by him, or Patrick Willis half heartedly jogging after some little kid catching a slant and running into the endzone. While everyone's smiling and laughing.

Never did I think of something so sinister like crazy whack jobs Diving at Players Knees in Flag Football. "Yes here's my chance to take out Adrian Peterson, and end the Vikings season for next year"! Har har

It would be fun, but the risk is way too high for the people that have something to use. In a perfect world it would be awesome, unfortunately we don't have that luxury.

Then I'd have to agree with the side that says Eliminate it altogether, there's really no room in Pro Football for Meaningless games and it's just too much of a risk for Injury.

Don't forget most road playoff wins ever by a QB.

I don't follow actual salary numbers as much as a lot of you guys. The talk is Drew Brees/Peyton Manning money. I stand by my Eli statement... too hard to measure wins and playoff performance in the Ravens offense to future HOFers running pass heavy offenses. I also don't know what the inflation is on what Eli got back then... as in where did that contract rank when he got it.

Either way, he'll be riding this run much like Eli did before. They could've paid him last year but wanted to wait it out. And now the D this year took a big step back and Flacco stepped up and led them to the SB so all the balls are in his court.

I think Eli cashed in as the richest contract at the time. I remember him taking flak for it for "not deserving" the figure. Of course that contract has been beaten multiple times now. So Flacco being the richest qb in history following a strong postseason performance leading to the superbowl isnt new ground to break.

I know other QBs are rooting for him to get that 20 per though haha

That's more where my head is. I think we were talking about this earlier... can't really look at it based on what is "deserved" in terms of dollars. It's always in comparison to what someone else is making at the time. I'm pretty sure $17 mil was on the table before so $20 mil sounds like what it'll be.
