Now the Peters trade makes sense.

      Initially I’m mixed on this.

      Pros
      1. We have two good young corners we could keep for a while. Our secondary is definitely upgraded.

      Cons
      1. Jimmy Smith will be returning in the next couple of weeks. He is a solid corner when healthy. Part of me feels like we overpaid for a band aid when the wound was already 75% healed.
      2. We gave up ILB Kenny Young. He’s not great, lost his starting spot for a reason. But LB is already a position we are thin at. Wonder if this means we have interest in Zach Brown.
      3. Just think pass rush is a greater long term need

How much more obvious could last night's PI have been? He pinned the WRs arm...

We do realize that this kind of thing can be easily used to change the outcome of games and spreads, yes?

Not that this is new, but the mechanisms for it taking place and subsequently being chalked up to "rules interpretation" are very much in front of our faces
Yup. It's what happens when rules get muddled.

It's plain as day to see. I've warned about this for years and was roundly mocked each time about sounding the "slippery slope" alarm.

When it becomes harder to officiate, officiating becomes worse.

Just found out that the previously undisclosed draft pick Baltimore gave to the Rams in exchange for Peters was a 5th rounder.

Knowing that I love this trade for Baltimore

                Double?! Yikes

Fitzpatrick named starter for Miami against Buffalo in Week 7. Brian Flores previously said Rosen would start the remainder of the season. I’m beginning to think he doesn’t know what he’s doing. Looking like another average to below former Belichick coach.

I get that the Dolphins are stripped of most of their talent, but as a coach you should be getting the most out of your team. I guess they’ve showed improvement, but going back and forth at QB is the hallmark of a bad team. No consistency. Not that either guy has been good or really deserves to be the guy, but the back and forth would make me believe coach don’t know what he’s doing if I was a player.

My only thought was maybe Fitz knows this Bills defense/team, but it’s been a while since he was with Buffalo. I know he brings a veteran presence, Bills defense is pretty good, maybe he’s trying to protect Rosen or doesn’t believe he can keep up. Whole thing is a mess.

Bills need to sweep these guys this year. We have a path to a playoff berth. Outside of NE and BAL, our stiffest completion is Philly and Dallas who are in shambles defensively or offensively at the moment. Steelers, Broncos, Redskins, Jets, and Browns present varying levels of challenge but should be beaten.

This almost seems to be something about Fitzpatrick rather than the coach. He's done this at his last 3 stops where he bounces back and forth between the starter and bench.

If I was the coach, I'd start the other QB every game and have Fitzpatrick enter if we were losing in the 2nd half or once we got down 2 scores. That seems to be when he plays best.

I also hate when a coach makes multiple QB changes or even just once early in the season. It seems reactionary and as a fan it doesn’t inspire confidence that the coach knows what he is doing.

Walsh did this for six years.

I don’t think Flores is gonna do a 1/4 of what Walsh ended up doing, with the Super Bowls, architecting the modern passing offense, winning all those games.

I also don’t think Fitz and Rosen are Montana and Young, lol

On the whole, rotating QB’s doesn’t seem to work regularly for sustained success.

I will never understand why the QB position can't be treated like any other position as far as getting benched.

Because the QBs role in the gameplan is so much larger than other positions.

Yeah, and the leadership aspect of it too. There was word that the team wanted Fitz over Rosen. They trust him more. Sounds weird, but they know he’s done it before even if he does stupid **** too. Rosen hasn’t shown much of anything so far.

The backup is in all the same meetings. He’s practicing. He knows the game plan. It’s a fine line. You can kill a team by keeping an underperforming QB in too long too. The coach needs to read the room and know when the time’s right. If that’s in week 5, you make the change in week 5.
