Re: NFL Off Topic
Bosa and Mayfield aren't exactly best friends, going back to when Ohio State played Oklahoma. And some of the 49ers - most notably Sherman, who is obviously gone - weren't real happy with Mayfield before the 49ers and Browns played in 2019.
Little things that are easily swept away if he's a clear upgrade. But he's not a clear upgrade at this point in his career.Last edited by LowerWolf; 12-06-2022, 11:04 AM.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I guess it’s a matter of if he’s a upgrade over the current situation at the moment with that team.
Obviously there’s a risk for either situation, it’s just a matter of how much. You have a team that’s got talent on Offense, currently leading their Division with less than a month left in the season.
Do you trust a rookie QB to be able to not have any drop off at the position while still keeping the team in contention or would you rather go with any available Vet QB where you know they won’t try to do too much because they’ve been in situations like this at one point in their career. It’s a tough call either way but like I said, it’s about how much risk at this point in the season.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
You never want to lose your starting QB (let alone twice). But the 49ers are probably the best positioned to deal with it of any team in the league. They already asked less of their QB than any other contender.
Jimmy G isn't the most talented QB, but that locker room loves him. They've already started rallying around Purdy. I'm not sure Baker would get that same support.
Probably all moot anyway, since I'm guessing somebody before the 49ers will claim him.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Give Josh Johnson the keys!
I don’t know if it’s a good idea, but it would be an awesome career turn for him.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

You guys can have Russell Wilson if you’ll take his contract. Don’t even need a pick.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Titans fire GM Jon Robinson. Timing of it makes little sense. They cited direction of roster. They have a 3 game lead for the division. Haven't done great in FA and trades, and that Isaiah Wilson draft pick was terrible. But, must be something else behind the scenes to do it in seasonComment

Vrabel didn’t want to trade AJ Brown and Robinson did it anyway.
Then Brown torched them, the timing lines up.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
But, that loss to the Eagles was bad. Eagles dominated.them despite having like 10 offensive penalties. It was weird seeing the Eagles commit that many penalties, but none that affected them scoring at all. The idea that if you stop Henry, you shut down the offseason or having to keep it 3rd and 4 or less. They were 7-0 against teams under .500 , but 0-5 against teams over. 500
I get not wanting to pay a WR that much money, but that's the going rate for elite WRs. So what if Burks turns out to be a stud. It sends off a bad message that you don't want to reward your best players. Especially an elite WR just entering his prime when you have a limited QB. I would understand if they were rebuilding and didn't want to pay that much money for a WR. But, they are trying to compete for titles.Last edited by illwill10; 12-06-2022, 03:13 PM.Comment
