Re: NFL Off Topic
We can make a long list of Al Davis decisions. Once the sport evolved beyond a certain point, he was dunzo. Grit and attitude and shootin' from the hip didn't work no more.Comment

Captain Andrew Luck and his letter to his dearest mother LMAO. I loved this account.
Then Andrew leans right in LMAO
If you don't understand this one rest the article
Andrew Luck doesn't come off as a person who spends a lot of time online, but the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback is apparently aware of at least one internet-related phenomenon.

Re: NFL Off Topic
I absolutely knew the Steelers offense was beyond terrible with Canada, and this year is proving to be no different, but seeing this article once everything was broken down, this is just beyond pathetic at this point....
Per Sharp Football Analysis’ Warren Sharp, Pittsburgh is averaging only 19.6 yards per drive (last in the NFL), eight points per game (last), 0.4 points per minute of possession (last). “To equate that to scoring a touchdown, they would need to have the ball for an average of 18-and-a-half minutes just to score the equivalent of one touchdown,” said Sharp.
On the pass rate chart that Sharp compiled, the Steelers are out on an island. 82 percent of the time they’re in shotgun, it’s a pass play, and 90 percent of the time that they’re under center, it’s a run play.
This issue (imo) has 3 "players" in this disaster....
1-Art Rooney II
2-Mike Tomlin
3-Kenny Pickett
The "Chief" should be turning over in his grave to see what this team has become, it's actually quite embarrassing at this point, and this article easily proves that.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Canada should be calling plays in high school, but curious why Pickett has regressed. I mean they're 1-1 but nothing feels in sync at all. Running game can't get going to take some heat off Kenny and open up play action. Most of the time in passing downs hes moving the pocket and making horrible decisions.
If you keep Canada but take a QB, whats to say he won't suffer the same fate as Pickett?Last edited by LambertandHam; 09-24-2023, 12:20 AM.Comment

A quick look will see that under Canada, while imo Trubisky is nothing more than a backup, the offense still continues to sputter and is unable to score, even with a more mobile QB to run Canada's "complex scheme"
In the draft, Pittsburgh also picks Pickett at #20 to "prepare" for the future, who then proceeds to get "thrown into the fire" last year due to the offense not producing and Tomlin feeling the offense "needed a spark"
The outcome? same damn poor offense that Trubisky was a part of, couldn't produce points, but hey Tomlin finishes above .500 so the season wasn't a complete wash, right?
IIRC, there was a stat from their game against the 9ers, total yards SF 199, Pittsburgh 1!
This team right now is a mess, can't run block, can't pass protect, defense can't stop the run, I mean good Lord, Chubb would've had 100+ yards by the half had he not gotten hurt.
I understand Pickett is only a second year QB, but during Monday night's game he was off target quite a bit, and those passes were the med to short variety.
Also as far as Canada goes, why not involve your stud second year WR Pickens in the game? I fear what's going to happen is Pickens will get frustrated in not getting enough looks, and will want to leave Pittsburgh.
I also feel that Warren is currently the better option as he runs more north and south, while Najee still "shuffles" and runs east to west...
On the defensive side, while to me the obvious standouts are Watt, Highsmith and Fitzpatrick...these guys are never going to get a chance at playing in a Super Bowl unless it's with another team, hell they will be lucky to win a playoff game, something the Steelers haven't done under Tomlin since 2016...
What the opening game easily proved, was the Steelers are no where NEAR ready to take the "next step"...People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Oh dear mother of God...could it possibly get any worse?
How could the Pittsburgh Steelers possibly make the Matt Canada situation any worse? Double down on his duties and add working more closely with quarterback Kenny Pickett on the daily. It makes sense, right? No, I didn’t think so.People are for reviews if it backs their argument, and against them when they don't.“I believe the game is designed to reward the ones who hit the hardest – If you can’t take it, you shouldn’t play!” Jack Lambert“Quarterbacks should wear dresses.” Jack LambertComment
