Vick went to jail and a team still gave him a chance. I feel like it's something more than just that.
Surprising that ESPN would write an article discussing media circuses surrounding sports figures...when that network thrives on sports gossip and beating a dead horse.

Tebow, for example, is even in the best scenario pretty much an average NFL QB. Somehow, he got on ESPN's radar as someone we need to care about...and now the guy can't sign anywhere because teams don't want to put up with the crap that comes along with him. At most, Tebow signing with anyone should be a footnote at the end of the show as it is fading off air...instead, ESPN will hash it to death and replay the same opinions from 20 different "NFL Experts" for weeks on end. I still have never been able to figure out how they decide what is worth covering, and debating...because their view of what's important in the sports world is a lot different than mine.

It's not surprising, it's their MO.

I'll never understand the fascination that people have with ****ty players here. And it's not just in the NFL but pretty much all major sports around, especially with Football and Basketball.

Because some don't look at athletes as just athletes. Now, those still praising Tebow as a QB? No answer for that.

Wait…what? First off, you don't have to understand it, but are you saying people should only care about stars? This statement is baffling to me.

You said you don't understand people's fascination with bad players…why can't we be fascinated with them? Just because you aren't?

I figured we ALL watched Sports to watch the BEST players play, which is why I asked anyone to help me understand, especially in Tebow's case.

Let me stop beating around the bush: What is the fascination that people have with a ****ty QB like Tebow get another chance just to be ****ty on another team? It was the same thing with Vince Young too.

Maybe people enjoy watching him play, despite his lack of ability? Don't they have that right? I find it odd that it would even bother you…who cares if he gets a chance, if he does anything, etc…it doesn't affect you, so why should you care? As a kid my favorite players weren't superstars…is that wrong?

I enjoy watching the best players, but that isn't why I watch sports at all…if they were all Aaron Rodgers it would get boring.

I don't have a fascination with Tebow. I just don't get why some are so easy to say he's a ****ty QB and shouldn't be a starting QB but he has a winning record when he starts and has a playoff win. He's had better success than a lot of ****ty QBs that get more opportunities.

Id rather have more players like Tebow who are positive and doesn't get in trouble compared to others in the NFL.
