This Tebow saga is always interesting to me. He has more playoff wins as a Bronco than Manning does which doesn't really matter but he does have a playoff win so I'm surprised teams don't give him more of a chance compared to other QBs that get chance after chance after chance who hasn't done crap.

Re: NFL Off Topic
Not really. Manning has played in more playoff games than Tebow has started his entire career, regular season included.
See how anyone can combine random pointless stats?
Too bad Manning only led his team to the first seed and didn't have a chance last week to test that statistic... Another Tebow miracle perhaps?

Stats can be pointless like how Tebow has a better winning percentage in the playoffs than Manning.MLB: Texas Rangers

Not really a telling stat given the sample size...
It wasn't meant to be serious but he has a playoff win and a winning record overall when he starts. I'm just surprised teams won't give him more of a chance while other QBs get plenty of chances and give less results than what Tebow does.MLB: Texas Rangers

Re: NFL Off Topic
Other QB's as ****ty as Tebow don't bring the ridiculous media attention that surrounds Tebow. The only team I could see wanting that kind of attention is the Cowboys.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

I still think Tebow would've been good for Jacksonville. Local hero, put fans in the stands, and could win more than 4 games..Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Yes he is a different QB than your typical one but most people say they dont care as long as you win. Well he does have a winning record and he does have a playoff win. I think there is something more to it than just winning but I wont go into that.
We can look at 3 different QBs. From their 2nd year in the NFL since that is when Tebow started most of his games.
GP/GS % YDS Y/ATT TD INT RTG R. Yds Avg TD SACK FUM LOST
QB A 15/15 54.9 2936 7.0 16 8 81.6 777 6.9 8 33 9 6
QB B 14/11 46.5 1729 6.4 12 6 72.9 660 5.4 6 33 13 6
QB C 15/14 63.9 2843 6.9 18 12 86.2 43 1.2 0 41 12 3
SpoilerA is Vick
B is Tebow
C is Brady
Tebow is obviously the worst of the 3 but like I said above IMO he deserved another chance.MLB: Texas Rangers

NCAA: SMU, UTA
NFL: Dallas Cowboys
NHL: Dallas Stars
NBA: Dallas Mavericks

Re: NFL Off Topic
I honestly think the reason he hasn't been given another chance to be a backup or compete elsewhere is because the circus that follows him isn't worth it.
When he was in Denver, there were billboards, newspaper ads, and other nonsense for him as a backup quarterback.
I can't imagine a team wanting to bring that on. It's especially unfortunate that it's to no fault of his own.
I'm not necessarily endorsing him as a great quarterback, but I do think he's proven enough to at the very least be given the shot to compete for a team's third string quarterback.Comment

I actually like Tebow, and I would love to see another team give him a chance.

I'm curious how Manziel will be received then. His circus may be worse than Tebows. At least that's what an article on ESPN was saying.
I wasn't born yet but from my understanding Joe Namath had a pretty big circus too.
Vick went to jail and a team still gave him a chance. I feel like it's something more than just that.MLB: Texas Rangers

Re: NFL Off Topic
If this article is right, teams which play aggressively on defense will thrive in the playoffs:
Since 2001, nine teams have committed 20 or more of these penalties (including this season's Seahawks). None of them had a losing record, and most of them won big.Expect the no-calls to get worse in the playoffs. This season, NFL officials called 12.2 penalties a game, but in last week's wild-card round, they called 7.8. There has been a 41% drop in postseason penalties since the 2008 playoffs, while in the regular season, penalties are up 8.9% in that time.
Would be interesting to see how many of the 9 teams since 2001 to have over 20 PI and defensive holding calls ended up winning it all.
The 41% drop in penalties in the playoffs in the last 6 years is also interesting. Did they publicly say they'd lighten up on the enforcement for the playoffs? Or maybe they concluded fewer flags made for a more attractive game.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
But Tebow isn't meant to be a backup. Of course he's not gonna make the team as one. It's his curse. He needs to just play. He's not gonna "look" better in practice or even in a game. But suddenly you look up and your team has won the game or made the playoffs.
Tebow is results. LolNHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Thought this was a pretty great commercial. Features Seahawks FB Derrick Coleman, who is legally deaf.
