@Jr. - you don't need a willing victim to go forward with DV's. Women who get beat badly by their men go back to them far, far too often. I've seen it so many times.

Just watched that video…it is simply unbelievable that Roger Goodell, who had access to this when making his decision, arrived at a 2 game suspension. He had to think this video would never show the light of day.

Now, if they take further action, they look bad…if they don't take any further action they look bad. Way to go...

Not going to comment on the legal side of this because I'm no lawyer and I'm sure Rice's earned his money.

But I literally have lost all respect for Roger Goodell and his handling of this. I sure he, Rice and the Ravens thought this footage would never see the light of day. It's just savage.

The NFL claims they havent seen this video until today.

I highly doubt that…they can claim that all they want, but Peter King has reported they did see it and I would say if they didn't they really didn't due diligence.

Yeah... this is going to get very interesting. The NFL can't give him another suspension now (I don't think), but something must be done to punish him, and if the NFL really saw the video and just slapped him on the wrist like this... oh man...

On a side note, Adam Schefter just went off on ESPN First Take about this.

No it's not.

In this case that's what she did and it also is a reason why DV laws are more strict and the DA's can go forward with prosecution.

If John Doe steals from Wal-Mart and Wal-Mart doesn't want to prosecute the DA's will never move forward with a case.

If John Doe assaults his wife Jane Doe and Jane Doe doesn't want to prosecute the DA's can move forward with the case.

I wasn't trying to steer this discussion to women who go back to mean who beat them. I was trying to illustrate why DA's can move forward with cases of this nature without the victim's desire to do so, and it's exactly because of what I said.

Hopefully this clarifies why my statement was relevant.

Deadspin says he's "quietly walking back" his reporting that the NFL had the full video.

Honestly, I don't see how they didn't considering their influence and power.

That's funny didn't the guy who went on Mike & Mike to defend the 2 game suspension say they had all the relevant evidence before they made their decision?

I can't remember but I could've sworn he said something along those lines.

Interesting timing of the video being released. My guess is the authorities didn't have this video either. Wouldn't surprise me if the video was buried, or if Rice paid the right people to hide it. Revel had been in trouble financially for a while and it was rumored to be closing for a while. Now that the Revel (hotel where this took place) has shuttered (2 weeks ago now?), there's no one left to question or to blame for the video being withheld. TMZ will protect it's source/sources and wont tell police where the video came from.

That interview with Mike & Mike was atrocious. It was so ridiculously bad I couldn't believe it.

Also, this makes me recall the Jovan Belcher incident from two years ago. Talk about tragic...
