League backing up their refs like they always do.

All the ways they pick up sound in the stadium, NFL film crews all over the place, witnesses everywhere yet no evidence of him racially slurring anywhere? Well we'll lower the now completely unfounded fines against you.

I don't condone what Burfict did at all but it's only known to the world because some players spoke up about it and social media got a hold of it. Guarantee you he's not the first player in the NFL this season to give the lower leg of an opponent with a known injury an extra twist. He's just an all-pro and was accused of playing dirty at ASU. Any other guy does it and we probably wouldn't hear much about it. Now it will not surprise me if this isn't the last time we hear it happening this year with a player.

Maybe Nugent missed that FG in OT because he slipped on wet turf caused by all of the Panthers crying over what Burfict did.

(I don't really mean that last sentence. Only kidding)
I hate the "it's football" defense. He did this to two different players in one game and both clearly after the whistle. That's not football. I'd feel the same way if it happened at the bottom of the pile AFTER the whistle. I know it'd be near impossible to see it at the bottom of the pile, but it's still not right, and it's not football.

They said he still cursed (don't shoot the messenger).

It's a shame that sports has jaded me to the point where I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop with this guy. I hope it doesn't happen.

That lurks in the back of my mind but I push it out of there. JJ Watt is my favorite player in the entire league if he's ever exposed as a fraud or something like that I think that will be the last time I ever believe that there can be 100% good people in the world of sports.

Even though there are plenty of good people in the world of sports right now? lol.

JJ Watt is awesome though. One of my favorites and I'm a Colts fan.

I've been fearing the same thing. I think I said it earlier in the thread but I drink a lot so who knows . The only thing the media loves more than hyping/praising a guy relentlessly is turning the tables and bringing him down tenfold. I have no reason to suspect that will happen with Mr. Watt, and it makes me sad to even insinuate it, but I'm leery anyway.

My pessimistic nature is waiting for the same thing. For now, I'll enjoy it because frankly, the world sucks and I need a little bit of good to believe in. I don't care how sad that sounds.

I did laugh at this "you can't find a sack at a club" comment though, mainly because I'm immature. Well, if you go the clubs Vince Young has been photographed in....

I hope LA doesnt get 2 teams. 1,sure, but 2 is too much. Tired of every sport having 2 LA teams. They just dive right in to that but if its some other city, it takes so much to even have a shot at 1. Which would people rather see....Rams or Raiders back in LA? And where should the other team go if they also move?

The NFL is literally incapable of admitting they were wrong about anything.

Except the NFL didn't reduce his fine, an arbiter did. It remained for the language/taunting I think. No proof of the slur is why it was reduced.

As for the NFL never admitting to being wrong... you might want to skip any video of the commissioner speaking in the last few months.

If there was a problem beyond the headlines the NFLPA would file a grievance or something - which they've yet to do.

Seahawks might actually miss playoffs? If so, would be only 2nd time in NFL history that 3 consecutive SB winners didn't make the playoffs the following year(previous was in early 80s where Steelers,Raiders,49ers all missed)

This game didn't get a thread, but smh at the Chargers doing that ice the kicker nonsense with a timeout that there's a chance they could actually need.
