Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
Better short term, but he's not the answer full time. I was hoping Blaine was, but I should have remembered the football Gods hate me, a point they made incredibly clear this year.
That, of course, is why we'll get stuck with a Geno Smith and have to live through football hell for a few more years longer. I just wish I could figure out how I can get off of the **** list of the Gods.Jacksonville Jaguars

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
Not sold on Henne being a franchise QB, which the Jags need. If the Jags get a shot at a top tier QB they should take it, not rely on Henne who at his best still isn't a top tier QB IMO.
Gabbert was just a bad pick. Prime example of a guy who gets hyped up by the McShays of the world when they seem him at the draft combine.Comment

If there's one thing I know about the Jags post-1999, it's that the Jags will make the WRONG choice.Rose City 'Til I Die

I never liked the Gabbert pick. Why not just build the rest of your team up first. They need help in other areas, right? It's not like their young QB, if they draft one, would have anyone to throw to.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
They cant abort on Gabbert after two years. Isnt it the 4th year that it starts to really tick?
But seriously, Gabbert was a product of the ESPN draft coverage machine. He had a mediocre college season; when he was projected top 10 I was so puzzled. I remember the discussions were about who to take first between him and Newton.Last edited by kingkilla56; 12-01-2012, 07:23 AM.Comment

Gabbert hasn't shown any improvement from year one to two except during this years pre season. He's too scared an doesn't have any commandComment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
Gabbert did show some improvement. It just wasn't at a consistent enough level. He looked better in the pocket this season and showed some promise. Not saying he is the answer, but he did improve upon last season.Jacksonville Jaguars

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
Teams are giving QBs shorter time to progress, especially given how many young QBs are succeeding in the league today (Dalton, Luck, RG3, Wilson, Tannehill).Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
I think most QBs are given 3 years usually. Been that way as far as I can remember, although there have been some exceptions to that.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic 2012
I know that, I'm just saying that it may be changing now given how other young QBs are coming in and finding success quickly after being drafted. Maybe I should have said it may be changing now, especially considering that it's turning into more and more of a pass friendly league now.Comment
