    Re: NFL Off Topic

Agree that anything is certainly possible. My hope (a term I don't use loosely with the Chiefs) is that KC can win a playoff game. From there, I'll be rooting for an upset of Denver so they don't have to go back there. Then, aside from the Chargers, I think the Chiefs can beat anyone in the AFC field. Just don't want to see Denver again . I'm not predicting anything, but am much happier with the remaining matchups - including @ NE.

Of course then they'd lose to whomever makes it in the NFC in the Super Bowl, but I'll take that outcome over 1 and done any day.

Enjoy this subthread btw, we should have started a playoffs thread when people started clinching.

          Why?

But then again, you're a fan of the majority of teams that have won since 2000, when you were born.

I thought I liked Marty Schottenheimer as a coach and person but after watching A FOOTBALL LIFE on him I like him even more. What a great coach and even better human being.

Daniel Snyder's foolish decision to fire Marty IMO set the Redskins organization back easily 10 years. Even as a Redskins fan I enjoyed every bit of the success he had in San Diego as a giant **** you to Dan Snyder. Forgot about that tonight, will watch it at 12 when they re-air it.

He even picked a good FCS team, impressive.

I'm sure you'll see it but....Snyder's excuse was so lame I laughed out loud. Yeah take away the carrot that Marty went for (GM duties) before he could even have ONE offseason in that capacity.

Try not to judge me by my teams though... I just don't like being a fan of a team I haven't actually seen win. If the teams I liked stopped being good I wouldn't switch.

That's the tough part right there, though.

You've never followed a team like the Cubs, Brewers, Packers in the 70's and 80's or the Browns and Raiders of recent.

You don't know what it's like to experience losing with your favorite teams.

It's called being a bandwagon fan.

I recall my teenage son doing the same thing until he became older.

Watching Tampa and Michigan lead to a lot of nights on the couch eating tubs of ice cream and tears.

I may be biased, but the Cowboys are the biggest tease in the NFL. Being a Cowboys fan has definitely taken a few years off my life. It wouldn't be so bad if they just **** the bed like in the early '00s...but nope...let's **** with our fans a bit. Looks like we are heading to our 3rd straight 8-8 season....all 3 coming down to final week.
