My opinion is that hitting a woman, be it drunk, high, sober, whatever, is one of the most despicable acts you can do and falls into another category rather than "just a drunken mistake" or a "one time incident."
And that's a reasonable viewpoint that I would agree with, it was the perceived tone that set me off. Either way, my impassioned response was in the heat of the moment lol.

Nowhere in his post did I ever see him taking a high moral ground or being on his high horse??????

I know you don't think it's okay to hit a woman right?

If your argument is people do dumb things when drunk I don't think anyone would disagree.

I'm pretty sure his response wasn't even directed at you.
"I don't know what kind of people you hang out with, but..." C'mon man, you're gonna tell me starting with that doesn't sound a hell of a lot like talking down to someone? Like insinuating things about someone you know nothing about?

Kind of like a, "I know you don't think it's ok to hit a woman, right?"

I never said anything about hitting a woman ever being ok, quite the opposite in fact.

Regardless, I'm not really interested in having an argument about an argument.

Misunderstanding or whatever, it's over with.

Bmore, it's all good man. I apologize if I came off as on my "high horse." Didnt mean for it to read like that. We're pretty much in agreement anyways.

And to Kaiser, it's who the punch was directed at. Hitting a woman is almost always off limits in my book unless it's a situation where you feel like your life could be in danger.

Ha, the two of you are in agreement, he never even said anything to the contrary of your post!!!

Just re-read his post, even though he didn't admit it I'm still pretty certain his response was aimed at another poster in this thread who won't be named, not you....

          My thoughts on Harbaugh/Browns

Been reading about this. Not sure now true it is or not. Seem to be a lot of people saying its true. I know York came out and said not true at all, but being the 49ers owner, that's what I would expect him to say.

Baalke and Harbaugh are not the closet of friends and there has yet to be an extension offered to Harbaugh. So maybe he does want to leave. Or maybe it's just leverage from Harbaugh's agent to get a bigger deal when an extension is offered. Harbaugh only has two years left.

Even if Harbaugh wants to leave, I wouldn't see why he would agree to a trade to the browns. The talent is already thin there, and then the Browns would have to give up draft picks and or players to spread the talent even thiner. Plus it's the Browns, just not a gold situation at all.

We may see a few more of these rumors pop up from other teams if a deal isn't offered or signed and teams know Harbaugh wants out.

No, normally in today's society if a lady picks a fight and she gets hit/knocked out as a return there are two charges just like there are here.

Already giving them for some language, this is probably a effort to be more consistent.

They need to publish a list of what terms are to be considered slurs. I'm already tired of things that are left up to the judgement of the officials.

I don't see how they could possibly implement a personal foul language penalty. Players could use it to their advantage just like flopping, acting like someone else said one of the magic words to them. The smart teams will teach their players how to throw their voices

Seriously though, how in the world would that actually be legislated?

Hm, I'm sure a lot of players scream "N word" with an "a" at each other all the time. Technically that'd be a racial slur but it's between two people of the same ethnicity....Is the NFL going to make referees enforce this because just about every big play is going to result in some flag being thrown.

Before the game during warmups, 2 players will meet at the 50 yard line and exchange the coded trash talking words for that week. NFL will have no clue their meaning and could make for some hilarious sounds of the game.
