    Re: NFL Off Topic

Regarding Goodell: He's become the weakest commissioner the NFL has seen since the days of Bert Bell. He's clearly a puppet of the owners and can't even stand up on his own two legs. All the things he's been doing has been for the purpose of wringing every cent he can from fans and the networks and creating an overexposed, wussified (though some moves i'm ok with) version of football. At some point the NFL is going to become such a huge bloated mess that it's going to implode on itself. I know Mark Cuban got some flack for basically saying the same thing but trust me, the NFL is setting itself up for a huge fall once it becomes too big for its britches so to speak.

Regarding Kosar: I see he's using the past as a scapegoat. He should listen to some of the things he's said on those broadcasts. It's not his speech that got him fired it's the content. He needs to wake up and smell the coffee.

Regarding Earl Morrall: R.I.P., i've never actually seen broadcast clips of him but everything i've read and seen on NFL Films and whatnot leads me to believe he was a pretty good QB and he was really the unsung hero of the '72 Dolphins team. Some people don't realize it but Morrall played a good chunk of that year due to Bob Griese getting injured.

Earl Morrall, at least towards the end of his career, might have been one of the best "backup" quarterbacks in NFL history. In the 2 years he won a Super Bowl, he started each season as the backup.

Of course Goodell is a puppet for the owners. He's employed by them.

True, but the real good commissioners give themselves a bit of leeway fo operate somewhat independently.

Roger needs to stop this madness. Taking the draft to other locations would be the only thing I wouldn't mind them doing.
Looks like Mark Cuban was right.

what are they going to do to extend the draft? extend the time to pick round 2 & 3 and put them on 1 night each? no one really watches the rest of the draft

Goodell is doing the opposite of everything he should be doing. Hopefully he doesn't go down as the one who ruined the NFL, right now it looks like he will.

The draft moving to 4 days would piss me off. I was okay with it being two days but I hate three days.

Just wait for the actual draft where they play the same two commercials over and over . Last year was the Crysis game commercial with ZZ Top playing in the background.

Moving to four days is just stupid. I'll watch the draft for the first two days and have it on while doing other stuff on the final day, but extending it four days is over kill. There is no way to separate it without it being dumb(1/2/3/4-7 or 1-2/3/4-5/6-7 or something like that.) Three days is fine, but four will just overreach as the final day isn't really watch that heavily after the first round or two.

Cuban is really proving to be right, and I hope he sits back and laughs if/when this blows up in the NFL's face.

Interesting, it's kinda funny how he had a tryout with the Bills a couple years ago and now he's getting a shot with Cleveland.
