If he had a crystal ball and saw the decade+ of average at best Cowboy teams, I'm positive he would've gone another way with that decision.
Way OT, but aren't the Cowboys the second-most-valuable team in sports behind Manchester United? (edit: actually fourth behind Man.U, Real Madrid, and the New York Yankees).

We know Jerruh likes winning, but Jerruh also likes money. I'd say his business decisions have more than worked out for him. Its his football decisions, however, that get him into trouble, and why the Cowboys as a football team are what they are right now.

All that aside, I enjoyed the joke.

PFF's grading system is cumulative, so the fact that Aaron Rodgers missed games to injury hurt his grade significantly by virtue of not having the opportunity to improve it. Playoff games also add to the cumulative score, so Wilson's team getting to and winning the Super Bowl inflated his grade too.

Over the course of the whole season, one could argue Russell Wilson had a better total season than Aaron Rodgers by virtue that Wilson played in 16 + 3 playoff good games vs Rodgers' great nine + one playoff game. Doesn't mean Wilson is a better player, just that he put together a better total season.

Just realized nobody's mentioned Ray Rice avoiding jail time.

It'll be interesting to see if Godell does anything more. I'm not surprised at the result to this point but would be if he didn't get a game or two off. However, if that video (as bad as it looked) is the only thing they have to go by, I'm not sure he really should get anything more.

Probably the same reason Adrian Peterson is not on the list despite being 5th in rushing yards last year. The missing 2 games hurt him.

Calvin Johnson at 35? Josh Gordon who despite missing 2 games lead the league in receiving at 74?

              Both seem way too low.

You guys do know that their stats factor in other things like pass and run blocking too, right? Not to mention the amount of drops they all had probably hurt a bit too.

I didn't. Like I said I skimmed at the list. I'm not familiar with PFF. I actually originally looked for an explanation, but a subsequent post here explained that they don't give one as far as what metrics they use.

Community service, no suspension and a 'slap-on-the-wrist' fine probably.

Like has been stated, they go on cumulative scores throughout the season.

They don't use "metrics" as much as positive/average/negative plays. Each player has their snaps watched, and they get graded on a +/ /- scale. No score for "doing your job/being a body", positive score for a going above your job, and a negative for a bad snap.

The list is surprising. The problem is a lot of the stats/formulas are behind a pay wall so people see the list and go "OMG... metrics are stupid" because PFF doesn't really explain anything. They just go "trust us" and that's more of a problem than the metrics themselves. Metrics need transparency.
Agreed, especially given the fact that PFF's rankings so often seem to be at odds with reality. A case in point that cemented my skepticism towards all things PFF: an article from Jan 2013 ranking the 2012 OL's.

                            22. Dallas Cowboys (15th in 2011)

                            Pass blocking - 26th Run Blocking – 8th, Penalties – 32nd
Stud: Never let us say we can’t be wrong. Nate Livings (+11.3) had his most consistent year as a pro in Dallas, making a mark with his run blocking.

Dud: It may be time to admit that signing Doug Free (-10.1) long-term just hasn’t worked out. There were too many games where he was taken to the woodshed by explosive defensive ends.

Summary: The Cowboys have put some money into their line recently, but the return just wasn’t there in 2012. Tyron Smith had an at times awkward first year at left tackle, while Mackenzy Bernadeau gave up too much pressure for an interior linemen. There is talent here, but like a lot of spots in Dallas you don’t always see it.
In 2012 the avg NFL team had 435.2 rushing atts for 1854.7 yds (4.3/att), 96.9 rushing 1st downs and 12.5 rushing tds. The Boys numbers: 355 atts, 1265 yds (3.6/att), 76 1st downs and 8 tds. All of those numbers were franchise lows, and yet somehow PFF determined that Dallas had the 8th best run blocking unit in the NFL.

Anyone who watched that Cowboys team on a regular basis could tell you that PFF's ranking was absurd, and that whatever methodolgy they used to arrive at it was badly flawed. Based on the current article that is still the case. "Garbage in, garbage out...".

I don't think anyone here would defend Rice or any man who's hit a woman. However, there isn't any evidence besides the video we've seen. I thought sure there'd be another video surfacing but that doesn't appear to be the case.
