Seems like an odd time for a restructure. What do they gain by doing this?

Saints fans, what are you guys up to?

Apparently NE fans are making a big deal out of what they think was Ben using a cellphone during Thursday's game.

        NFL Off Topic

Saw that on social media all day yesterday, then later on the nightly CSNNE show. At first I thought it was something a blog or someone online had cooked up to cause controversy. As the day progressed it became clear the story had become a thing in New England.

I would classify those pushing this thing along as the minority, but it's happening, and it's stupid. Must be a short on things to talk about with a bye week.

Yeah, don't get why certain media outlets are actually trying to make it a story.

I find it a little precious that New England fans (the minority to be sure) are up in arms about that when the Pats have been accused and shown to do much worse. It's a bit trivial and petty.

That being said, it IS a story to some degree as Big Ben was violating NFL rules by doing that. In the grand scheme of things though, it's nothing to make a mountain out of.

The story of NFL teams taking taxpayers money to honor veterans isn't new as it came out sometime this past summer IIRC. McCain ripping them on it is certainly a new wrinkle to the story and he has enough clout that if he were to pursue a punishment for the NFL it could happen.

Now Boston media are calling the NFL liars for saying Ben was holding a black wristband with plays on it, lol. They are really ratcheting up this victim complex thing, seems like.

I just.... why would you think it's ok to harass a public figure about your fantasy football team, period. Not even getting into the fact that he had his kids with him. Who raised these people?
                  Non-story.

Millionaire television personality can't handle a tiny bit of playful (non-violent, non-vulgar) heckling from his front row seats so he packs up his bratty kids and retreats to another millionaire's luxury box. Give me a break.

They could be decent human beings and, you know, not heckle a guy who is just out at a football game with his family.

What do his earnings have to do with any of this? He wasn't at work.

Why are you counting that man's money?

Looked like a cell phone to me but either way the Boston media shouldn't be making such a huge stink out of this.

It seemed extremely playful in nature to me. I almost don't even want to call it heckling. I've heard my fair share of heckling before (take in a game in the bleachers at Wrigley and you'll really see some heckling) and this is so insanely mild in comparison. Plus, the dude emailed him an apology afterward. Anyone who would apologize like that doesn't seem to be the type that would have done it in the first place if he knew how bent out of shape he would have gotten about it. Celebrities get hassled in public much worse than this on a daily basis all the time and we never hear about it because it is a non-story.

Nobody cursed at him or his kids, nobody threatened him or his kids, nobody laid a hand on him or his kids. I seriously do not see what the big deal is about this at all. I read his columns (more for entertainment purposes than actual advice) pretty regularly and he is the type of guy that blows a lot of stuff out of proportion and exaggerates for the sake of something to write about. That's all this is: an idea for another article.

Also, this is the same dude that trash talked Lisa Robin Kelly just days after she passed away in one of his columns to make a fantasy football analogy. If you can't take it, don't dish it... or something.

To be fair, if Brady was seen using a cell phone they probably would've launched an investigation.

But yeah, it's a non-story that certain news outlets around here are trying to blow up for that very reason - the headset thing got an entire day devoted to it by ESPN and **** and this is nothing (and probably a worse violation). Oh well. Stupid media doing stupid things.

I'm sure the Pats would be (or have been) way more slick about it.
