Re: NFL Off Topic
Not really sure where to put this but interesting nonetheless. All I really care about is whether this impacts the NFL's deal with EA though."Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Maybe they figure Wilson will continue to make plays, just enough plays, both by passing and with his feet.
As long as the defense holds up.
Are they going to extend Okung? LTs command big contracts so it'll be interesting to see how they manage the cap.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Or, you can just start a thread. It's a forum... just like every other one, the mods don't need to be responsible for starting threads, that's why everyone has the power to do it.
The catch all threads make more sense for sports like baseball, basketball and hockey, bc there are so many games and the bulk of the games aren't only on one day. But we can talk about if that's a change worth making here.
Either way, your post is a really, really poor excuse for a reply to my request to not flood the OT thread. People make threads based on one little story, play, event all the time. If it doesn't get traction it fades away... such is the life of a forum thread.
Right, coming up with solutions to an issue that only you see as a problem is a poor excuse for a reply, lol. I guess not responding would have been better. Oh well, this thread will just keep on flooding with discussion. How terrible.Comment

I presented a solution (as a mod for this site btw). So lol all you want, but my request stands. Maybe you would've done better to just not reply.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Granted some of the sacks he was taking was on him, but...the O-Line play up until the last few years was mostly below average. It's much better now though.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
The thing to remember about the difference between Rodgers' offensive line and the one that Wilson is playing behind, is that even in it's worse state, Rodgers would just have to shuffle around a few feet to buy time in the pocket. Not an easy task with 300 lb men flying at you, but still.
Wilson, tho? He either has all the time in the world, or absolutely no time at all. Russell ain't shuffling a few feet, he's running like he stole something.jWILLComment

Re: NFL Off Topic
I do wanna say this about Russell Wilson, tho.
Amidst my meltdown yesterday, I went to search for Russell Wilson's stats for the season so far.
124/180 ATT
68.9% completion rate
7 TD
3 INT
1433 YDS
8.0 yards per completion average
251 rush yards
5.6 yards per carry
I know people are gonna take the piss, but truth be told... considering he's on pace to become the most sacked QB in NFL single season history, it's quite remarkable that he's having his best season of his career from the pocket so far. No matter what you feel about him as far as his value is concerned, you have to give him credit for what he's been able to salvage on offense.
I almost want to place Pete Carroll & Tom Cable under citizen's arrest for the criminal negligence of this offensive line.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
Would agree he isn't the biggest problem, but can't just completely absolve Wilson of blame. The O-Line is bad but Wilson contributes to that by not getting rid of the ball quicker in certain moments where he has a chance to. The team has also been pretty bad on third downs and in the red zone. Those are pretty key areas where Wilson has to get better if this offense is to improve. Not to mention the completely oddity of the offense just going completely cold in the fourth quarter recently.Last edited by thaima1shu; 10-19-2015, 04:51 PM.Comment

I know he gets blame a lot to the point where it's cliche, but it's becoming a self-fullfilling prophecy at this point. It's almost like he's aware of their lack of offensive production outside of the first 80 yards of the field, and at anytime outside the first 45 minutes of the game, and 3rd down. And his response is overthink it and become even more conservative.jWILLComment

I would have to agree that Bevell and the oline are his biggest hurdles.Comment

Re: NFL Off Topic
You absolutely can NOT blame Graham without also blaming Wilson. Graham doesn't throw balls to himself. He's not a shifty speedy wide out, he's a TE... a lot of his damage winning battles for the ball. Wilson, from what I can tell, has little desire to throw a 50/50 ball. It's not surprising since he never really had anyone worth taking that chance with, and considering the make up of the team, it's made a ton more sense to not hurt the defense and give the ground game a chance rather than throwing jump balls. But in the red zone when you have a guy like Graham, you have to trust that he will win battles. You also have to make him your first read a lot more often than is happening.
If he can't trust Graham in this regard, that trade was a huge loss considering they gave up an olinesman to get him, and are playing more of a pass catching TE at a time when the oline could use help blocking.Comment
