To put some more perspective on Buzbee's words, the police chief that he mentioned leaving for Miami (Art Acevedo) was the HPD Chief through March 31. He literally just left Houston.

EDIT: HPD is now involved as someone has filed a criminal complaint with them against Watson.

The whole Watson case smelled funny to me from the start. The attorney who supposedly has all of this evidence from so, so many women decided that he would just ask for a six figure out of court settlement from the very beginning. Deshaun denied it as BS. Then, all of a sudden, these women and their honor and full blown justice is the most important thing, so he's getting blasted via social media right and left. It's a strong-arming tactic at the very least.

Nothing since then has made me want to trust it 100%. It could be all legit. I'm for absolute justice in any wrongs done. It just all started with a sketchy feel, and it has only gotten sketchier the more information comes out.

The sketchiest thing overall, is that he had all of the leverage to get out of Houston, and suddenly this comes out of nowhere (concerning supposed occurrences over years that somehow didn't get out there), and now, he has basically no leverage at all.

What I can't get past is the practice of recruiting random massage therapists over Instagram, etc. Is this really a standard thing for NFL players? The courts will take care of the legalities, liabilities and any criminal conduct... but being sued by 21 (or whatever the number is up to now) and countering that by rounding up 20+ other massage therapists you setup appointments with to say good things about you is what gives me pause about his conduct - just or otherwise.

“Sliding in the DMs” has been a thing for years.

The process of approaching for a cash settlement prior to taking it to the courts is standard. Nothing out of the ordinary or shady about that.

The majority of civil suits involving corporations are settled prior to going to court.

That’s one less team the Bears have to worry about taking a QB in the first round. I can see Pace trading up if one of the top five QBs falls out of the top ten

I like this for Carolina. Decent value for a young QB with potential still. Gives a lot of options with the 8th pick.

Darnold feels like ceiling upgrade over Bridgewater and with the weapons the Panthers have it should be pretty easy to evaluate Darnold's future

Reports that Carolina will pick up Darnold’s 5th yr option.

Sam is all potential. Jets did him wrong by not surrounding him with weapons. But he’s a turnover machine.

Definitely looking forward to seeing him with a star at RB and threats on the outside.

Jets will have 21 picks in the next two drafts.

Jets did Sam a favor. Hopefully he can resurrect his career in Carolina. He'll be reunited with his buddy Robbie Anderson.

Wonder what this means for Bridgewater?

Probably done with him. Or QB battle here we come. What's the money like for both these guys?

The Jets failed Sam Darnold. They did the complete opposite of everything that you should do when you draft a QB. Terrible coaching, terrible offensive line, terrible weapons, the one good weapon he had they let go over a few million dollars. In a better situation he could have succeeded, and he still might with a fresh start.

Still all that is the past, and its the right decision because:
-The Jets blew the cost controlled years of Sam's contract and they get another chance to take advantage of Wilson's
-Sam got worse in year 3 not better
-Sam has missed time every year
-Just way too many unknowns to pass on a qb worthy of the #2 pick
