That is exactly what would happen.

Leave college rules in college where they belong.

I don't mind the spot foul, I just don't like automatic first downs. A 5 yard illegal contact a mile away converting a 3rd and 12 drives me nuts.
Bills, Sabres, Illini, Cubs, basically any team that abuses its fanbase and I'm there.

I'll try and find it. YouTube isn't really giving the replay review in the highlight reels.

EDIT: Here it is, as well as the announcement of the replay review (placing at the 1) and the play after.

It's at 4:37 in case it doesn't bring you right there.

SECOND EDIT: Actually looking at the next play, it appears that they may have in fact placed it where the ball was when he was down. When they announced it though, they just said the ball would be placed at the 1-yard line. Interesting.

THIRD EDIT: Haha whoops, they actually said "Inside the one yard line." I guess forget everything I said.

Now I go back to the question of "Why is DPI not a TD when offensive holding is a safety?" I agree that neither should be either, but it doesn't make sense that one is one and the other is the other the way it is.

Pretty sure thats why defensive holding is an automatic first. Otherwise if I'm a corner and get fooled by a double move I'm just gonna grab the WR's jersey when he blows by me.

I would like a delay of game penalty to be called when the play clock hits :00. This business of giving an extra second per the refs discretion (or ability to see the play clock and then the ball) has way to much of a Soccer ambiguous feel to it.

It got to the point where I was assuming that when we saw the play clock hit zero, that meant that it was actually at 00.9, 00.8, 00.7, etc. and we just didn't see the decimals. It always seems like they give an extra second more than they should have.

From what was said during a few games I watched over the weekend, this is a point of emphasis for officials this year. They are being instructed to have a quicker whistle for delay of game penalties.

This stricter enforcement couldn't come at a worse time for Denver. [emoji2960]

That would be fine, but the game clock doesn't work that way (Or Dallas would have had an extra play in the playoffs last year). The current system just seems unnecessarily ambiguous and creates controversy that just isn't needed.

Because at one point that is what commentators were telling us.

I find myself caring less and less, mostly beacuse I'm simply never going to visit Canton. And almost all of my guys are in. Sterling Sharpe and Mike Holmgren are the only exceptions, and I believe they will both get in very soon.

I think far too much emphasis is put on Titles, considering this should be an honor for individual accomplishment.

I think there is plenty of bias in the voting. How did John Lynch line jump LeRoy Butler and Darren Woodson? How is Ronde Barber a finalist over Eric Allen? Dungy and Cowher over Holmgren?

I do agree with the tweeter though, whatever flaws, this is still vastly superior to the pompous BBWA, who do nothing but defile the history of that great sport.

... how the h@ll does Allen Rossum make it onto a HOF ballot? Absurd.

I can't take a HOF seriously when they feel that people have to get in every year.
                          NFL- Green Bay Packers
                          NCAA- Florida State Seminoles

Isn't that how all HOF's work, though? I can't remember the last time one of the major HOF's that I'm aware didn't induct someone annually (except in extreme situations).
